“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30
Sweet friends, thank you so much for checking on me last week…I took a blogging break…the first once since I began almost three years ago. Don’t we all need a time of rest and refreshment and to quiet the noise? Butch and I took a short vacation and I can’t wait to share it with you next week!
You all I know I love alfesco dining…especially in our little garden! The temps have been perfect the past few days…and coupled with a gentle breeze that kept mosquitoes at bay! Don’t we all love that? This week’s setting is very simple and would be a sweet Mother’s Day table. My Mother would have loved it…and oh how I wish she was still with us so I could prepare her a special meal! Please pull up a chair and join us today!

An ironstone pitcher filled with yellow tulips is a simple centerpiece.
The colorful tablecloth was a TJ Maxx find last year…
..as well as the placemats and melamine dinner and salad plates.
***
Noritake “sweet swirl-midnight” stemware is often seen on our table…a surprise gift from Butch many years ago!
As the sun begins to set, I love its glow on our garden.

Since blue and yellow is my favorite color combination, I love this!
Thanks Patti…always a good color combo!
Beautiful garden light captured in an equally pretty tablescape, Pam. Yes, I wondered about you last week too, but guessed correctly that you were likely on a vacation. Looking forward to hearing about it and seeing photos!
Thanks Rita…it was so good to be able to set a table in the garden! Have a wonderful weekend!
Welcome back, Pam! I’m looking forward to hearing about your little vacation break!
The table is gorgeous. I love those colors together and that tablecloth is just fabulous. Beautiful glassware, too. Wish I had my mom to do a pretty Mother’s Day table — she’d so appreciate it!
Thanks so much, Jeanie. The vacation was needed…have a beautiful weekend!
Blue and yellow is my favorite combination also! This is my first Mother’s Day without my mom. She lived in her own home to the very end at age 87. So we will be rejoicing she lived a long life and is in a better place now where she is healthy and happy. Mom was the epitome of a gracious Southern hostess and would so have appreciated your lovely table.
Roxanne, I am so sorry that you are experiencing the first Mother’s Day without you mom. My Mother sounds much like yours, the epitome of a gracious Southern hostess. My Mother has been gone ten years and there is not day that goes by that I don’t miss her and think of her. She was only 74 and it was sudden. Sending prayers and hugs for you!
Wow, Pam. This is so pretty – and peaceful too. Blue and yellow is always a favorite! So glad you and Butch had a good time on your trip. It’s fun to go, but it’s always nice to come home, isn’t it? Especially to a garden as lovely as yours. Tuesday blessings! 🙂
Kim, home is the best place to be for sure! Have a wonderful Mother’s Day my friend!
Just beautiful! Such a tranquil feel. Girl, I would be out there more than inside! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
You are such a sweetheart, Cindy! Hugs back at you!
Lovely! Seeing your table all set there ~ I am in your garden now. 🙂
Happy spring to you, Pam!

Always so beautiful and peaceful looking Pam!
Thanks so much, Pamela!
The table is so refreshing and just ready for a great garden party!…yes, your garden does have that beautiful glow as the sun begins to set….Your mother is looking down upon the beautiful table you set for her…she is undoubtedly so proud of you and the person you have become. That glow in the garden? It is your mother wrapping you with wonderful warmth.
Shirley, this is the most precious comment. Thank you for such sweet sentiments, my friend!
I love the bright, fresh look of this table setting. The tablecloth really sets the spring look for the meal. Beautiful!

This is perfect Pam! Blue and yellow are such a happy combination aren’t they? The view from your yard – those mountains – also perfect. I think I may go out and set a table in the yard in honor of my own mom today. Happy Mother’s day dear lady and blessings to you,
Patti

This is beautiful Pam and very inspirational. A few weeks back I bought tea towels that are similar to the colors and pattern of your tablecloth.

Pam where did you get your iron side pitcher? Thank you!
David, it came from TJ Maxx last year!
