“Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul”
Psalm 143:8
On Monday morning after a week-long vacation, it is so hard to “rise and shine”! But work was calling and so was Tablescape Tuesday! I decided to keep it simple – breakfast for two at our kitchen island! As always, you are invited to join us!
I softened the granite top with a rooster patterned table square! A European charcuterie board provided the foundation for the centerpiece! Water hyacinth placemats added texture! Paisley napkins match the border on the table square! The centerpiece consisted of a Fitz and Floyd rooster and hen along with fresh herbs from our garden! I used thyme, lemon balm, rosemary, basil, and ornamental peppers. The salt and pepper shakers are vintage! Pineapple orange juice in champagne flutes turns an ordinary breakfast into a festive one! The rooster plates coordinate perfectly with the table square! The large rooster and Italian pasta jar are always at home on the kitchen island! “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11

Even the most casual of meals has very elegant settings. I love the Country French theme…So beautiful Pam!…and your kitchen, gorgeous too!
Pam Richardson says
Thanks so much, Shirley! The paisley napkins are quite old now, but I still enjoy pulling them out occasionally. The rooster print was used in my kitchen years ago as well as the paisley. Happy Tuesday!
shirley@housepitalitydesigns says
P.S. The pattern in the napkins is the very same pattern of my wallpaper in the master bathroom of a previous home!…I loved that paper!

I am in love with your charcuterie board…as well as your roosters.I think every kitchen should have at least one rooster, and of course every rooster should have a hen.

Your kitchen is so pretty, Pam! I love softening the bar with the cloth. I have a friend that covers her entire bar with a cloth that she had made especially for showers and engagement parties. She uses a solid brown and very formal flowers transforming the entire look.
Your table for two is eye catching and your centerpiece pulls everything together. Love all the colors.
Hope your week is restful. You have had a busy month. Haven’t had a chance to comment on your island adventure. Beautiful scenery. Glad all turned out well. The weather can change things quickly.
Pam Richardson says
Bonnie, thanks so much for your gracious remarks. You are a wonderful encourager! August was very busy, but no immediate plans for travel. I will enjoy being home during autumn, which is my favorite season! Blessings!
Pam Richardson says
p.s. Bonnie, I hope you will post again soon!

What a beautiful breakfast display. You have such talent at putting table settings together. I have begun collecting settings for the holidays. Mixing and matching is definitely the most practical way to go. I will definitely check out some stores on your list.

Very beautiful to start your day! I love the long board. Perfect for adding visual interest. I love the idea of picking herbs for décor. I use them in cooking, but don’t think to do that. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

What a fabulously colorful table with your oranges and reds. My neighbor has a rooster next door, even though you aren’t to have them in the city, and she just loves him, although he is noisy all day, not just in the morning.
This would make anyone want to rise and shine.
Pam Richardson says
Jacqueline, thanks so much! Roosters can be extremely noisy for sure! Happy Labor Day weekend!

Sharon White says
Pam,
Once again I have found inspiration from your table. Ever since our children left the house, my husband and I have been eating meals at our island/peninsula–not at the table. I think my husband missed eating at the table, but it made me sad not having our girls there. Now I see how I can set a beautiful table at the counter. Who would have thought of setting a table where you eat at the counter on barstools? Thank you, thank you.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Sharon, how sweet! I try to make everyday special at meal times even for just the two of us. I think it is worth the extra effort! Blessings!
