“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Colossians 3:16
Just when we thought summer was over here in our Appalachian Foothills, we had an encore! Last week Autumn teased us with a couple of days lingering in the 50’s, but today’s high is supposed to be 90 with humidity. Summer has made a comeback! Although the temps aren’t indicative, Friday is the official beginning of my favorite season! Today, we are on the patio with a fun new tablescape…I guess you can say I am “plaid” to welcome autumn!
The plaid tablecloth in perfect fall colors was discovered last week on a little shopping excursion at TJ Maxx!
I started gathering things from my stash of boxes stored away since last fall…
…heavy bronze-colored candle stands…
…pretty napkin rings with a little sparkle!
Copper colored tumblers and faux leather chargers add layers of autumn along with…
…a copper bowl filled with a burlap pumpkin and pods!
Leaf plates were added to ivory dinner plates!
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
Vintage napkins add the perfect finish to the table!
Are you ready for fall’s arrival on Friday? Thank you dear friends for all your visits and comments…they make my day!

What a beautiful table to welcome fall! I love that adorable burlap pumpkin with the colorful pods. I think I am going to have to make a trip to TJ Maxx. The tablecloth you found has such pretty autumn colors. We were teased too here in Oklahoma. We had some fall temperatures and now Summer has come back. It is supposed to be 93 here today. I am so ready for cooler temps! I hope that you have a happy Tuesday, sweet friend!!!
Thanks sweet friend…looking forward to your dining room reveal!
Oh Pam, how perfect! The plaid cloth is wonderful and I really love your leaf plates. I am seeing the first of autumn’s color here in Michigan this week. I’m not ready but that doesn’t seem to stop it so I’m embracing its beauty — and all the beauty here.
Love autumn’s beautiful color, thank you Jeanie!
It feels like Christmas when we open boxes from storage! We can enjoy our things all over again. Your candlesticks are stars on this table, and your burlap pumpkin is scrumptious! My word for this week is “muggy”. Hot, sticky…feels like summer. It’ll be back and forth between muggy and cool/refreshing until early November, as usual I’m sure. I always enjoy your garden view beyond your table – and I still love your light blue doors! Another gorgeous table, Pam. Happy Tuesday!
Thank you Kim. It doesn’t appear that we will have cooler temps anytime soon!
Beautifully dressed for autumn. I am in love with your candle stands and the burlap pumpkin. As always Pam, everything is so lovely.
Summer is also visiting us again here in the hills of West Virginia. It is to be in the upper 80’s through the middle of next week. I feel a bit silly with my pumpkin pillows on the porch and a fall wreath on the front door.
Have a beautiful week, we will see fall soon !
Thank you, Sandra! Happy Fall!
Love the tablecloth Pam, the subtle plaid and burnt orange is a gorgeous backdrop for your pumpkin, pods and leaf plates. Your pumpkin is so unique! You always have the most interesting glasses, so pretty!
Jenna
Thanks Jenna!
You inspire, Pam! I love autumn and my mind swirls with all the textures, colors, scents and thoughts of cooler air.
Love your burlap pumpkin and how you incorporated things you already had for a new look on today’s tablescape. Your wreath looks pretty on your door. I’m thinking about getting a new wreath this year. Mine is so old.
Beautiful colors you have put together. Fall has such beautiful natural colors. Always love your tablescapes.
Lovely! Plaid is my “signature color,” lol, so I especially like that element, but it all works so beautifully together.
Dear Pam, the staging is magnificent !! that beautiful color, that beautiful image is the table with the bottom of your garden that looks really splendid … I love your mastery in decoration.
I make an observation:
The glasses, besides being very beautiful, are very similar to the Moroccan style. In Morocco they drink tea (they do not drink alcoholic drinks) in glasses very similar to yours, perhaps a little smaller in size. They are beautiful…
A pleasure to be in your things.
Dolores
Beautiful, beautiful Fall table. Loving that burlap pumpkin! Ooh, I love to pop in to TJ Maxx when I can. Such a pretty tablecloth. Loving those glasses too. Pam, you always do amazing tablescapes. Always brightens my day to see your creativity. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Oh Pam such a beautiful tablescape! Love the burlaup pumpkin (home made?) and tumblers are a perfect final touch!
Thank you Donna, I wish I could say I made the burlap pumpkin, but I didn’t!
What would we do without TJ Maxx for that little something extra? I’m doing my best to stay away. Your table is a lovely tribute to the upcoming season.
Thanks Linda, I am spacing my trips to TJ Maxx!

I love plaid, Pam, and you know what else I love? I love that photo of your table where you face the brick wall of your home – it adds to the plaid!

Thanks so much! Happy Fall!
I love fall but I haven’t had “fall” in goodness knows how long!
My children & I try to get a glimpse of the leaves and a wisp of the autumn mornings the last few years when we race up to the mountains in Georgia or NC at thanksgiving for a week. Then we come home to endure another warm Christmas!
I just love these pictures as I dawdle and savor each one, and try to smell the autumn air, by studying the beautiful fall decor & colors!!
Love pumpkins & leaf plates!! ??
How nice that you do make a trip to the mountains at Thanksgiving! Blessings, my friend!
Your table is perfection! The vintage napkins and napkin rings are so beautiful and I absolutely love the tumblers. You are also blessed to have all the beauty of your home and gardens surrounding your lovely table. This table is a WOW!
Dianne, you are so sweet to visit me so faithfully! I appreciate all of your sweet and encouraging words. Now if only the temps would cooperate for fall’s arrival! Have a joy-filled Wednesday!
Pam another wonderful tablescape and “yes” I can’t wait for Fall. The leaves are already turning red and falling. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Sandy! Happy Fall!
Beautiful Fall table! Fall is one of my favorite seasons to decorate for. You gave me some really good ideas!
What a perfect tablecloth- love the colors. Those coppery tumblers are beautiful- love the design on them. I like that cloth pumpkin with the big metal handle! The faux leather chargers are so rich in color and texture and work so well with the big bronze candlesticks! We warmed up here too- heading for 90 deg. for the next two days. That’s about 20 degrees high for this time of year. No complaints here- summer weather is always welcome!
Wow, that is hot for your area this time of year! Happy Fall Liz!
Just beautiful Pam! I’m always ‘plaid’ to welcome fall and I love all your autumn table details! Those sparkly napkin rings have me drooling but the backdrop of your beautiful garden is the shining star. ♥
Thank you, Mary! ???
Oh, Pam, I love the way you’ve coordinated all your fall “pretties” with your new plaid tablecloth. Beautiful! Bravo!

Pam, that tablecloth is simply perfect for fall. I am a huge fan of plaid! Love the dishes and the stem on the pumpkin is so unique! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,

Thank you, Jann!
Plaid is so perfect for Fall. Your table immediately gives me such a cozy and welcoming feel. Beautiful!
Thank you Marsha!
I have the same pumpkin I bought on sale at the end of fall last year. The top loop on the stem was broken. I could have salvaged it by touching it up with some paint. Instead I took it off and replaced it with a real pumpkin stem I had dried! I always try to buy pumpkins with long stems and then save the stems when the season is over.
Pam, I always save pumpkin stems! Thanks for your visit!
This is such a gorgeous post! I will be pinning away! I just shared my fall home tour this week and I think you might like enjoy it! I am following you now on IG and I will be back to your blog too!
