Tablescape Tuesday: A Bloomin’ Birthday Weekend!

“For “the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.””
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:26‬ ‭

Last Thursday, my sweetheart celebrated a milestone birthday, and we ventured off to Birmingham to Chez Fonfon…just the two of us!  We had the best crab cakes you will eat anywhere and had a nice evening to celebrate the day that God created him!  But, as you have seen on the blog, I enjoy making birthdays a special time for all the family.  So on Saturday night, we had a small dinner party and I had no ideas for the table…it just came together!  Since our azaleas are in bloom and they are too pretty to leave outside, I had to let them make an appearance on Tablescape Tuesday! Now I know the tablescape may look a little feminine, but Butch sure doesn’t care…as along as he is surrounded by plenty of good food, laughter, and an Edgar’s Bakery cake!  We scored on all three! It was a fun weekend of celebrating his birthday!

The azaleas make quite a statement, whether in the landscape or on the dining room table!

The paisley placemats add additional color to the setting!

Rose colored napkins complement the azalea blooms!

An etched cloche covers the bird nest I borrowed from the coffee table as seen here!

“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold
in a setting of silver”
Proverbs‬ ‭25‬:‭11‬

The hand-painted napkin rings are a favorite!

Butch loves a sugary, bakery cake!

Happy Birthday to Butch….Love this tablescape and especially the gorgeous Bell Jar and Azaleas. Please feature just how to make the Bell Jar arrangement in another post. Love your Blog.

    • Everyday Living says:

Thank you so much, Vicki! The bird nest arrangement is really easy! I have a trio of metal stands for cupcakes and I used the shortest one and placed it on a faux wood charger and placed moss all around the the charger, I put a bird’s nest with 3 tiny eggs on the stand and added moss, then the cloche on top, voila that is it! If you have questions, feel free to ask me! Happy Tuesday, Pam

It’s beautiful, Pam! Love those napkin rings – and the crystal, clear and etch glass combination. Your table sparkles (which brings another celebration soon to mind). Ha! I love the pink napkins with the azalea blooms. The tones of pink are so pretty. How do you keep the deer away from your azaleas? I’m so glad you all had a fun celebration weekend – as well as a night just for you two. Happy birthday (belated), Butch! 🙂

    • Everyday Living says:

Kim, thanks! The deer have never bothered our azaleas, hopefully they won’t! I have a huge azalea in the front yard and after it quits blooming, Butch will have to cut it back! Have a wonderful week!

I love that you haven’t given up on your colorful home! So many people are jumping on the neutral trend, and I know it’s been around for a while, but I love color! I want color in my home! I love that you’re showing you can still be who you are, and be beautiful! Thank you.

    • Everyday Living says:

Annette, you are exactly right! If we jump off on every trend, we would constantly be changing and spending money! I have tried to stay true to my style and it is sometimes hard to swim upstream against the current of all neutrals! My motto has always been, I have one life…let me live it in color! Blessings and Happy Tuesday, Pam

Dearest Pam, another beautiful tablescape! I am sure that the food was as delicious as the setting was beautiful. And as you know, Butch is just a few months ahead of me for this significant birthday. It is so hard to believe that these years have passed so quickly. I am so grateful for life and good health, and the beauty that is all around us.

  6. Happy Birthday to Butch! We’ll have to check out Chez Fonfon sometime.
Your table is pretty. I love the fushia azaleas. Can’t think of the name of them at the moment. Ours were so pretty before Easter and we had heavy rain and wind that pretty much destroyed them.
I love your napkins, napkin rings and placemats.
    Have a good week.

Bonnie, so far, it has been a beautiful spring in Gadsden! I am getting excited about adding some plantings! Happy Thursday!

  7. Leslie Anne Tarabella says:

I visited Edgar’s Bakery for the first time a few months ago when I was in Birmingham. It was awesome! I can understand why a cake from there is a reason to celebrate — as if the birthday weren’t enough! Beautiful table!

    • Everyday Living says:

Leslie Anne, I guess since you visited Edgar’s, you understand my husband’s cake addiction! Happy Thursday!

  8. Lori says:

What a beautiful tablescape and I so admire that your husband was willing to dine at it despite all the pink – that’s a true “man”! (I have one like that too) Love the gorgeous azaleas and your cloche centerpiece with the nest. That cake looks super delish – hope Butch had a good birthday!

    • Everyday Living says:

Lori, thanks so much. I am fortunate that Butch has never complained about girlie colors! He just likes to eat! Happy Thursday!

  9. Stacey says:

    Happy Birthday Butch. 🙂

You set the bar mighty high for the rest of us, Pam. I never set a table like that but I’m loving the inspiration!

  10. such a beautiful table as always, i love the glasses and all the beautiful colors – especially the pink flowers! Happy Birthday to your hubby and thank you for sharing at #ImpartingGrace today

Happy Birthday to Butch! I just bought an Azalea to plant. You don’t see them around here that much. After visiting the Carolinas I had to try one. 🙂 Thanks for sharing with SYC.

We love your comments!
