“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”
John 3:16
Hello sweet friends…from the country! If you have been following our blog for a while you know that we live on about twenty acres in the Appalachian Foothills here in Northeast Alabama. And there is no telling what you will see when you look out into our pasture! We’ve seen it all…foxes, raccoons, deer, rabbits, and unfortunately coyotes and armadillos. During this time of year, our resident turkeys are out in full force…and I know you’re wondering “what in the world does this have to do with Tablescape Tuesday?” I’m glad you asked! Last Wednesday afternoon, Butch was home and per usual, he was watching several gobblers that were wandering about in the pasture. They moved to the side of the house, so he went to look out our bedroom window. And I heard him yell for me to get back there quick…I had NO idea what to expect! As I was walking into the room, he said “you will not believe your eyes”…
…and I didn’t! Three gobblers and a male PEACOCK! Yes, you read that right…a PEACOCK! Now where in the world did he come from?! Your guess is as good as ours…but apparently he has made friends with the turkeys. And that wasn’t his only appearance…I saw him again on Friday! A mystery, indeed! Now let’s get back to the tablescape and we will tie this all together! Friday was Butch’s birthday and the two of us celebrated at a favorite restaurant in Birmingham. His “official” party was Saturday, and how else would we celebrate other than a peacock party! Since I already had peacock salad plates and we now have a resident peacock, why not?!
The peacock salad plates were found last year at TJ Maxx, I saw them a few weeks ago, so they are still available. White dinner plates and wicker chargers complete the stack!
Blue hydrangeas are always a perfect centerpiece!
My snowball bushes are loaded with blooms…I filled two square vases with their large blooms.
Scattered peacock feathers were added to the blue and white tablecloth!
Noritake “sweet swirl-dark blue” stemware and turquoise napkins complement the hues of the peacock feathers.

Our DIL made the cute shirt that our precious girl is wearing. It says “I love my Da”. Hopefully, she will call Butch, “Da” which is what her daddy stills calls him. Needless to say, it melted my sentimental husband’s heart!

Pam, I love your peacock themed table! The rich colors are gorgeous, and those peacock plates are beautiful! What a perfect table for a special birthday celebration. How exciting to see a peacock in your yard. Where I live we see all sorts of wonderful wildlife too, especially turkeys. Yesterday, we saw a road runner. He was so fun to watch! I hope you enjoy this beautiful Spring day! Happy Tuesday!!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, sweet Shannon. We love our resident wildlife!

Happy Tuesday, Pam! “TABLESCCAPE TUESDAY: A PEACOCK PARTY!” Anxiously I wanted to read if it was your tablescape decor or part of your menu. Yea, I was tickled and anxious to see what it was about. It’s beautiful! And to my surprise, I couldn’t believe what I saw. I have the complimentary dinnerware that is often found displayed next to the peacock dinnerware at T.J. MAXX. (They are also found at a company called Replacement) Mine have a floral design. And to add to this, I have the identical stemware which I love. All I need is the napkins. You did bring some sweet memories to me and that was the blue hydrangeas I once grew at a former home we had. What else can I…. SO PRETTY! Blessings, Lupe
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Lupe, how amazing that you have the same stemware and the complimentary dinner plates. I love hydrangeas and I grow limelights! Thanks so much for you sweet comments and wishing you a Happy Tuesday!

Pam, what a fantastic reason to mix many shades of blue together! Peacock feathers are so pretty, and your plates are lovely. I enjoy seeing the different ways you use snowball bush blooms in your tablescapes. Your hydrangea blooms are the star on your table! Are your bushes blooming already? (Mine aren’t.) Happy Tuesday, my friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
No blooms yet for hydrangeas, but Whole Foods was blooming?
Leslie Anne Tarabella says
I don’t know if I should be more amazed that you had a peacock in your yard, or that you have peacock dishes on hand for just such occasion! I guess I should have known you’d have the dinnerware ready for any situation! Love-love it all!

Linda, inspiration can come from almost anywhere!

Well what a nice birthday surprise! Looks like a front page picture to me! Seriously, you should enter it in the photography contest. There is an Alabama Wildlife magazine that has a contest. I will try to find a copy that I have and be sure of the name of the magazine.
Your tablescape is so pretty with my favorite flower. So funny you just happened to have some peacock plates.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Bonnie, thanks. The photo of the turkeys and peacock was taken through the window. Butch was afraid if we opened the window it would scare the turkeys off and perhaps the peacock! Have a beautiful Wednesday!
Donna Bianca says
Such a gorgeous tablescape! No peacocks in my flat, but I have some vintage peacock salad plates from Bavaria. I’ll show them on my blog soon, your tablescape is very inspiring!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Donna, I will be looking for that post including your peacock plates from Bavaria!

Love this table Pam! What a funny “tribe” … turkeys and a Peacock! .. but must say the table is no laughing matter…it is so beautiful! Your “snowball” tree is gorgeous…my Snowball Viburnum is a teeny thing..just planted it last Fall…it had lots of buds, then the temps dropped to the 20’s for a couple of days and zapped them…Happy Birthday to Butch!!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Shirley. My snowballs are slightly bitten by the frost, not nearly as pretty as last year. Have a wonderful day!
Jann Olson says
I’m glad that the peacock feels at home among the turkeys. The plates are so unique and the snowballs and hydrangeas are gorgeous! I can’t wait until I have snowballs to clip from my garden. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

I grew up in an area of So Cal where peacocks were abundant, it was always a thrill to see one strutting about, how lucky you are to have one in residence Pam! And of course you had plates! Fabulous! and little Miss Cutie is quite the peacock herself!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Jenna, the peacock is still in residence. But where did he come from is the mystery!!!

Pam,
I hope your husband had a wonderful birthday. The peacock tablescape is stunning with each carefully palced detail. The peacock in the back yard with the turkeys is interesting but I guess it takes all kinds to make a family. LOL Thank you for sharing your talent with TADA.
Happy Creating,
Karen Marie
