“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
The Christmas decor is down and as much as I loved all of the color and sparkle it added, I am ready for something simple! It’s almost like we decorate for Christmas and we enjoy it for a few days and before you turn around good, it’s over! Is it just me or do y’all feel this way too?! For this week’s table, I took it down a notch and literally had it set in fifteen minutes using only what I had on hand! I am of the opinion that you can’t go wrong with fresh fruit flanked with candles! And since the cold weather is here, why not dig through my collection of scarves to find that perfect table runner?! We’ve got overnight guests here with us, so a table for four is just what we need!

Water hyacinth placemats provide texture along with a scarf used as a table runner!
A wood cake stand filled with apples and oranges rests on a mirrored gold tray.
I love the bird salad plates that I ordered from Pottery Barn last year. I used them last Christmas, but they work for me during the winter months, also!
I mixed flatware using gold and silver…creating a little interest for a simple table, but the real reason being the gold flatware didn’t come with a salad fork!
The white dinner plates were found last year at Home Goods and are a workhorse for tablesettings!
I have been looking for these napkin rings for six months and found them in one of my linen drawers, I guess they were just hiding!

Springy & enchanting- love the birds!
Esther, thanks and wishing you a wonderful 2017!
As always …. beautiful!
Thanks so much, Jo Ann!
I love to undecorate as much as decorate Pam, it provides a chance to play with things, rearrange and refresh, and this table is a perfect example of a beautiful transition from holidays to winter. It is so fresh, lovely with the birds and fruit and all the wonderful texture! I have transitioned to winter from Christmas, except I do still have a swag on my mailbox 🙂 Do you think we’re going to get snow this weekend, yikes, time for me to head South!
Jenna
Jenna, I wouldn’t mind to see snow this weekend. It is always so pretty…we definitely get excited here in Alabama!
I love your bird plates, they are the perfect transition into winter and add such lovely color to your table. Wish I could say that all my Christmas was put away but am working on it.
Karen, thanks so much. I was glad to get everything put away!
I’m totally with you on simplifying! I welcome the “bareness” around my house after the Christmas decor is put away, even in some years all too quickly. Your bird plates are perfect, and I’m so glad you found those beautiful napkin rings. Happy Tuesday!
Thanks Kim, wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!
The scarf runner is a great idea and I love the look with the woven placemats and beautiful plates. A lovely table!
Thanks so much, Jeanie!
Love your bird plates and the texture of the water hyacinth placemats. Perfect classic centerpiece always in good taste.
I do feel slightly jealous everyone has put up their decorations and I will have to face taking all mine down this weekend. But I’ve had a great time with family and wouldn’t change a thing.
Bonnie, I am so glad you have had a wonderful Christmas with your family, that is the best! Wishing you safe travels!
Your 15 minute tablescape looks like you took so much time to create as it is perfection!….Love those PB plates that can be taken into the winter months!…Beautiful as always Pam!!
Shirley, thanks so much. It was nice to put together quick and easy!
Oh I love those bird dishes! The art is so realistic ; very pretty table! 🙂
Hi Pam, You have reminded me that I have those bird plates “hiding” somewhere like your napkin rings were–I must go on a search because I love your warm winter table. The real cardinals are in a feeding frenzy today in my yard so I’m wondering if the colder weather might really come later this week. As usual I’m loving the chance to see more of your beautiful dining room window treatments! Linda
Happy New Year Pam! I love the textured placemats and the bird plates! Lovely table setting, as usual! Blessings, Janet
Thanks so much, Janet!
Yes, I too feel like you do. I am almost holiday dismantled too. I usually can’t wait to get rid of the holiday décor, although I have fun and love it too.
Your tablescape is gorgeous with the bird salad plates.
Happy New Year and many blessings.
FABBY
Thanks so much, Fabby!
I love the textile you used as a runner. In fact, I think I have a poncho that is very similar. Holiday is gone around here, but it didn’t take much to dismantle it.
Thanks so much, Linda. I love finding something and then repurpose it! Happy weekend!
Love your bird salad plates and the fruit centerpiece is fresh and lovely!
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

Thanks so much, Carole! Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
After all the muss and fuss of Christmas it is nice to back up and simplify and your table is a perfect example. It is all lovely. The bird plates bring it all together. Seeing a red cardinal makes the set even more special.
Blessing to you in 2017!
Thanks so much, Cathy! A simple table is a nice change!
Beautiful table – love the cardinal.
Thanks Carol…Happy Tuesday!
