“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
Hello sweet friends from the very hot and humid Appalachian foothills! I am always thrilled that you choose to visit with me any day of the week, but especially on Tuesdays as we do one of my favorite things…tablescape! And if you have been around my little corner of the blog world for very long, you know that I am usually outside under the pergola on the patio or in our little haven…the garden! This week, I am joining a group of very talented ladies to bring you a Summertime Tablescape Blog Hop! Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate is our fabulous host and you are all in for a real treat…so be sure to check out the full line-up that is at the bottom of the post! Please pull up a chair and enjoy with me a little blue and white on a summer night!
I absolutely love blue and white! It is timeless and always fresh in its appearance whether on a table setting or a room’s color scheme!
Yes, I hauled out the dining room chairs…and they are quite heavy, but worth the effort for a touch of elegance!
I have had so many comments from my sweet readers about the ornamental grasses. Butch loves them and insisted that they were placed in our landscape…it was a good decision!
As long as hydrangeas are blooming, they will be popping up on “Tablescape Tuesday“. I think they are especially beautiful in the blue and white vase.
Spode dinner plates in the Blue Room collection rest on gold chargers. Crystal candle stands with small vases of hydrangeas round out the center of the table.
I know I just used my favorite ice tea glasses a few weeks ago, but they just belonged on this table! I mixed in vintage Fostoria stemware!
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
As the sun was setting, it was time to light the candles!

A special thank you to all of my readers…you are the sweetest blessings!

Your garden is such a lovely setting for any table (certainly without any table at all, too!), Pam. A blue & white table setting can give the appearance of cool & calm, no matter what the thermometer and humidity are! It’s all so pretty, and the candlelight really makes it special as the sun sets. I always look forward to your tables, and your garden makes a perfect backdrop for it. I’m so glad you’re a part of this week’s lineup!
Judging by the abundance of hydrangeas, I take it you don’t have a deer issue, and that’s fabulous. What a shame that would be. I know the grasses help deter the deer too, but I don’t believe I’ve ever heard you mention pest issues at all.
Thanks so much Rita! We rarely go a day without seeing at least three deer in our back or front pastures. Butch has an automatic feeder for them and it is funny to watch them stand and wait for it to go off. We have so much wildlife: deer, turkeys, foxes, raccoons, the detested armadillo that migrated from the south into our Foothills, and a peacock that showed up one day (he is still a mystery! Last fall, when the drought was taking its toll, the deer ate a couple of my day lilies down to the ground, but they came back beautifully this spring. I fear that one day I will look out to see the garden totally destroyed.
Pam, Your beautiful blue and white setting against the backdrop of your lovely outdoors is wonderful. So serene. It don’t know if it’s hot, but it looks cool and so inviting. I’m a hydrangea fan and the blue and white ones in your vases are stunning.
Carol, I had to wait for a day without rain and that was Sunday. It was very humid, but the table had a cooling effect! Thanks so much and it is a pleasure to be hopping with you this week!
Everything is so beautiful. You have set a perfect stage for a wonderful meal and fellowship.
I am a lover of blue and white also, as well as Spode. My Spode pattern is Tower Blue. Love your ice tea goblets – they are so pretty with the Spode.
All just stunning !
Thanks Sandra…I think most people like blue and white!
Your table is beautiful enough for so many special occasions. There really is nothing like blue and white. It is why my kitchen will always be those pretty colors!
AnnMarie, I love blue and white kitchens, I know yours is lovely!
You always style the prettiest tables, and this one is especially elegant. I love when I see indoor furniture featured out of doors, it really makes the setting special, and your beautiful classic chairs are just the thing to add that elegance to your tablescape. I have become such a lover of blue and white, so this is especially attractive to me! Thank you so much for being a part of the blog hop!
Thanks Chloe…blue and white will always be a favorite of mine!
Wow. Your hydrangea blooms are wonderful in your blue and white vase! Butch was right. I’m not normally an ornamental grass “person”, but they add so much to your garden! Everything seems to be at its peak of health and bloom. Absolutely stunning!
Kim, thanks so much! Some of my potted plants have suffered from too much rain!
Every detail is perfect. I don’t know that you mentioned it but the accent pillow was also a perfect touch. Love blue and white. I call it the great harmonizer. It is calming and relaxing. The backdrop of all your hydrangeas and the grass is quite beautiful. A delight for my eyes and soul this morning. Dianne Sharpe
Dianne, thanks so much! Blue and white is the great harmonizer…and remains a favorite of mine!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! No other words needed.
Nancy, you are so sweet…thank you!
Pam , just absolutely beautiful . Hugs and blessing, Cindy
Thank you Cindy…hugs and blessings to you sweet lady!
This is truly beautiful Pam, and you are brave to use your gorgeous chairs outside during this dicey weather! The grasses make such a fabulous backdrop!!
Jenna
Jenna, fortunately we have had three days without rain! Last year we were hoping to squeeze a drop or two from a passing cloud!
This is so gorgeous, it needs to be in a magazine! In fact, if a publication does not pick this up, I will be shocked. Your gardens are stunning, and the tablescape is lovely. The dining room chairs were a great choice and worth the trouble, like you said. I am in love with your candlesticks!
Julie, you are so gracious and kind! Thanks so much!
Thank you for the work you and your husband put into your table settings. I enjoy them so much!
Thanks so much, and the blog is my hobby, so I enjoy it!
Everything about this setting is just fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for visiting, Robyn! Blessings~
I agree, this should be in a magazine. You know I’m crazy about blue and white so I love this table. It does invoke a coolness which is welcome in our heat.
Your garden is especially beautiful and provides a gorgeous backdrop. There is nothing I don’t love about this post.
Thanks so much, Bonnie! We have a little reprieve from the humidity, certainly won’t last. I know you enjoyed your trip, but always nice to get back home safely!
I’m absolutely in love with your table, Pam! Blue and white is always charming, and your tablesetting looks so sweet and elegant!
(A little spoiler: my tablescape is in blue and white too 😉 )
Donna, thank you and I will be looking for your blue and white table!
Another gorgeous table! I, too, love blue and white and you really sent it out of the park here! Love the china — I’m glad you said the pattern, I was wondering!
Thanks Jeanie, always love your visits!
Wow Pam, your summer tablescape is just stunning. I can’t believe you drug your table and chairs outdoors but what an amazing statement you made. Blue and white is one of my favorite color combos too and you created a truly elegant table.
Thanks so much, Shelly!
Beautiful setting–elegant and fresh blue tablescape–always love transferware.
Thank you so much, Lisa!
Oh my Pam, your table is spectacular. I love blue and white.. It is such a timeless combination and you have styled this combo beautifully. But may I say that your garden is magical. What a serene and dreamy place to be. You are a woman after my own heart!!! I take my dining furniture outdoors all the time…
You have exquisite taste my dear. Love it all. So happy to be joining you on this summer table blog hop.

