Simple + Southern Sunday No. 89

“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”
2 Chronicles 7:14

“God bless America, land that I love, stand beside her and guide her thru the night with a light from above!”

“O beautiful for spacious skies…

 ...for amber waves of grain…

…for purple mountains majesties…

…above the fruited plain!…

…America! America!…

 …God shed his grace on thee!…

…and crown thy good with brotherhood…

…from sea to shining sea!…

“Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged”
             Ronald Reagan

“Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth”
             George Washington

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery”
Galatians 5:1

“Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on…

…Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!, Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!, Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Our God is marching on…”

“I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”

  1. Kim says:

    Beautiful, Pam! The words and hearts of our founders displayed how the Lord was entangled in our beginning, our prospering, and our strength. But, with the recent elimination of God’s mention in every founding preamble and document, we see the beginnings of a nation no longer under God…but gone under. (Thanks, President Reagan, for those prophetic words of truth!). I long for a time when I can hang our flag with pride. We removed our flag in mourning last year after our country shoved new and horrible legislation down our throats. We eventually hung it again – as a sign of hope and in prayer that faith in God will once again reign in our land! When that happens, we will no longer be undone.

  2. The words to God Bless America are so meaningful. Chronicles 7:14 executed by God’s people would be heard. My prayer is for revival in our nation.
    Thank you for the patriotic pictures and words on this Fourth of July weekend.
