“Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.”
Proverbs 17:27
We welcomed autumn last Friday, but our temps here in the Appalachian foothills apparently didn’t get the memo…we are still in the high 80’s! Whew! It’s almost too hot to be thinking about the seasons changing, but no matter what the thermometer says…I am in full blown fall decorating mode! My Renaissance Man brought home pumpkins and mums galore over the weekend, and our patio is dressed in its autumn finery…I can hardly wait to share it with you on Thursday!
Although the days have been warm, autumn’s evening chill is showing up, reminding us that we will soon see my favorite season in her full glory! This weekend, we pulled out the vintage Schwinn bicycle, loaded it with pumpkins and parked it in the garden to bring you this week’s tablescape!
My favorite alfresco spot is my very own backyard!
Dried limelight hydrangeas and pumpkins invite us to sit down!
Autumn’s evening chill calls for soup, right? If you missed my 10 “Soup”-er Foodie Fall Ideas that I posted last week, you might want to check it out!
The embroidered table square was purchased many years ago in Siena, Italy…a beautiful city in Tuscany…I love the olive design!
A candle nestled in popping corn adds another seasonal touch to our table for two!
Assorted pumpkins fill the bicycle basket…autumn bliss!
Cute soup crocks from TJ Maxx sit on plaid napkins!
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
A sweet stillness as the light fades over the garden!
Thank you sweet friends for your visits and comments…they make my day!

Love it, Pam especially the soup bowls and all your pumpkins!
Thank you Karen…Happy Tuesday!
Nothing like pumpkins and mums to get you in the mood. Can’t wait for it to be cool enough to make some of your soup recipes. It seems less humid. We had a tremendous hail storm Saturday out of the blue!
Love your table topper from Siena. Perfect with your glasses, bowls and napkins.
Congratulations again for being featured on Southern Lady’s Instagram and Facebook.
Thanks so much Bonnie! Did you receive damage from the hail storm, I sure hope not!
Another fabulous table! I love the pumpkins on it and those hydrangeas look particularly gorgeous in that vase. I do that corn/candle thing, too! It’s such a wonderful look with the other things you incorporated.
Too hot for soup here — in the 90s! I’ve never been swimming in the lake in late September till this year and I did it for the past four days and would today if I was still up north. But I loved that post and your soup looks perfect on the table!
Thank you Jeanie, that is late for swimming even here!
This is a beautiful transitional table saying fall is here but still keeping with the cooler shades of white and blue. Love your bicycle filled with pumpkins. Tablecloth is a treasure. I did not know about your feature on Southern Lady but I want to add my congratulations. You are so deserving and you are so gifted.
Thank you Dianne! I am thankful to have the opportunity to blog! Blessings and hugs!
So, so pretty Pam – as always. Love the soup bowls and the corn around the candle. And set in your fabulous garden is perfection!
We are to see 90 here today in the hills of West Virginia. Surely, autumn will arrive soon.
Lovely day to you and yours !
Thank you Sandra. Eventually fall temps will arrive, I can’t wait!
Oh I love the soup crocks! Everything is so nice and pretty. Congratulations on your feature in Southern Lady. WAY TO GO GIRL! Speaking of soup, I love soup all year round! Soup is something I never tire of eating. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Thanks so much, Cindy! Hugs and blessings!
Everything is just beautiful, Pam! I love the soup crocks and the beautiful table square from Italy. It adorns your table perfectly. That vintage bike with the pumpkins is the perfect finishing touch. We haven’t bought pumpkins yet because it has been too hot. We are going this weekend. We have a cool front coming through today, and the highs will be in the 70s. I hope that you have a happy Tuesday!
Thanks so much sweet friend, I hope the cool front makes it more like fall!
Clever you to bring the bike onto the scene. It seems you never run out of ideas!
Thank you Linda, I have collected for over 40 years. I have a lot of stuff, I think it is time to purge!
Happy Tuesday PM. Your table looks so festive with fall touches. What a sweetheart your hubby is to bring home some pumpkins and mums. Love the vintage bicycle. I hope you try commenting again to see if my tweaking works.
Thanks so much Linda. I will definitely try to comment again!
Pam, what a beautiful table you’ve prepared. Every detail is very cute, the bowls for soup, the pumpkins of different colors, all very cozy. Take advantage of the good weather because here today we had 13 degrees C in the morning (about 55 F) and it was quite cool. For me it’s perfect !! I do not like the heat.
On Sunday I could not comment, I had my two grandchildren invited Saturday and Sunday and I had a great time. They are 8 and 6 years old and they are little men.
But I do not want it to happen to me to say that Ella Mae is a real lady and she is beautiful.
Sweethearts
Dolores
Querida Dolores, sé que disfrutó de sus dos nietos y me alegro de que haya podido pasar tiempo con ellos! ¡Ellos crecen tan rápido! Gracias por su amistad hermosa … abrazos ~
Those soup crocks are pretty! Love the candle with the corn too, just as I did the coffee beans. I love these evenings. In spite of the 90° in the daytime, the mornings and evenings are still really comfortable.
Beautiful tablescape in a wonderful garden!Beautiful colors!
Thank you Maristella!
This is just beautiful! I believe you could make a coffee table book with all of your pretty images. Seriously!
Stacey, how kind you are…thank you!
Perfectly pumpkin pretty Pam! I love that bicycle of yours, and your garden once again looks stunning in the soft light…I am so excited it’s almost soup season!

Pam, I’m always drawn to your al fresco settings. Your garden is so open and the ornamental grasses are spectacular. They make the perfect backdrop for your table. I love that the design and colors of the table linens blend so well with your garden.
Thanks so much Sandra! Blessings~
Everything looks beautiful Pam. I can not wait for fall temps to arrive here in Texas.
Cooler temps this weekend…thank you Pamela!
Such a beautiful setting for a Fall evening dinner. The tablescape and bike basket full of pumpkins are gorgeous — and then your back yard is even more stunning! Looking forward to exploring your blog a bit more.
Catherine
Thank you so much Catherine for your visit and comments!
Happy Fall Pam! Love that bike; I have one just like it! You gave me some good ideas on what to put in the basket. It’s really cold and wet here in Colorado and definitely feels like Fall. Hugs, Pat
Pat, that is funny that you have the same bike! It was given to me, very rarely take it out of the garage, but it is fun to park in the garden!
I love that you enjoy your treasures you collected on travel excursions. That makes every table richer! Lovely pumpkins! They remind me of us – some have more warts, some somewhat smooth, some rough, some discolored, others perfectly smooth…. The collection of pumpkins is interesting and perfect, just as God created (us and pumpkins), Beautiful fall hydrangea blooms. 🙂
Kim, what a great analogy! I do enjoy using all the stuff I have collected on our travels! Have a wonderful Sunday!
Just beautiful! Hope we get a few more evenings to eat outside!
Hopefully you will!
I just can’t get enough of this lovely post! It’s fabulous!
Thank you Amber, you are so sweet!
So pretty! You have a decorator’s eye. I can tell you if I like something made up, but I’m not so good at making it up!
Blessings,
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage

Oh how I love the muted tones of pumpkins now days. Your bicycle all loaded up is so fun! We have definitely been having fall temps here. It’s a bit chilly in the morning and evenings. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
