“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!”
Psalms 95:1-2
Roasted Turkey. Mama’s cornbread dressing recipe. Butch’s rosemary mashed potatoes. Green beans seasoned with ham. Sweet potato casserole. 4 cheese mac & cheese. Cranberry sauce from the can for my Daddy. Homemade rolls. Carrot cake with cream cheese icing, and of course pecan pie! My mouth is watering just thinking of these dishes that will grace our table next Thursday! We cook and host Thanksgiving each year here at our home, a tradition handed down by my Mother. Today, I am sharing our official Thanksgiving table with you…a simple one with little fuss! The most important element will gather around on November 24…our family! The food will be delicious and the laughter will be endless, but it is our prayer that our eyes will be taken higher and placed upon our Heavenly Father who lavishes His love and blessings upon us. Now, that is a reason to be thankful!
The “Woodland” pattern by Spode remains one of my all time favorites, especially for autumn and Thanksgiving!

The pheasant feather placemats frame each plate…just a little different and unique!
Gold flatware adds a little touch of elegance to the rustic setting!
Amber stemware was purchased years ago, but is a mainstay for my fall tables.
*
Each dinner plate represents a different bird!
An ironstone tureen and candles are nestled inside fresh eucalyptus…oh the fragrance!

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11

Pam, I love your table and every element, from the Spode dishes (which I also collect) to your amber glasses, assorted salt and pepper shakers, and the clever running centerpiece. The aroma of the eucalyptus must be so heavenly. I am having a quiet Thanksgiving this year ~~ hosting but just for four, and I will use my Spode turkey dishes. Have a wonderful week, and thanks for all the beauty of this table! Linda

Your table is warm but elegant. I do love your Spode and the wonderful use of the eucalyptus. It looks so welcoming. We will probably have more than one Thanksgiving, time with the kids being over the weekend while together and with friends on Thursday. It will be wonderful.

How much fun to be able to extend the Thanksgiving eating! Happy Monday!

Those placemats, Pam – beautiful! We’ll be guests again this year (as is typical at Thanksgiving). I put all my energy into the Christmas fete, so this one’s relaxed for me. Enjoy your planning!

Hello Pam ,
Just when I thought I had enough china for entertaining … your “Woodland Spode” inspires me to collect more ! I do have “His Majesty” salad plates by Johnson Brothers and plan to use all 16 on Turkey Day as I am happily hosting this year .
Your tablescape is simply elegant – one of my favorites that I have seen ( and I have seen and pinned dozens!) . Not surprising , I love everything about “Everyday Living” . I was blessed the day I found your site .
You certainly do spread joy and beauty with every post .
I have never searched for fresh eucalyptus . Do you purchase yours from a local florist ?
Happy Thanksgiving !
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Christine, thank you so much for sweet encouraging words. It seems they always come at just the right time, not an accident. I purchased the eucalyptus at my local Winn Dixie…I have bought the seeded eucalyptus at Trader Joe’s which is 60 miles away. It is reasonably priced at 4.00 a bundle. It sounds like you are planning a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration. I know your table will be beautiful with your turkey plates (I don’t have any turkey plates). Wishing you a beautiful week! Blessings~
Pam @ Everyday Living says
PS. Christine, I don’t know what I was thinking, you didn’t say you have turkey plates. Anyway, your Johnson Brothers salad plates will be perfect. You said you are hosting, do you prepare all the food, or do your guests help?
Christine says
“His Majesty” pattern features a majestic turkey in the center of the plate and soft fall colors grace the plate’s border . I have 8 round and 8 softly squared plates . I found them at “Replacements” . We visited the shop on a past trip to NC .
I will prepare the traditional meal , but have asked my daughters to bring desserts .
Thank you for the eucalyptus tip … I hope my local grocery stores or Trader Joe’s don’t disappoint me !

Thanks Christine! ?

Your menu sounds delicious and nothing is better than a full table of family and laughter!
My husband and I will be a guest at my daughter’s this year. I am excited as always to be in their home. I wash lots of dishes and don’t mind a bit!

Bonnie, I have enjoyed the feather chargers for many years. I know Thanksgiving with your daughter and family will be wonderful, washing dishes is not a bad exchange for not having to cook!

I’m with your daddy on the canned cranberry sauce. My favorite to this day. Proverbs 25:11 should probably be inscribed on napkin rings at Thanksgiving tables across the nation. Definitely fitting on any day, but particularly this year. Your table is lovely, and I adore the pheasant feather placemats…very special! Thanks for inviting us for a peek. Happy Thanksgiving! Cherry Kay
Pam @ Everyday Living says
That is funny that you also love canned cranberry sauce. I purchased two cans for my sweet Daddy today and I will make a fresh cranberry dish for the rest of the family!
Myrna says
I love the canned cranberry sauce too. Unfortunately, you can’t use a can opener to take both ends off and the cranberry sauce just slides right out. Emailed them once and they weren’t convinced to go back to the old cans. Punching a hole in the oppose end doesn’t work as well.
Love the entire tablescape, including those feather placemats.
Carol says
I love everything about your table. The place mats are so unusual. Your china is gorgeous. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks so much, Carol! Blessings for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
