“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14
Warm greetings sweet friends. Can you believe Christmas is only a couple of weeks away?! Have you finished your shopping? Let’s just say I still have much to be done. Even with all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, we stop to celebrate two very important birthdays around our house. We gathered Sunday evening at the table to indulge in Seth’s yearly birthday (December 11) request of manicotti and red velvet cake. If you’ve followed Everyday Living for a while then you know that Seth is our “close to Christmas” miracle gift that God chose to bless us with in 1985. You may never have the opportunity to know Seth personally, but it is our prayer that each of you will focus on the person whose birthday created Christmas. He is Jesus, and every human has been given the opportunity to know Him. Getting to know Jesus personally makes all who choose Him an eternal winner!
Speaking of winners, we hope you enjoy this post as you make your way to the end and see who our give-away winner is!
I have tried hard not to make any new purchases for tablescaping and I have managed to do reasonably well. But something new did appear on the table…the silver twig flatware from Pier 1. I have been eyeing it for a couple of years and I finally bought it on sale!
The table is dressed for “the most wonderful time of the year!” Fresh pine was added to faux tulips for an easy centerpiece.
Seth made me the antler candle stands a few years ago…they are a favorite Christmas present.
I somehow misplaced my tartan tablecloth, but I refused to be outdone…wrapping paper made a nice substitute and required no washing afterwards!
Christmas ornaments serve as napkin rings.
Early morning sunlight and shadows play on the dining room wall and table!
I found blue/white Christmas tree dishware at Tuesday Morning several years ago…I love it!
Butch cut fresh cedar and pine to use for the center of the table…I added pine cones and sweet little birds.
The chandelier was given fresh Leyland cypress.
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Proverbs 25:11
This stemware always works with blue and white!
As always, thank you for following our everyday living and a special thanks to all who entered the give-away. And now the winner is……Jeanie!!! She will be receiving a one year subscription to Southern Lady magazine. Congrats to Jeanie! I will be in touch via email!

I believe this is the most beautiful table I have seen anywhere this entire season. I love the blue and white with the plaid. The ability to improvise with wrapping paper and ornaments like you have done takes a VERY talented person. I would never have guessed. These napkin rings are amazing…going to start looking in the ornament area! Most importantly Happy Birthday Seth. Seth, the candlesticks are amazing also…a very talented family. Stunning table! Just stunning!

Thank you Dianne! We have a sweet time around the table.

Your plaids, your wall color combine with everything on your table for a warm and cozy setting. I’m with Seth when it comes to manicotti so I can imagine myself being right there fork in hand.

This is just gorgeous in my favorite color combination, blue and red! Those pretty blue plates look wonderful against the red plaid backdrop. The centerpiece of fresh greens and red flowers makes a stunning finishing touch. I’m glad you were able to get the flatware you had been wanting. I tend to make the same promise about not buying anymore Tablescaping items. Last week, I broke my promise and purchased some cute Santa plates-lol! Happy Tuesday, sweet friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Shannon, enjoy the Santa plates!

Dear Pam, just tell you that the decoration of the Christmas table is impressive. I would highlight everything, but I want to say that the dishes are very beautiful, I love them … You have made a show of your creativity and good taste. I congratulate you.
I will spend Christmas in Granada also my eldest daughter with her family, so we will be happy to be all together. I will be there until after the end of the year but the feast of the Magi will be together again here in Madrid. The festivity of the Kings is very important in Spain.

Hi Pam, such a beautiful Christmas table! The blue and white Christmas plates go perfectly with the plaid runner. I bought HomeGoods wrapping paper this year that tape wouldn’t stick to, so now I know it would work great as a runner instead. Thanks so much for linkin up with the Home For Christmas Party!

Happy Birthday to Seth, Looks like a great family gathering. Your table is striking, Pam.Good idea to use the plaid wrapping paper since you couldn’t find your tablecloth. I would never have known it was paper from the picture. I really like the blue and white Christmas china with the plaid and the fresh greenery can’t be beat! His antler candleholders go very well for this occasion.
Sorry I have been out of the blogging loop. I have been entertaining with 21 ladies in my home for a Christmas party , co- hostessing Garden Club at another location and a dinner party in my home. Since before Thanksgiving it has been very busy. I am so behind. Sorry, I missed your Sunday post. I loved all your snow pics. They were beautiful and I know it was fun.
Congrats to Jeannie. I love my Southern Lady subscription.

What a gorgeous table setting! I LOVE the use of red tulips, and how smart to use faux ones! The blue and white just looks gorgeous with the deep red. The antler candle holders add that rustic texture the juxtaposes it all so well. (I made a bunch of candle holders from antlers a few years ago too… a little different, but basically same idea.) Merry Christmas! 🙂 Liz

All the glorious plaid! You sure are a fantastic tablescaper! I love your posts. I have a farm table so I don’t like to cover the old wood with too much of an elaborate tablescape, but seeing all of your posts makes me think it might be fun to play around and style it up a bit more just for blogging! I am “mad for plaid decor” of course, so this post is definitely going to pinned. I shared my final Christmas home tour yesterday which has a lot of plaid in it too.
Happy New Year!
