“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”
Psalms 139:23-24
I can hardly believe I am saying this, but Happy first day of August, sweet friends! The summer is winding down, and today I will start back doing what I love and look forward to…keeping our little Ella Mae! Our DIL is back to teaching, so guess what I’ll be doing three days a week? Playing, laughing and loving every moment with our granddaughter…time that I treasure!
We had a weekend of lower humidity, so it actually felt wonderful as I was setting the table under the pergola for today’s summer table! But my time outside didn’t end once the tablescape was packed up and inside…I kept the centerpiece on the table so that Butch and I could enjoy lingering way after dark with the subtle scent of lemons ‘n limes! Oh yeah…don’t forget to scroll all the way to the bottom for the winner of our giveaway!
My inspiration was the citrus patterned tablecloth that was made in Italy…a great find at TJ Maxx a couple of years ago!
I filled a pair of large hurricane globes with lemons and limes…
…and a lantern added ambiance to the setting!
Two large pots of Tropic Escape hibiscus bloom on the patio!
Amber stemware, everyday white dinner plates, and Bordallo Pinheiro salad plates round out each place setting.
Chevron patterned napkins are cinched with artisan crafted bark napkin rings…water hyacinth placemats add warmth and texture.
What is unique about this type of hibiscus is that there are different colors of bloom on a single plant!

Beautiful, Pam! Love the green and yellow refreshing tablescape. I can smell the lemons and limes and the cooler air is so lovely. I wish it could stay like this. Your chevron napkins look great with your floral cloth and the amber goblets add just the right touch of warmth. I want some water hyacinth placemats. You use them so effectively and they add that special texture to your tables.
I love your Hibiscus and it is neat there are different color blooms on one plant.

Bonnie, I found the water hyacinth placemats at Tuesday Morning a couple of years ago at a really good price, they can be a little price! The air was still nice this morning, but got hot during the day!

I love that tablecloth! And I really do need to get some placemats like that — I used to have some that got badly water damaged and I always really loved how versatile they are with different dishes and place settings. I love it, Pam!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Jeanie! I agree, the placemats can be used with anything!

That’s a perfect table for right now, Pam! Just a little hint of the season sneaking around the corner, waiting to take center stage with those amber colored glasses, while the lemons still claim their spotlight of summer. Love the angles of light you’ve captured, another sign of the upcoming season with its golden color. The green limes, plates, and leaves in the pretty cloth bridge both the summer and hint of fall seasons. Well done!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Rita! I am ready for fall weather, but I still want to savor summer!

What would we do without TJ Maxx! Most everything I have for the table in Maine came from there. I have way more than I need but still find it hard to resist more. Your lemons and limes table is anything but sour!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
TJ Max is my go to, it is 60 miles to the nearest Home Goods, Pottery Barn, Sur a Table, etc!
lulu says
Much like here.

I’m on a trip and only posting twice this week. It’s driving me crazy to not be “in touch” with everyone like normal. I decided to take sort of a blog vacation. Haven’t done that in 4.5 years. Sort of feel like I’ve earned it. Happy week! ?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
You have earned it, enjoy my friend! Just wanted to make sure everything was ok!

Lemons and limes are some of my favorite things to decorate with! Such a most fresh and beautiful table Pam. Having lived in Florida for many years, I miss having citrus trees and hibiscus in the yard. I tried growing hibiscus here with no luck … the cold and the deer! Have not seen that variety of hibiscus with the multiple colors…so pretty!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Shirley! I am enjoying this variety of hibiscus!
