“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Hello my sweet friends! Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. Do any of you somehow feel it has become the holiday that is sandwiched between Halloween and Christmas and that it is not getting its proper due?
Thanksgiving should not be just a single day, but a season of thanks. Better still, what if we lived every day with a heart full of thanks for the blessings that we have been given! I often challenge myself and others to make a thankful list. It will lift our spirit as we begin to take inventory of our blessings that we often take for granted. As our family gathers at our home on Thanksgiving Day, we will be giving thanks to the Giver of all good gifts.
The charcuterie board is the base for a gathered centerpiece of a few elements that speak of the season.
Rosemary clipped from the garden provides a lovely fragrance and also nestles a Fitz and Floyd pheasant.
A scattering of pods and ghost pumpkins were added along with fresh flowers to complete the centerpiece!
Spode “Woodland” china is always my choice for our Thanksgiving table!
A trip to Birmingham last week provided the opportunity to shop Trader Joe’s for fresh flowers . I was able to make several small arrangements for $6.00…now that is a bargain. Silver mint julep cups are perfect for flowers!
Feather placemats purchased many years ago are my go-to for Thanksgiving!
The green chargers had been put away and forgotten about until a few days ago when I was organizing and there they were. They worked perfectly with the green in each plate.
You may have noticed I mixed metals…silver julep cups and candle stands…gold flatware…and bronze dragonfly napkin rings. The late Charles Faudree always said, “It is in the mix, not the match.” Mixing it up is always more interesting.
The charcuterie board was found on a wonderful anniversary trip to Blackberry Farm a few years ago. It is made from reclaimed old European wood.
The amber stemware was purchased the first year I hosted Thanksgiving.
“A word fitly spoken
is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Proverbs 25:11
Your visits and comments always make my day! Now if I may ask, have you started your Christmas decorating or do you wait until after Thanksgiving?

Pam, your tablescape talks about love and family. Love feather placemats, and the big pheasant (a pitcher?) is gorgeous!
The pheasant is a pitcher! Thank you Donna!
Pam, I noticed (and coveted) the Charcuterie Board right off, before you even mentioned it. Love your decorating style, but even more, your comments. Thank you!
Donna, thank you for your sweet comments. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Beautiful Pam! I like the centerpiece on the charcuterie board- easy to lift away too! I like that Charles Faudrea quote- great advice! Looks like you are all set for Thanksgiving- enjoy!
Thank you Liz, there is much preparation going on!
It is the mix in life that makes things interesting also. Lovely table with lots of memories Pam. Yes I have started decorating in some parts of the house because I will be away for 10 days over Thanksgiving. I love the decorating and enjoying the results well over a month. My decorations always used red and green. Red for Christ blood he shed for us and green because there is no grave to visit with old bones in it as he rose up and is alive sitting at the right hand of our father God. Looking forward to your decorations for Christmas this year. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Butch.
Thank you Alice! I know you are excited to spend Thanksgiving in NC with family! Safe travels my friend~
Really like your tablescape Pam. Especially the pheasant. I have a Fitz and Floyd pheasant too. Not a pitcher though.
Thank you Carol! Happy Thanksgiving!
Very beautiful Thanksgiving table, Pam. I love it when organization leads to a surprise like you found in the chargers. I have not started my Christmas decorating, but I have begun putting fall things away in an organized way. I don’t like piling things up when I switch decor, so I do my decorating in stages – first UNdecorating, then decorating. I’ve been thinking through some ideas, though. I generally keep it traditional form year to year, and only change up one or two vignettes.
I love a traditional Christmas that involves memories! Thank you Rita!
Stunning table! Your choice of verses always makes my heart happy. Charles Faudree will always be my favorite designer…timeless and elegant. There will be no hint of Christmas at our house until Thanksgiving weekend is over. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older, but I love to savor each moment and not rush it.
I agree savoring each moment is better! Thanks so much!
