“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”
John 10:27
It’s not very often that I change my coffee table…maybe once a season, if that! Give me a moment to digress. Butch and I went to dinner in Birmingham last Friday and made a stop at Whole Foods…and I can’t make a trip there without stopping to admire their fresh flowers. I spotted a pretty bouquet of purple irises and lo and behold, they jumped into our cart with my usual purchases of parmigiana reggiano and fresh goat cheese.
Now, where was I? Oh yes, the coffee table! So, I arranged the irises in a vase and set them on the kitchen island to be enjoyed! Saturday, I added some snowball blooms and they made their way to the coffee table! The purple and white goodness gave a new look for the coming week which I had not planned, it just “kind of” happened! Don’t you just love when things like that happen?
The purple irises and snowball blooms…the inspiration for the coffee table vignette!
The wicker tray gives texture and collects a stack of inspirational books!

Bird’s nest and blue eggs for spring!

I am a coffee fan, but I am trying to drink more hot tea. I chose this sweet antique cup and saucer for the purple in its pattern!

There are always coffee table books displayed, and this one is a favorite designer, Charlotte Moss!

A purple votive with a scented candle to complement the purple irises!
My friend Kathy, gave me this figurine…love it! It rests on a couple of books written about the 23rd Psalm…
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Psalms 23:1

Sharon, just drop by and I can make tea or coffee! Happy weekend!
Pam, the room is beautiful! I love all the colors you’ve incorporated in the space. Your little coffee table vignette is perfect. The texture of the tray along with the flowers and little sheep is just right for this time of year. Trays and baskets make everything better, don’t they? Pinning.
Thanks for joining us at Thoughts of Home on Thursday. We are delighted to have you. 🙂
Stacey, love sharing at your party TOHOT! Your words are always so encouraging!
It’s beautiful Pam, I am loving the sheep with the snowballs, and your thoughtful book stack. I’m afraid if I sat there for a cup of tea I would linger for a long time!
Jenna
Jenna, I would love for you to linger over a cup of tea…I am sure we would have much to talk about!
So very pretty . Although I admire neutral tones , my decorating heart loves the use of color !
Sheep and birds nests displayed so sweetly , promoting a calm and pastoral feel.
If you ever create a “coffee table” book of design , I would be first on the list to buy !
Christine, I am humbled by your sweet and encouraging remarks! You made my day! I have always loved color, so that is different from the current trend of whites and neutrals! But, it will change as it always does. I just try to stay true to my style and that is what makes us all different! Happy weekend, Christine
Yes, those purple iris and snowball blooms are so inspiring! I love to see books stacked everywhere…and it used to function for me when I had time to read! But, I still love to have book stacks everywhere. They’re a great way to elevate things. Speaking of elevate, I love your nest on the stand. It’s all beautiful, and I know you’re enjoying it. I hope you’re having a wonderful week, my friend!
Kim, thanks so much. It is hard to find the time to read, but I always have a book that I am reading. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
I love the colors in your home! I think you decorate with the same eye as myself in that I want my eye to see something beautiful every place, not just one place. I will stand in different spots, short and long distances, to see if it all goes together and if there is something beautiful to see every inch of the way. And if I see one thing that offends my eye, it is removed and I start all over again. Thank you for showing your love of God, family and home. You inspire me.
Alice, your home sounds so lovely! We obviously share so much in common! I have always loved color, so I am a bit different in the current trend of all neutral. I just try to stay true to what I like and not be swayed by the latest style…after all it will change again! Happy weekend!
Your arrangement is beautiful! Your vignette does inspire sitting and reflecting on your delightful books. Love your sheep figurine.
Thanks, Bonnie! I certainly enjoy reading! Wishing you a beautiful weekend!
Love the purple iris and snowball together in the vase. My irises are blooming and I saw my neighbor has some snowballs blooming. Maybe they might let me cut a couple to mimic your arrangement. The lamb is perfect for this Easter season.
Judy, thanks for your visit! I love all the springtime blooms, and cutting from my little garden makes me extremely happy. I am an amateur (very amateur) gardener!
Beautiful iris’ and snowballs. I don’t have any snowballs. I’ve tried them several times but they die. My iris’ are looking like that right now too. Love them. All your pictures are beautiful and yes I love that teacup. My Mom left me all of hers. Enjoyed visiting you today.
Thanks so much for visiting and for commenting! The weather turned cooler today, but still sunny! Have a great weekend!
Beautiful tray vignette! Your house looks magazine worth, just like the magazine you love.
