Tablescape Tuesday: A Slice Of Summer

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit”
2 Corinthians 3:18

I look out the kitchen window and guess what I see?  The faces of the happiest blooms…sunflowers!  We planted a couple of short rows last year, and I enjoyed them so much that they had to make a return appearance!  Last summer we planted them outside and to the left of the garden, this year we planted them behind the garden, so that means I have a good view from my kitchen window of their large blooms!  Today I am combining the smiling flowers and a favorite summer refreshment…ice-cold watermelon with coarse sea salt for the perfect summer table!  Join me and I will share a slice of summer with you!

The brightly colored paisley tablecloth sings that it is summer!

A couple of fly-catchers to prevent the pesky visitors!

The cute watermelon plates came from TJ Maxx last year, but I have seen them this year, also.

The stemware is one of my favorites…love their aqua color!

I paired lemon and coral napkins cinched with vintage crocheted napkin rings.

“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11

I love your visits and the comments you leave!

My dear friend Pan, beautiful … beautiful as always your posts. If you do not see me around here do not think I’ve forgotten about you, it is that Antonio is in intensive treatment of chemotherapy and radiotherapy and my life is spent almost all day in a hospital.
    A big hug

Juan 14:27. Envío de amor, abrazos, y oraciones, Pam

My dearest Dolores, prayers for Antonio as he undergoes chemo and radiation. Prayers for you as you take care of him. May God restore his health and give you many happy years! I leave this scripture for you today from the Gospel of John, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:27‬ ‭. Sending love, hugs, and prayers, Pam

  7. Sunflowers out your kitchen window, sigh, what a wonderful way to do the dishes! Love your bright cheery summer scene Pam, and I’ve never had salted watermelon, I must try! Cute plates too, and love the blue bottles with the sunflower centerpiece-I can almost hear the bees buzzing :)

  8. cindy says:

Pam your tablescapes make me smile and smile big my friend. I have sunflowers growing and several are over 7 feet tall now. I cannot wait to see them bloom. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  9. Jann Olson says:

Hi Pam, I adore that tablecloth and the colors of this tablescape! I’ve decorated my table for Pioneer Day here in UT on the 24th. After it’s over I am pulling out my sunflower and watermelon décor as well. Those plates are so cute and I am tempted. I really don’t need more dishes. :) My son put salt on his watermelon at a bbq and his friends all teased him and said, that no one does that but your mom. I say that is not so! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  10. Mary says:
