“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”
Colossians 3:14
We all love a romantic dinner, don’t we? Dressing up, flowers, candlelight…the whole nine yards! Isn’t it fun to plan something special with your someone special!? Butch and I both love Valentine’s Day because we are hopeless romantics! Although we have been afforded wonderful opportunities to enjoy romantic dinners at some of the best restaurants here and in Europe, our very favorite romantic dinner is right here in our home. A quiet evening at home with soft music, candlelight, and a delicious home-cooked meal come together to make the perfect Valentine’s evening! Oh yeah, don’t forget the romance and roses!
Oh what a fun week this will be! I am joining 15 other bloggers to bring you A Romantic Table For Two Blog Hop…and the ideas are sure to be endless! Be sure to scroll to the bottom on my post to see the full line-up! A special thank you to Chloe from Celebrate & Decorate for being our amazing hostess!
With thoughts of a romantic dinner for just the two of us, I decided on a small table in front of the fireplace…
…and pink and red are the perfect colors!
Nothing speaks romance like rose petals covering the table…
…with flickering candlelight to complete the ambiance!
Vintage Fostoria stemware gifted to me years ago from a friend of my mother’s.
My long-time friend, Kathy gave me the lovely vintage ruby red sherbets that are resting on Johnson Brothers “Rose Chintz” salad plates.
I do love a fire for an evening at home, but we had to turn on the air conditioner! We have been experiencing spring rather than winter in our Foothills.
Cupid M & M’s and Red Velvet Cupcakes…
…my Mother’s famous recipe!!! Yes it is famous, because her red velvet cake once sold at a charity auction for $1000.00
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
Double chocolate hot cocoa with whipped cream…
…and bakery shortbread cookies round out the desserts!
Thank you all for visiting our table for two…we thought you might like to know what the menu was for our evening…

Pam, I love your cozy and romantic table for two set by the fire for mood and ambiance! We need the air conditioner on here too with this crazy weather 🙂 Your ruby sherbets, etched Fostoria goblets, Johnson Brothers Rose Chintz plates and rose petal strewn table make for perfect Valentine’s Day table for two! Your menu sounds mouth-watering and your mom’s famous Red Velvet cake/cupcakes would be the perfect sweet ending too. ♥
Mary, thanks so much! The weather definitely changed today with much cooler temps and 30 mile an hour wind gusts…probably coming your way!
Yes, we all love a romantic dinner and yours is delightful! Your table strewn with pink and red rose petals, candlelight, vintage stemware and chintz plates set a very romantic mood. Your menu sounds amazing and those desserts look tempting. I know your mother was excited for her cake to go for a $1000.
Thanks so much, Bonnie! Desserts are the best part of the meal in my humble opinion. My Mother baked her red velvet cake for the charity auction every year until she passed away…they never went for less than $600.00! Looking forward to your table tomorrow!
Pam, that’s just beautiful, and a truly romantic setting. I love a rich ruby red glass, and that looks gorgeous against the rose chintz. My husband would be all over that dessert menu, forget the rest! 😉
Thanks so much, Rita, and my husband was all over the desserts, we polished them off❤
How wonderful, Pam! The sherbets on rose chintz speaks to my heart, for sure. Rose petals are the perfect romantic table covering. Lovely. All of it. Wonderful menu, too. I’d love to taste that $1,000 red velvet recipe. Are you going to share it? Happy Monday!
Thanks, Kim❤. I want to share the recipe, but several friends have discouraged it and say it should remain our family recipe. My SIL AND I are the only ones that have it
Very cozy Pam, I would love to dine at a table covered with rose petals! Romance abounds! I love the heart plates and I would probably skip the main course and eat dessert first 🙂 We definitely haven’t had much fireplace weather…I think it’s so much fun to dine at home, and in a different spot, makes everything extra special! I would love to taste the prize winning cake!
Jenna
Thanks so much, Jenna! The AC was running constantly, however today is very blustery and much cooler! Can’t wait to see your table’
Lovely, Pam, beautiful romantic setting with the fireplace, and sweet treats. Love the glassware!!
Thanks so much, Carole❤
Beautiful!
Thanks so much, Jo Ann! Happy Monday, my friend❤
The table is lovely, but first of all, that menu!! YUM! What a perfectly lovely spot to set up a romantic table for two, in front of a cozy fire! The table covered with rose petals certainly says romance! The Rose Chintz dishes are the perfect dishes for your table. Thank you so much for being a part of the tablescape blog hop!
As always, thank you so much Chloe for giving me the opportunity to participate…it is always exciting and fun to blog hop with you as our amazing hostess!
Hallo Pam ! You set a very romantic and beautiful table. The rose petals are very lovely!✨
Thanks so much, it is so nice to blog hop with you this week!
Pam, what a beautiful, romantic, and cozy table for two. I love the red and pink color theme… so perfect for the season! The scattered rose petals add the perfect touch. Your chintz china and red Fostoria glassware are so pretty and look great together. Now for that menu, it sounds absolutely scrumptious! I am so honored to be able to participate with you and all the other wonderful girls. You are all so talented! I hope that you enjoy your day!!!
this is so romantic and lovely. you did a fantastic job putting this all together
Thanks so much, Lori…it was so much fun! Happy Monday!
What a most beautiful and romantic setting!…It feels as if you are dining at a 5 Star Resort!….and may I pull up two more chairs…the menu is amazing as the setting!
Shirley, it would certainly be fun to share dinner with you and Tom!
Your vintage chrystal reminds me of some of my mom’s that were wedding gifts. The stems are different. My parents were married in 1941. I never use it because it’s so fragile. I love your romantic table setting.
Thanks so much, Nancy! Wishing you a wonderful week!
So romantic and beautiful Pam. I love a table in front of the fireplace. Truly elegant and romantic. Rose petals complete the ambiance. The Vintage Fostoria stemware are gorgeous, along with the ruby red sherbets. I was looking on Ebay for some. A lovely menu to compliment the whole setting is true romance.
Thanks so much, Linda…I am looking forward to your table! It is great to be blog hopping with you again!
Dolores
Will be a beautiful celebration of St. Valentine. The corner is excellent, cozy, romantic … Beautiful decoration of the table, in short, I can only wish you a beautiful evening that will surely be excellent. Already last year I was struck how to celebrate. That you know that it is not frequent a celebration like this after so many years … is enviable.
Fondly
Dolores

Hello Pam,
We all love setting a romantic table and yours is beautiful. I love that you set your table right by the fire place. It doesn’t get more romantic than that. Instant romance and inviting ambiance.
I enjoyed all the beautiful rose petals on the table as well as your Johnson Broothers Rose Chintz plates. The ruby sherbets are lovely also. But my favorite has to be your addition of culinary delights. What a fantastic menu. I would love one of those red velvet cupcakes right now. Great job creating a romantic table for two.
It is a pleasure joining you on this blog hop.
PS, didn’t know that you spoke spanish!!! Que sorpresa.
Janet
Janet, thank you so much. Yes, it is fun to set a romantic table and prepare a lovely meal for my hubby! Looking forward to your Tablescape and blog hopping with you this week. I don’t speak Spanish, you must have seen my comments to a sweet friend in Spain and I have to use google translate…I wish I could speak several languages! Have a beauty-filled week!
I should have guessed. I love that google translate. lol
I do love to learning different languages. I would like to learn Italian.
It’s been fun blog hopping with you too.
Have a lovely week Pam.
Janet
Thanks so much, Janet. I would love to learn Italian and French, but at my age, probably won’t happen! Happy weekend!
Everything is lovely! And red velvet cake…oh my!
Thanks so much, Sheila…looking forward to your table and blog-hopping this week!
What could be more romantic than a cozy dinner by the fire?! Beautiful setting.
Thanks so much, Kim…looking forward to the rest of the week blog-hopping with you!
Pam, we have the same idea of a romantic dinner ~ in front of the fireplace! I love the dinnerware and candles and your menu sounds divine. Red Velvet cupcakes are my husband’s favorite and I make it for him every year. You’ve made a beautiful setting for a special evening with your hubby.
Thanks so much, Carol! Looking forward to your Tablescape on Wednesday!
First off, I love your post title “Romance & Roses” and you have captured the feeling that it conveys beautifully! Love the fireside setting and all the pinks and reds – the rose petals are precious! The place settings are so pretty with the delicate china and gorgeous sherberts. And I think I see some heart-shaped napkin rings that I have been on the look out for – great touch! The red velvet cupcakes look so yummy (and must be with a $1000 recipe behind them) but my mouth was watering for that chocolate drink – what a fantastic pic of it! So fun participating in this lovely blog hop with you!
Thanks so much, Lori. I love participating and am grateful to Chloe for assembling all of us! Happy weekend!

Thanks so much, Sherry and for the invite to link-up! Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Definitely romantic and beautiful! Love the thick layering of rose petals. Those Fostoria stemware are stunning and the ruby red sherbets add another level of romance to your table. I made some Red Velvet Brownies the other day (Duncan Hines) and we both loved them. I’ll have to make more because Dan was sneaking in the kitchen to grab another bite quite often!
Liz, red velvet brownies sound delicious…I will have to look for the Duncan Hines!
Beautiful table for two and delicious looking menu.
Thanks for visiting, Sarah!
Love the story about your mom’s red velvet cake. I suspect it was for a good cause!
Thanks also for including this beautiful table in the line up at Celebrate Your Story Link Party!
My pleasure, Sandra…Happy Saturday!