Pam, Your table is so beautiful and this tablescape makes the lovely wood and its design pop. Charles Faudree would approve of your table. You mix and match expertly. I do like the effect of the green chargers and your ability to artistically reuse those lovely placemats in a different way for an equally elegant look.
I love your amber goblets, too. I would like some fall goblets as well as chargers. It occurred to me back in August that I had given away my mother’s amber glasses when I redid my kitchen and I needed them for the Fall bloghop.
I don’t decorate for Christmas until Thanksgiving is over. I like each holiday to be enjoyed and savored.
Thank you Bonnie. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!
The charcuterie board makes the perfect foundation for your beautiful Thanksgiving centerpiece! I love Fitz and Floyd, and I adore that pheasant. Your mixing of metals was spot on for adding wonderful interest to your table. The green charger plates look lovely with your pretty Spode China. Since I don’t host Thanksgiving (both my parents and in laws host), I have started my Christmas decorating this week. I love the Christmas season, and it gives me a little longer to enjoy it. Happy Tuesday, sweet friend!
Thanks so much sweet friend! I have started only because of the blog hop!
Hi, Pam! I’m one of those people who LOVES Thanksgiving and wants to give it its due. There’s nothing like the look, feel, and love that Thanksgiving brings!!! You’ve created a beautiful table to represent the season!
Thank you for your sweet words, Alycia!
I love all the elements you have brought together for such a beautiful table. Charles Faudree would definitely approve. The feather placemats with the pheasant plates are spot on. You have created a table of beauty for your family. Thank you for your sacred words that speaks to our souls. My grandson, Davis, is opposed to putting Christmas out before Thanksgiving. Even though I want to, his little sweet heart is bigger than my want to. Happy Thanksgiving dear friend. God’s richest blessings to all!
Thank you sweet friend! Thanksgiving blessings to you and yours! Davis is right!
Our Christmas decorating always happens the weekend after Thanksgiving. I am like you in that I really enjoy and appreciate the season of Thanksgiving and all that it means, so I try to savor every moment of it.
Thank you Robyn, wishing you a wonderful season of thanksgiving!
I agree with you…”Live everyday with a heart full of thanks for the blessings that we have been given”…Your plates are just fabulous!Amazing tablescape!
Thank you Maristella! Hugs and blessings!
Your dining room is Thanksgiving perfect Pam! I am crazy about your centerpiece set on a large wood plank, with your F&F piece as the star surrounded by fall accessories and rosemary. I agree with CF, it’s all about the mix not the match! Gorgeous china~ now all you have to do is start cooking! I NEVER do the first thing Christmas until after turkey day and the Iron Bowl! Our son in law is an AU tiger, and it is going to be quite a weekend for sure! Hopefully I will start holiday decorating on Sunday after Thanksgiving with a smile on my face 🙂
Jenna
Jenna, I am a little concerned about the Iron Bowl. I hope Bama used last Saturday as a learning experience and I hope Auburn gets cocky and falls apart. Roll Tide!
yes, no kidding, I am nervous too!!
Dear friend you are so talented with your table spreads and this Tksgiving setting is no exception. Your F&f pheasant caught my eye immediately, I love it. The entire centerpiece is gorgeous. Beautiful china and the mix and match is always the best challenge when creating a setting.
Yes, it’s also all about giving thanks to the year we have had full of blessings. Thank you for your sweet and kind comment dear.
Happy Tksgiving to you and yours.
Fabby
Thank you so much for your sweet comments, Fabby! Wishing you Thanksgiving blessings!
Your table set to,g is amazing and I love how you have mixed so many beautiful elements! We love Thanksgiving, it is our very favorite holiday. You have a beautiful dining room! So cozy and inviting!!!
Thank you so very much! Thanksgiving Blessings to you and yours!
Your table setting speaks so beautifully to the abundance and loveliness of Thanksgiving. SO warm and welcoming.
Thank you so much Jeanie!
Pam: Gorgeous, gorgeous ! I don’t know what to mention first, everything is so beautiful. My favorite is the Spode Woodland and sitting on those green chargers with the feather mats – Charles Faudree would be speechless. Also, the amber stemware is so pretty with the Spode. Such a warm and inviting table.
