“And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God”
Ephesians 5:2
Hello, autumn! Since it is the first day of my favorite season, I’ve got some fun things to share with you! Over the past month, we’ve had a lot of activity here at our house…there have been painters and builders and everything in between! That means we’ve made progress on the work that needed to be done around here! At one point, Butch suggested we make signs that said “Ladderville” and point them towards our house…there was a ladder around every corner!
Our house and detached garage (that most people think is a guest house) has a shiny new coat of paint, the smaller building behind the detached garage has been pressure washed, the color of our wood siding is now Benjamin Moore’s “iron gate”, and do you remember That Particular Shade Of Blue? My exterior doors are now proudly wearing “buxton blue” by Benjamin Moore! But that’s not all…the long-awaited Perfect Pergola is over my patio, and hopefully, I will be posting it soon! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! Today, we will be on our small front porch, which you’ve never seen before…and yes, it is dressed in autumn finery! Let’s take a look!
I love adding simple things for an autumn porch… pumpkins, lanterns, and seasonal flowers.
This twig pumpkin wreath came from Kirkland’s and it adds the perfect touch to the door.
The large mums haven’t bloomed out, so I used a smaller basket and then mixed with Kong coleus for rich fall color.
I still love the traditional orange pumpkins…they say that autumn has arrived!

I think an urn stacked with pumpkins is so welcoming sitting next to the front door!

I am loving the blue door…I have had red doors for years so this is a big change!
Happy fall y’all! Thanks so much for your visits and the comments you leave behind!

Pam, your porch looks beautiful and ready for Fall! I love that blue front door! What a beautiful color! Happy first day of Fall, and I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!
Thanks, Shannon! Happy Fall!
Pam, how would you like to come to Maine and dress my environs for fall? I would love to have you add your special touches here.
Linda, I could take you up on that offer sometime, but you are so talented and creative, you certainly don’t need me! Happy Fall!
We can talk about that!!
I also love decorating for Fall and every season. Last year I stacked three pumpkins in a tall urn by my front door also but it didn’t stay there very long because the squirrels found it and destroyed it. Having to rethink my Fall decorations this year.
Alice, those squirrels can be so pesky! Let me know what you come up with. Happy Fall!
It’s all so gorgeous, Pam! I love the new look. Moving from red is a big change, but you did well with your new door color! The new siding color looks beautiful, too. Also, you have the perfect pumpkin patch at your door! Happy Fall!
Happy Fall to you, Kim!
Your Fall porch looks very pretty. The blue color you chose is a nice serene color. I would like to see all of the porch. That shutter has me curious. Love looking at design of homes. Happy Fall
Thanks so much, Nancy! Happy Fall to you!
You always make your decor look so inviting no matter what the theme. Thanks for sharing and giving those of us a few ideas that are simple enough even the non-interior designers can do. Still think the world of you! Love, Nicole Waddell Roper
Nicole, what sweet comments! You were a wonderful student and I think the world of you! Happy fall ! Love and hugs, Pam
Orange with a teal-y blue are a favorite combination of mine. My husband said I’m going to have our house looking like the Miami Dolphins headquarters if I’m not careful!
I know it is beautiful! Happy first day of fall!
Love your new pretty blue door Pam, there is nothing like fresh paint! All your pumpkins look wonderful, question-did you do anything to preserve them? I have read about bleach baths and spray varnish…I want to set some in my urns this weekend but it’s still so hot I’m afraid they will rot! Looking forward to the big reveal!
Jenna
Jenna, thank you! I didn’t do anything to preserve the pumpkins. Last year they lasted longer than I wanted them to, they may rot quick this year! Have a great weekend!
Oh, yes, love the blue door too! And, all the fall decor is just beautiful! Happy 1st day of fall!!!!
Thanks so much, Lea! HAPPY FALL!
Happy Fall, Pam! Your porch is so pretty, dressed in its Autumn finery! I love your new door color, as well! It’s so fun to see all of your pumpkins and mums on display. Hopefully, as predicted, our temps will drop in the next few days; and I will finally be able to buy and have some real fun with mine!
Thanks so much, Shenita! Still hot here…hopefully autumn temps will arrive soon! Have a beautiful weekend!
Pam- Everything you do is just lovely! Happy Fall!
