“Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength”
Psalms 29:1
“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.”
Psalms 29:2
Zinnias provide lots of pretty color in the garden!
With all the rain…you get mushrooms!
Butch captured a pretty pink and blue sky over our garden!
A most beautiful evening on the Coosa River!
A fabulous appetizer of spaghetti alla chitarra…squid ink, gulf crabmeat, poblano peppers, and bread crumbs!
Crape myrtles with some blue sky last week!
Bucks Island here in our hometown has the most adorable houses on the water!
A lesson that I learned many years ago, never plant mint in the garden, it will completely take over! It seems to be content in the old terra-cotta pot!
Our vanilla strawberry hydrangeas are slightly tinged with pink, they need sunshine!
The limelights are in full bloom, love their color against the sunshine ligustrums!
“I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
Psalm 122:1

Absolutely gorgeous, Pam! My Limelights are just starting to send out their bloom buds – they are in bloom here (North Central WV), in the middle of August. My favorite photo is the last – such a glorious sunset. A magazine worthy photo!
As always, a lovely post !

Dear Pam, I notice that for your lands it has rained abundantly, in Madrid has been impressive the amount of water that has rained. Some stations of the Metro were flooded and the images of TV showed like great cataracts.
I smile at your comment about mint. Some time ago we had a chalet in the Sierra de Madrid. Antonio was no expert and planted mint in a parterre where there were some pretty roses and the mint managed to invade everything. The lesson was learned.
Very beautiful images of pink sky and I love the houses of Bucks Island, they are beautiful.

Dolores, me encanta tu historia de Antonio plantando la menta en un parterre. Suena como si hubieras tenido una abundancia de lluvia. Como siempre, me encantan sus visitas! Bendiciones y abrazos, Pam

Could you tell me where you got the teteur that is in the photo with the blue wrought iron chair? It is a beautiful photo mint and all. Love the blog and absolutely fell in love with your small formal bathroom that was shown in an earlier post. Thanks

Melinda, thanks so much for your visit and sweet comments. The garden tuteur was bought many years ago, probably 15 or so. I bought a pair along with an armillary from a local place. I don’t know if you could find something similar on-line. Good luck ?

Sundays at your place are always delightful. I planted zinnias for the first time ever this year (from seed) and I’m head over heels in love. Why, oh why, did I never try this flower in my gardens before? I have a question for you. I’ve been planting a new garden area in my backyard and the still bare areas are red clay, which doesn’t look very pretty. Do you use some kind of topsoil or mulch in your flower beds that you like the look of? Over time I’m sure the bare spots will fill in so I don’t really want to do something like bark. I’d love your expertise my friend.
Thank you so much,
Patti

Thanks so much, Patti. Zinnias are a perfect cutting flower, also! We use a very chipped up bark in our garden area, it looks nice and natural. It is very small pieces. In our front landscape, we use a lot of pine straw around our trees. I hope that helps! I still have so much to learn about gardening, it truly is a lot of trial and error! Happy weekend!
