Changin’ It Up: Paisley and Velvet Bedding

“Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:10‬ ‭

Opening up the mailbox and finding new catalogs is often a bright spot in my day.  I have no idea how many I receive,
but let’s just say I am probably job security for my letter carrier!

Now I realize that I can view all the products on line, but something about turning those pages is more entertaining!
I guess you can call me and my catalog loving self old-fashioned!

Several weeks ago as I was thumbing through one from Pottery Barn with nothing really in particular in mind, I ran across jeweled-tone paisley bedding and it begged me to stop flipping!  I knew it probably needed to
make our bed its new home, but I couldn’t quite tell if the colors would work.

Well, we were in Birmingham last week, and as soon as I laid eyes on it, I knew it was time to change up our bedding for the cooler weather!
You can see our spring/summer bedding here:
Butterflies, Birds & Bold Bedding!
Since then, the seasons have changed, and our bedding has followed suit!
The colors of the bedding worked perfectly with all
the patterns and colors of the bedroom!
The velvet cotton material is soft and plush!  I forgot that I had this little triangle-shaped pillow with the
feathers, but it is a great addition to the bedding!
The white Euro-shams with the blue embroidery were found at
TJ Maxx several years ago and they complement
the paisley bedding!     I have always loved a bed with lots of pillows.  The larger silk
Euros match the bed skirt and window treatments!  I am often asked about the wall color – it is “peacock blue”
by Benjamin Moore!  What about you…
Do you add more layers to your bedding for the cooler months?
Do you like to incorporate warmer colors to make for a cozier feel?

Lovely, lovely. I used to change bed linens, but now that I’m not in Houston in the summer or Maine in the winter each place is right for the season.

  2. Pat says:

It looks beautiful! I love the colors and yes, I like to change bedding and add layers for the winter. I just have a difficult time making a decision! I looked on Saturday and will do more but the “perfect” bedding hasn’t caught my eye yet. :)

Gorgeous bedding! Love the blue feather pillow, too! I’m the same with books and magazines, too… I love the real deal… turning those actual pages! :) ~Rhonda

Pam that is such a beautiful paisley. The colors are so bold and they are offset perfectly by the white comforter. And the bed is equal to the pattern. They are both stunning.

Yes on more layers here…in Chicagoland, and probably the peachy tones instead of cool greens. We will see, I also have some bedding that has a white background that can look very wintery. Very pretty, love paisley anything…and that is gorgeous with your walls. Thanks for sharing, Sandi

The room looks so warm and inviting. I’m in the process of remodelling our home here in the UK, the weather is cold and wet but I can’t wait for the contractors to finish and be able to create a lovely bedroom! Great post

You are so right Pam. This quilt looks like it was made for this room! Love the additional pillows you added. Very beautiful! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  8. Don’t you just love it when you stumble across things you love and they just tie together perfectly? Love your room decor and color choices, paisley and velvet together in one piece, what could be more cozy?

We love your comments!
