“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”
Psalms 127:1
If you’re anything at all like me, you wait until the last minute to do things…Procrastination is my middle name! This past weekend on Saturday evening, I still had no idea what I would do for a tablescape..I only knew I wanted to be in the garden or on the patio. Sunday rolls around, and I knew I needed to get my act together if I was going to get a table done! I made a quick stop by the grocery store after church and found a dozen beautiful yellow roses, which I haven’t used in a long time! Alarms went off and I now had a plan! I have a cheerful floral tablecloth with touches of yellow that would be the perfect match! But the weather on Sunday evening and yesterday had other plans…no outside tablescape this week! So this week, we find ourselves inside at the dining room table, sans the floral cloth I mentioned. And just in case you decide to count, there are only eleven yellow roses, because that is the number of bottles that fit in the wooden box! Now you know!
The bottle runner from Kirkland’s is always fun to use…no need for a floral arrangement, just a stem in each bottle works well!
The American Atelier “Baroque” is my go to dinnerware! A favorite napkin ring holds a cheerful yellow napkin!

A ruffled burlap table runner adds texture!
The placemats are paper and I am ok with it…really I am!
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
I will enjoy the roses all week! Please make me feel better and tell me I am not the only one who procrastinates!

I can’t say that I’m a procrastinator, more like the polar opposite in that I tend to overplan things. However, sometimes spur of the moment turns out the be fabulous, and your table proves it. I’ve never seen paper placemats so pretty, and the simplicity wins in my book. I also like rustic with refined, and your table does that for me too. Enjoy the blooms, they’re lovely as your centerpiece.
Rita, I just knew that you are extremely organized and that you don’t fly by the seat of your pants! Have a wonderful Tuesday!
I do procrastinate about some things, but mostly those that involve cleaning house. I feel like I’m wasting my time since farm dust covers everything so quickly. And, then there’s the dog, and now two, temporarily…. I originally saw this post on my phone, and the pictures (which fill the screen fully) are stunning! No notice of paper place mats. Next time don’t mention it, and we’ll never know! No shame in paper, though – napkins, either. I love your yellow and white table. Sort of simple but completely elegant and pretty. As always, last minute or not, gorgeous and well done! Happy Tuesday, my friend. 🙂
Kim, I know you are well organized with your blog and tutorials. I would imagine you have all your posts figured out for the next three months! I procrastinate really bad about house cleaning these days. Have a blessed Tuesday!
The yellow roses are beautiful Pam . And I really love those napkin rings . So different and so sweet . I always enjoy your pretty tablescapes . Hugs and blessings , Cindy
Thanks so much, Cindy…you are the sweetest!
Lovely. I would like to see more of the paper placemat and hear more about how and where they come from?
I purchased these a couple of years ago in a lovely shop called Lamb’s Ear in Birmingham. They come in a pad of 30 sheets and there are many designs to choose from…I just liked the swan! Thanks so much!
That centerpiece is so elegant and so simple and it looks just marvelous with the more formal china. Another winner, Pam!
Thanks so much, Jeanie!
For your roses you’ve used my favorite containers…bottles. Inside or out your table has its usual appeal.
Thanks, Linda. Bottles always work!
Love your tablescape! I’d love to know where you found your bottles: the centerpiece is cheery, elegant and perfect for a spring or summer table! I find that when I do procrastinate (which is often!) I have more success with my tables. I don’t overthink them and they come together easier and somehow more natural. All the elements of your table make it a welcoming space. Absolutely lovely! Bravo! Rosie
Thanks so much, Rosie. The bottles and the wooden box came as a set from Kirkland’s last year and it is still available. Happy Wednesday!
Bet you will NEVER do one I don’t like!! ♥️
That is so sweet! I try very hard! Happy Wednesday!
A most beautiful table to brighten up a rainy dayt!….Love how you used the yellow and white..a table filled with such cheerful charm! I think our rain is beginning to let up! Been raining here too for days!….Looking forward to your outdoor tablescape when the rain leaves!
Hi Shirley, the sunshine returned late yesterday afternoon, but rain again tomorrow. But, I am not complaining! Happy Wednesday!
Ha sido un gran acierto comprar rosas amarillas porque han quedado preciosas en la mesa tanto preparada para comer como solamente de adorno.
Alabo tu gusto personal y tu creatividad.
Dolores
It has been a great success buying yellow roses because they have been beautiful on the table both ready to eat and only adornment.
I praise your personal taste and your creativity.
Dolores
Dolores, muchas gracias. Estoy disfrutando las rosas amarillas. ¡Espero que lo estás haciendo bien! Abrazos, Pam
Dolores, thank you so much. I am enjoying the yellow roses. I hope you are doing well! Hugs, Pam
Such stunning beautiful and fresh yellow roses. Striking tablescape with your lovely plate stack and perfect shade of yellow napkins with the cutest napkin ring. Your box container and bottles make a great statement sitting on your burlap runner with white ruffles.
You could hardly tell it rained here. Have a great week.
Bonnie, we had wonderful rain and my garden is so appreciative. Thanks and wishing you a wonderful week!
Beautiful table and gorgeous photos!!! It all looks stunning. I am a last minute person, I don’t mean to be- but life keeps getting in the way !! I just recently bought a planner and started writing down ideas so I could plan ahead, but I moved kind of far out from any stores, so if I don’t have what I need or imagine in my head, it’s not always easy to just run out and get it. Your yellow is the sunshine we all are looking for! Have a nice week.
Ann, thanks so much. I don’t live near stores, either. So I do have to plan ahead for staples. Ha a lovely Wednesday!
Where did you find your bottles of different sizes? I would love to do something like this, but need a bottle source! Thanks in advance.
Hi Martha, I got the bottles and box at Kirkland’s when they were having a 25% off last year. But they are still available!
And 11 is my favorite number! Don’t you just love that grocery stores have pretty flowers now? Why didn’t they think of that long ago? I love the look you created with the formal flowers and the rustic box and bottles. So charming.
Grocery store flowers are the best!
I am crazy about the paper place mats Pam, they look like textile, shhhh…! I was wondering why 11 roses, numbers don’t matter, they are so pretty! I am crazy over the china too…Sometimes the last ideas are the best!
Jenna
Thanks Jenna! On occasion, I will use paper placemats because they are so pretty! Have a wonderful Thursday!
Beautiful table Pam. Love the napkin rings and the paper placemats. The roses look fabulous in the bottles via the rustic box. Such a pleasure to visit to see what you are designing.
Linda, you are so sweet! Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
My hand is raised- I admit I’m a procrastinator. I do my best work under pressure! Those are really pretty placemats and I agree there’s nothing wrong with using paper. Those yellow roses really brighten the spirit don’t they and your napkins match the roses perfectly! Those creamy white dishes are really beautiful!
Liz, thanks for telling me I am not the only procrastinator! Happy Weekend!
Hi, my name is procrastinator, and I put things off! I love the yellow roses and the beautiful cream dishes. Your tables cape says “spring, but not outside because the weather wont’ let us”!!
