“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23
When you think of Boston, what comes to mind? The world famous marathon? Red Sox? The Freedom Trail? Cream Pie? On our recent trip to New England, we spent three days in the lovely city, taking in the sights! There was no marathon running and no baseball watching, but we did get to visit the historic neighborhood of Beacon Hill! I was so delighted that our hotel was only a few blocks away, perfect for a stroll!
Beautiful Beacon Hill homes have filled the pages of shelter magazines that I have subscribed to for years, so I went into full blown tourist mode, with my camera in hand! Beacon Hill is a neighborhood of Federal-style row houses and narrow gaslit streets and brick sidewalks. Sadly, no one invited me inside, but I am sharing beautiful doors and window boxes of Beacon Hill, one of the most desirable and expensive neighborhoods in Boston! Lace up your shoes, the temperature is perfect and the sun is shining! Maybe we will burn enough calories for a slice of that yummy cream pie!

I enjoyed your stroll through Beacon Hill. Lovely ironwork, urns, doors and planters of greenery and flowers.
Bonnie, I wanted so badly to see behind the doors!
Love it!
Thanks so much, Diane! Have a great week!
You make us all want to go! HH’s home office is in the Boston area, so of course that’s what I think about when someone mentions Boston. I’d much rather think of these beautiful homes! Maybe I can visit sometime and change my thought reaction. Happy Monday! 🙂
Kim, we loved Boston…I urge you to go with HH! You can explore while he works!
Gorgeous Pam – now I want to peek behind those lovely doors and see what is inside!!
Joy, how I would love to see inside these beautiful homes!
Craftsmanship is a thing of rarity these days with all of our cookie-cutter neighborhoods springing up. These unique beauties are popular for a reason. Good style lasts forever! Thanks for the tour.
Leslie Anne, great style is definitely timeless! Hope you are feeling much better!
Thanks for the lovely tour! Have visited Boston several times, and Beacon Hill always reminds me of Society Hill in Philadelphia, about 45minutes NE of our home. Love those gas street lights!
Thanks for strolling Beacon Hill with me Bobbi! I should check out Philadelphia! Have a wonderful week!
Thank you! I am a small time seller of vintage doorknockers and mailboxes, what a delight to see these doors.
How fascinating that you sell vintage door hardware…I am so glad you strolled along the beautiful streets of Beacon Hill with me!
How fabulous. How lovely. What classic good taste these homeowners have within themselves.
Ginene, these historic homes are classics, thanks for strolling with me!
Pam, loved this tour of beautiful Beacon Hill. I love looking at beautiful doors and wondering what the inside of the homes look like. My son and his family live in Boston and we have visited many times. In fact, they attend Park Street Church which is right across the street from the Boston Commons and is on the Freedom Trail. Did you see it? They recently moved from Charlestown, where they could open their front door and walk across the street to the Bunker Hill Monument, to Winchester, just 8 miles north of the city. So much history and fun things to do in Boston. We are spending Thanksgiving with them and look forward to spending time in that beautiful, historic city. Thanks for sharing!!
Linda, I am so glad you enjoyed this post on such familiar sights for you. We walked all the Freedom Trail and enjoyed every stop and we did see Park City Church! I know you will enjoy spending Thanksgiving there with your family! Blessings for a wonderful seasons of thanks!
Correct my error: Park Street Church
Great photos. I’m fortunate enough to live outside beautiful Boston. Every year Beacon Hill hosts a garden walk which is magnificent. Have a great weekend!
Katie, how wonderful to live close enough to be able to take the garden walk…I would love that!
Love your photos, really makes me miss New England. Don’t you wish you could go inside the homes on Beacon Hill. Sometimes one would be featured in the Sunday home section of the Boston Globe and they were stunning.
Karen, I can only imagine behind the doors…beautiful I am sure! Have a wonderful weekend!
I love Boston and Beacon Hill so much and it has been a long while since I’ve been there. So thanks for this wonderful walk through a beautiful neighborhood at the peak of fall!
Thanks so much for joining me! Happy Sunday!
Such beautiful historic homes and all with such pretty doors. I am surprised there were not more of them adorned with pretty wreaths. Thanks so much for sharing at Celebrate Your Story!
Thanks, Chloe!
Wherever we vacation, the doors and entries of homes always catch my attention. You shared some beauties and they drew me in! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Jann
Jann, don’t we wish we could have a look behind the doors?