Thanks so much, Shirley!
I don’t know what it tis about blue and white that draws us in, but you’ve captured the best of it. So perfect and sweet. So charming and clean-looing!
Thanks so much, Leslie Anne! Have a wonderful weekend!
Dolores
My dear Pam, I think you have outdone yourself this time. The White-Blue result is perfect and totally matches my own taste because these two colors give a serene, elegant atmosphere, which combines very well for an evening dinner with friends.
My congratulations. I take note of the people who will be exhibiting their tables throughout the week.
A big hug
Dolores
¡Querida Dolores, me alegro de que te guste el azul y el blanco también! ¡Siempre eres tan amable con tus comentarios! Bendiciones y abrazos, Pam
My dear Dolores, I am so glad that you like blue and white, also! You are always so kind with your comments! Blessings and hugs, Pam
Oh my goodness I am OBSESSED with all of that blue and white! It is truly stunning. I love your collection!!
Thanks so much!
What an exquisite tablescape! Breath taking!!!
Thanks so much, Maristella!
What a stunning table, I love that you brought it outside, that is glorious! Blue & White is a favorite of mine, but one I don’t have personally, so I love to see it at other’s homes! Transferware is another favorite, you have such gorgeous pieces! Love that you can grow hydrangeas too, I am so jealous. Beautiful tablescape, so glad to be joining along with you in the hop. Kim
Thanks so much, Kim…the blog hop is fun!
This is a beautiful table Pam. The pretty blue and white bring a coolness to the outdoor heat. Thanks for sharing it with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Thanks Jann!
My goodness. This is absolutely splendid, what else can I say!! Absolutely gorgeous, I want to pin EVERY picture!!
Thanks so much for your sweet comments!
In our first apartment 53 years ago I made blue gingham valances with white shutters in our kitchen. Today, I use a form of blue throughout our home. Love your tablescapes and just subscribed to your blog. Thanks for sharing your faith in scriptures. Only hope for our crazy world.
Thanks for your visit and sweet comments and for subscribing to my little blog! Blessings to you, Sharon Elaine!
Very pretty! I love all the blue.
Simply elegant, Pam! You have a beautiful setting in a gorgeous garden….Christine
Thanks so much for your visit…Happy Weekend!
What a beautifully set table and the blue & white colors are sooo pretty. It all blends so nicely. I love the idea of using 4 candles instead of just two. Again the blue & white blends so well. Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
Thanks so much for the visit, Elizabeth! Wishing you a wonderful week
Pam, your table looks so beautiful, especially with your gorgeous yard as a backdrop. The blue and white is lovely and so chic. Lovely elements to make this table pop. Always a blessing to visit. Apparently my invitation to this tablescape blog hop didn’t arrive. Chloe has apologized, saying many did not go through. Happy summer.
Linda, I didn’t get the invite either. When I saw it on someone’s blog, I emailed her. I had to throw it together last minute. I have been meaning to email you sweet lady, for some reason I can’t comment on your blog. It is probably me, but I would love to comment, but it won’t let me. Help
Stunning! You did a magnificent job and how delicious and romantic it is for an evening meal. The blue and white is gorgeous, my fa.
FABBY
Thanks so much, Fabby!

Ann, thanks so much! Gardening is time consuming, but it has its rewards!
What a gorgeous setting! And the table is set so beautiful! Would love it if you linked it up at our party on my blog please. Have a wonderful week!
Thank you for the invite, and I linked up!
Gorgeous! You know I love blue and white tablescapes. 🙂
Thanks so much, Sheila! ?
What a gorgeous setting for an elegant dinner. The view of your garden is breathtaking. I love the blue & white accents. I especially love those big, beautiful hydrangea blossoms.
Carol (“Mimi”) from Home with Mimi
Simply gorgeous Pam! Spode is so classic and blue and white is always beautiful, but especially welcome in the summer…I feel 10 degrees cooler already! Our Maiden grass isn’t close to blooming yet, it’s usually August before the plumes make an appearance.
Thanks Mary, our maiden grass bloomed particularly early this year!
Stunning table, you gotta love the blue and white combo for the table. The maiden grass is beautiful and so showy. I don’t have any at this house but think I am going to invest in some.
Judy, you would love the maiden grass!
Oh, the blue and white are just breathtaking! And your hydrangeas are gorgeous. Loved the way you mixed and matched all the blues…just lovely. What a treat to be a guest at your table !
Thank you for visiting, Ann!