As for our Christmas decorating – the tree is up and almost finished. We don’t light the tree until late Thanksgiving evening – it is our way of ushering in the Christmas season. Nothing outside is done until after Thanksgiving, trying to be a bit simpler this year and just enjoy the magic.
Thank you Pam, for such glorious inspiration and a beautiful post ! Blessings to you and yours.
Sandra, you are so sweet with your comments and a very gracious lady! You have a good start on decorating, at least! Blessings to you and yours!
Such a beautiful tablescape! I just love your eye creations – how you are able to use a green charger, and mix all the other metals on your table! It gives me hope to experiment. And I love the dragonfly napkin rings! Dragonflies are peace and good luck in Chinese culture. I love drsgonflies!
Thank you my sweet friend!
As always a breathtaking table setting. I hope to get my Thanksgiving table done over the weekend and will post. I should get it done by Friday now that I think about it. I use my Spode Woodlands Turkey pattern with some amber stemware but my centerpiece is somewhat different and of course I have a red dining room too.
Carolyn
Hello Pam, your table is quite lovely. I adore the pheasant pitcher. The charcuterie board makes a great presentation. Of course iI love your spode dishware. I have those dragonfly napkins too. Blessings to you.
This table shows LOVE of family and friends to me!! Timeless and beautiful!!
Thanks so much Beth…wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Love you table!! So elegant.
I adore your china! The green chargers are perfect. I noticed their color right away. I’m thinking I should make pheasant feather place mats at some point. HH hunts and brings home tons of feathers. Why do I have them in a box upstairs? Gorgeous table, Pam. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Kim, I would love to see how you would make feather placemats! They are a little pricey to buy! Please take care of yourself!
Oh how I love seeing a beautiful table set by you in that gorgeous dining room…love the centerpiece using the Chacuterie board…and yes, Charles was so right and you mixed the metals so beautifully…I often find myself searching for mint julep cups while traveling…my fav go to vase! Have a beautiful week Pam!
Thanks so much Shirley!
Yes Pam, I count my blessings each and every day! I love the Woodland dishes and the pheasant! Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Happy Thanksgiving Jann!
What a beautiful table, Pam! I love all the colors and textures. I know what you mean about Thanksgiving not getting its just due. I commented on that on my blog as well. While looking for additional Thanksgiving accent pieces, I was hard put to find anything! Bravo on creating such a lovely space. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Rosie @ The Magic Hutch
Thank you for your sweet visit Rosie and wishing you Thanksgiving blessings!
Happy Thanksgiving Season Pam! Everything is beautiful… I love your beautiful reclaimed wood board a foundation for your centerpiece with your pitcher, flowers and pumpkins. Blackberry Farm has been on my radar and bucket list for several years now! I love happy surprises when you discover something you forgot you tucked away. Most of the time for me the surprise is the other way around and the napkins that I’m looking for are not where they’re supposed to be. 🙂
Mary, BlackBerry Farm is so special…I highly recommend!
Your table is stunning as always and I particularly like the feather placemats. There is a place In Thomasville, GA and I have been eyeing them. Those placemats may need to be an early Christmas present to me. I will be using the Woodlands pattern also but the Turkey pattern. We have the Woodlands bird pattern at our farm in GA. I will be doing my Thanksgiving table very soon. Beautiful table.
Carolyn
Carolyn, thank you for your sweet comments! I bought the feather placemats through Kevin’s Catalog and I believe they are based in Georgia! I will be looking forward to seeing your table!
Such a stunner! The dishes and centerpiece are just begging for all of us to come sit down. The Fitz and Floyd is my favorite though, what a beautiful piece.
Thank you so much Christine.
It never occurred to me to use a Charcuterie board as the base for a centerpiece, thank you for the inspiration. This is a beautiful and lavish table and perfect for dining and giving thanks. I hope your Thanksgiving has been perfect. Thank you for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story and we hope you will join us again next week.
Thanks so much Sandra!
