“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ”
Galatians 6:2
Hello and Happy Tuesday, sweet friends. I hope everyone is having a good week so far. We had a horrible storm blow through late yesterday afternoon causing some damage. A lot of tree limbs were broken, our limelight hydrangeas and sunflowers are down on the ground from the high winds and torrential rains, and the garden umbrella is broken beyond repair. As I am writing, Butch is working on the limbs and hopefully the limelights and sunflowers will stand back up when they dry out. But, we are safe and our house didn’t receive any damage for which we are very thankful for God’s protection. Whew…on a lighter note, I am sharing a very simple and easy tablescape. After all, isn’t summer all about “taking it easy”?!!
*
This tablescape came together very quickly…using what I had on hand made it easy!
Butch and I had dinner in Birmingham last Thursday, which meant we could make a pit stop at Trader Joe’s. I picked up the irises just because, not really planning a tablescape. By Sunday they were looking a little spent, but they were still presentable!
I trimmed a little variegated ivy from the yard to place on the table, quick and simple!
An April Cornell tablecloth provides soft colors!

*Thanks so much for visiting with me…wishing you a joy-filled day!

Pam, I’m sorry to hear you had some damage from the storm. Hopefully the plants will recover but I know you feel comforted knowing the house remained unharmed.
Your table looks oh, so calm comparatively! I love April Cornell textiles. Paisley always is so classic, and the water hyacinth mats are a great staple. The irises look really pretty, still standing tall, almost like candlesricks. Pretty color combo.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Rita. The storm came up so sudden and the wind was changing directions and swirling, at least 50 mph. I was frightened to say the least. Thanks for your sweet words.

Oh no, your beautiful garden! Your table is perfectly lovely and so serene, quite the opposite of the stormy weather you’ve been having! I love the texture contrasts and my favorite blue paired with the natural mats, really gorgeous! I am heading that way today and nervous about the daily storms and excessive heat, I’ve been spoiled the last month on the coast. I am so sorry about your flowers Pam, I hope they bounce back!

I am still hoping that I might see some sunflower blooms, Jenna!

Thank God you and Butch are safe. When bad storms come my way I cringe thinking of the damage they are doing but I remember “it rains on the just and unjust” and pick myself up and start all over again just as you and Butch are doing. Your gardens are unbelievably beautiful. Just try to remind yourself that pruning is good for the trees and us. Take care.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alice, what sweet comments dear friend! God is sovereign over all things!

Sorry for your scare and damage. I bet your plants will bounce back quickly. Thankful everything else is ok.
Your table is peaceful and calm despite your bad weather with beautiful soft colors and great textures. I like the paisley tablecloth, water hyacinth placemats, and the cute napkins rings.
Lost my first comment. It was better, LOL! You’d think I could remember how I wrote it a minute before!!!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Bonnie, losing comments are frustrating. This morning I lost a comment four times! I am not complaining, I have much to be grateful for!?
Kim says
Gorgeous! Dutch Iris is one of my favorites. The coloring of their cobalt and yellow is so striking! The soft colors in the table cloth are so pretty against the strong contrast of the iris. I’m glad you and Butch are safe – and your house. I hope your flowers get their strength again soon!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, still hoping for the sunflowers!

Pam, I am sorry to hear of the damage. I, too, hope your Hydrainges will recover. We have had some really bad late afternoon storms here with limbs all over the yard. As others have said, you have set a very calm and beautiful table for all of us to enjoy. God Bless. Dianne

Blessing to you, hope to see you at the Gardens Galore link up on Monday! ?

Pam: So sorry to hear about your dreadful storm. It does make your heart sick to see your blooming beauties beat up from a storm. Thankful for you that you and family were safe and received no damage to your home.
Your table is, as always, absolutely lovely. Love the colors and the containers for your irises. A beautiful post.
Have a wonderful week and many thanks for the uplifting inspiration !

Can’t imagine your beautiful gardens broken up!
In the hands of the master gardeners (you and Butch), I am sure it will be gorgeous than ever. Me? I’d probably stand there & cry!
I love the teal/turquoise arrangement. The irises gave the pastel a pretty pop!
Beautiful as always! ??
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks my dear friend. We know who controls the weather and He is sovereign over our lives! Blessings and hugs!

Dear Pam,
Simply perfect ! I marvel each week at your gorgeous tablescapes ( and I use your ideas !)
Today’s post is so summer soft and soothing . So pretty.
My dilemma is storage space – especially for glassware… and then when I find a spot , I tend to forget what I have ! Any ideas ??? Perhaps I need to create a directory “where” in my home I have placed things . My grown adult children should take their items from their closets and I’d have more space …
Someday …
Summer storms can be dangerous and damaging for sure . Thankfully , you are safe .
Take care .
Where did you purchase the napkin rings ??
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Hi Christine, thank you for your sweet comments! Storage is always a challenge, so far I am managing! The napkin rings came from a shop in Fairhope, AL several years ago! I am honored that you would use my ideas! ?

This has been quite a summer for storms! So sorry you were in the path. I’ve been away from the blog for a while, and it’s good to see such a fresh, lovely page here.

Thanks Leslie Anne, I know you have been working on your book and I am excited for it to come out, can’t wait to read!

Pam, I am so glad things are okay for you all in the nest of that storm. Yes, God’s protection covered you for sure. And I don’t know what you mean by simple tablescape! That is so beautiful. I love the colors. The napkin rings are too cute. Good grief…..can you come to Florida and let’s have a Tablescape party or something? LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Cindy! Let’s have a Tablescape party, my friend! Hugs!

Gorgeous Pam, I love seeing your beautiful garden and your Limelights look like they are in good shape in the background. I hope your sunflowers didn’t take too much of a beating. We have missed those storms but they have been all around us. I’m actually wishing we would get a little rain, (without the damaging winds) which is hard to believe after all we had in June!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Mary, there is one thing for sure, we can’t predict the weather. Our gardens are at its mercy!
Pam says
What a gorgeous table! The aqua colors are amazing. The iris in the bottles is genius!

Wow Pam, what a storm! I’m glad that you and your home are okay. Love this sweet and simple tablescape. I have this type of Iris growing in my garden in the spring. I’ve never thought to use them in a tablescape. Very beautiful! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Pretty table with all those aqua details. Glad you didn’t have any home damage from the storm. These summer storms are scary. We had one blow in this afternoon, but it didn’t rain here. The map showed heavy rain coming our way, but obviously it broke up before it arrived. Hope your garden recovers.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
The garden is recovering, for which I am thankful! We have had storms nearby for the past few days, but we have only received the wind and no rain!
Chloe Crabtree says
I am glad the garden is recovering from the storm. Your table is as lovely as ever. I love the tablecloth and the colors you used with it are so fresh!
