“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing…
…know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture…
…Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
Psalms 100:1-4
Autumn temps above average brought a visitor to our Sasanqua camellia!
Butch was on business in south Alabama when he discovered the Clarke County Museum. The Alston-Cobb house was built in the 1850’s.
Hudson’s Thanksgiving School program…isn’t he adorable!!
Our ginkgo is still hanging on to its leaves!
Occasionally a hamburger and fries just hits the spot!
Warm days recently brought us swarms of ladybugs, but this one chose to be a loner.
Sweetgum trees provide a lot of fall color in our part of the world. Maybe they don’t get the credit they deserve!
I absolutely love autumn…just a little sad when the color is gone and the trees are bare!
“For the Lord is good his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.”
Psalms 100:5

Happy Sunday, Pam. We had a fierce storm roll in last night after strangely high temps of over 70° in the daytime….I saw a few of those Asian ladybugs earlier, but am hoping the storm winds blew them into the next state. I still have leaves on my Japanese maple but all the rest of mine have been stripped.
Hudson is adorable. I love the innocence and eagerness of children when they participate in activities that will be so memorable later on (for them and US!). I hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
XO,
RIta

I too am a little sad to see all the color disappear. You have captured some beautiful images. Hudson is so cute. It is a very windy morning here and most of the leaves are down. Looking forward to a week of family gatherings. I hope you and your family have a blessed and joyful Thanksgiving.

Hi Dianne, we had a storm that blew through last night with lots of wind! Wishing you a joy-filled week of Thanksgiving!

Oh Pam, what a glorious post. You know, I always have to pick a favorite photo/photos. Today, it has to be the magnificent ginkgo. I raised one in VA from a little seedling and when we left, it was to the 2nd story of the house and so beautiful. I also love the photo of you with all the beauty around you, just so lovely.
The photo of Hudson will bring smiles to everyone as the years go along.
Have a beautiful day. Also, wishing you and your family a joyful Thanksgiving with many blessings.

Seeing the sweet gum photo brought back a sweet memory of one I planted in the front yard of our first house. I’m going to go by there today and see if it’s still there.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Linda, I hope you had a chance to drive by your first home and check out your sweet gum!

Friend Pam, today you bring us autumn in all its splendor, I love those golden colors.
Your photo is beautiful, it is a very good photo, you are magnificent!
Giving thanks is very beautiful and more to dedicate a day especially to it, you know that in Spain there is not a day specially dedicated to it, so everyone gives thanks in private, I personally do it almost every day because there is always something for which to give thanks.
A hug, Dolores

Dolores, gracias querido amigo.

We have a sweet gum tree in our front yard and you’re right…they can really ramp up the foliage beauty! What gorgeous photos! I still just never think of the South as having changing colors and falling leaves since you guys don’t have the harsh winters we have in the Midwest. I’m not the brightest bulb in the fixture! ?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
You are so funny, Alycia! Generally fall is beautiful in NE Alabama!

Lovely post as always! Love your ginkgo and sweet gum trees. Your look happy enjoying the fall colors in the picture of you.
Your Sasanqua is so pretty. I have light pink and white ones that are a different variety. They are more than an average number of blooms on the bushes this year. All the camellias are blooming early this year.
My kids came yesterday and I have been in full getting ready mode all week. It is so nice to have them in your home. I was going to read a little Golden book to them at bedtime from my my kids childhood and my little first grade grandson could read it to me. We were amazed and happy about that. We saw them in July and it is amazing how fast they grow and mature.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. It is such a wonderful time with family.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Bonnie, thank you! I know you will have a busy but memorable week. Enjoy your sweet family and Happy Thanksgiving dear friend!

Wonderful post with fantastic photos as always! We don’t have Ginko trees here, but did in Ca. Our colors are brown now, with a little green lingering in the grass. Love your grandson.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Butch.
