“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.”
1 John 4:9
Whew! Christmas is over and although it was such a wonderful time, it’s good to sit back and relax! I hope everyone had a joy-filled weekend! We certainly enjoyed our sweet family, fabulous food, and making precious memories!
As the New Year approaches, I will be sharing our most viewed posts of 2016, but I thought it would be fun to share this ski house in Utah for the day after Christmas. Because let’s be honest, who couldn’t use a vacation right about now?! We have traveled to Colorado many times for vacation…Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper, and Vail…and oh how beautiful! Butch and Seth are excellent skiers…me, well, let’s just say I am only mediocre! A good ski trip always makes for some good memories, but my favorite one is a trip in 1993 for our twentieth anniversary. Record snowfall fell and it was truly a magical trip! I don’t think it gets better than lunch alfresco on top of a snow capped mountain…a “Rocky Mountain High” for sure!! Grab a cup of hot chocolate and come in off those slopes…let’s take a look at this color-filled home!
This dream home in Utah is surrounded by mountains and beautiful views. The wing chairs and ottoman appear to be wearing lumberjack shirts. The owners are avid skiers.
The dining room details allude to traditional ski lodge decor.
Custom chairs are covered in green leather.
There are endless winks and smiles in this home, and the kitchen is no exception with its patterned backsplash and custom painted floors. Designer, Anthony Baratta, says “I decorate to delight.”
The plaid ceiling in the master bedroom was copied from a vintage flannel shirt.
Who wouldn’t enjoy exercise with this view?
The powder room is fitted with an antique washstand…a custom quilt was made for the spot!
Antique buggy seats serve as benches in this colorful guest room…the bold use of colors and patterns make this home fun!
The walls in this bedroom are covered in a wool felt…so cozy with a fireplace!
An antique mirror hangs on reclaimed barnwood.
A custom headboard in plaid…the designer said the fabrics are his take on L.L. Bean catalog classics.
What a perfect place to unload the skiing gear!
The entry hall with its rugged stone floor sets the tone for this ski lodge decorated for a couple with children who are in their 20’s, the husband’s 93-year-old father, and umpteen guests…oh to be an invited guest!!

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and even got inspired. I have been imagining painting my bedroom furniture in that charcoal gray color and these pics sealed the deal!

I have to say this is much, much better than any ski place in which I have stayed. You’d die laughing if you knew the last place we stayed, but at least it had beds!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Funny, beds are always a good thing!

Oh my, this is gorgeous Pam! I’m wondering, is it in Park City? We live about 30 miles south of SLC. I have been noticing that some blogs are no longer doing link backs to the party. Not seeing one here. Maybe it’s just an over site, but it limits those who will be featured. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann

Whoa! There’s so much to love in this lodge! I’m not exactly sure where to begin! Here’s a smattering of what caught my eye: The chairs in the Dining Room, the light-filled rooms, the back splash in the kitchen, the carpet tiles in the Exercise Room (I’m assuming they are carpet tiles), the cozy reading nook by the fireplace – right down to a little table in which to set down a cup of tea!, that red front door! Simply amazing! Thank you for the tour. You have a truly wonderful eye for detail and this place was certainly worthy of your talents.

Maria, I am so glad you enjoyed this ski home tour…it would be a remarkable place to stay!
