“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,”
2 Corinthians 4:17
“as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:18
Coosa River Memorial Bridge architecture
Early evening scenic walk by the river
The Coosa River Memorial Bridge was opened in 1927.
The glow of an August sunset in our garden!
A perfect summer appetizer of oven roasted figs with goat cheese, prosciutto, walnuts, and mint!
The mushrooms appear to be hatching…
…mother mushroom overseeing the little ones…
…this little village was discovered under our very old oak tree that would ordinarily be extremely dry in August!
View from under the old oak tree!
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
1 Corinthians 15:58

Love the August angles of light! Around bridges is typically where you’ll see the nasties, but your town looks so clean. I captured mushrooms this week in my landscape beds too. Yours DO appear to be hatching! 😉 Such a gorgeous view under that tree…..
Thanks so much Rita! Our city has invested lots of money to make our river area attractive! Have a wonderful Sunday!
Beautiful!
Thanks so much!
Good Morning Pam: The photos of the architectural structure of the bridge is really something. Love all the photos, but my favorites are the view from under your grand old oak tree and the magnificent sunset.
Your community looks like a lovely, sweet place on this dear earth.
Thank you for another beautiful post. Have a wonderful day!
Sandra, our oak tree is over 100 years old! It provides a beautiful shade and held a swing for our son when he was growing up! Sweet memories!
Crazy cool mushrooms Pam, and I love all your artistic shots and viewing angles in your beautiful photos!
Jenna
Thanks Jenna, I have never seen this mushroom before!
Beautiful Pam but I’ve never seen red topped mushrooms. Fascinating! The view from the old oak tree is amazing. Happy eclipse day.
Alice, I have never seen this mushroom before. Butch saw it Friday when he was cutting grass!
The church’s blue doors look so inviting! I wonder if their membership rose after painting them. You have lots to enjoy in your area. Yes, I was so surprised to find mushrooms in our yard the other day where, just a couple of weeks ago, we had cracks in the ground from lack of rain. I enjoyed the bridge structures, the beautiful landscapes and skies. I pray you and your family have a blessed Sabbath!
Thanks so much, Kim. We have had a sweet day, hope yours was great!
Love that Corinthians passage! Thanks for sharing such beautiful photos 🙂 They’re perfect for a Sunday.
Elizabeth, thank you so much for your sweet visit!
What beautiful photos and words… so uplifting and encouraging. 🙂
Hi, Christine,
Could you please send me your email address so I can contact you? I tried to submit a comment under your “Contact Me”,but it wouldn’t “Submit”. Thanks, Rosie
Gorgeous pic. Certainly captures our America. Thanks.
Thank you Judy! Have a beautiful day!
I love bridges — they are all so different. Fun “hatching” mushrooms! Happy Thursday!
I had never seen this kind of mushroom growing!
Gorgeous! This definitely helps me anticipate Fall. Those mushrooms are just fabulous.
I love mushrooms and those are the most amazing ones I’ve ever seen. They remind me of the ones you see in children’s stories — red tops (sometimes with dots — I have tree ornaments like that!). So many lovely photos. I’m definitely not ready for fall, but this post reminds me of its beauty.
Jeanie, I have never seen that kind of mushroom before, they did look like something in a fairy tale!
