“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”
1 Corinthians 13:7-8a
Happy Monday sweet friends…and welcome to Everyday Living! I am so glad you stopped by. I am excited to be participating in a Romantic Tablescape Blog Hop this week hosted by the talented Chloe from Celebrate & Decorate! You will find the full line up at the bottom of my post, and you will not want to miss any of them!
Valentine’s Day can take on many forms…of course it is the holiday set aside for love…but that can look different in all of our relationships. One fun way to share love with your family and friends is to send a simple handwritten note or card in the mail. It can truly make someone’s day, especially those who might be alone! My sweetheart and I always stay in to avoid the crowds and long lines for a seat in a restaurant! It is the same tradition that we have continued for many years! The table in our dining room is set for just the two of us…complete with our very favorite desserts…lots of sweet treats! After all…how sweet it is to be celebrating forty-five years with the love of my life!
Candlelight always brings a little something extra to the table. I often light candles for everyday dinners, not just special occasions, as well as beautiful music playing in the background!
Raspberry and vanilla macarons!
The heart napkin rings are so old, but they always make an appearance on February 14th!
The heart-shaped “Love” plates are from TJ Maxx!
Sparkling grape juice and ginger ale!
*
*
Butch’s favorite…red velvet!
Tulips are one of my favorite flowers!
Another sweet for my sweetheart…shortbread cookies!
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
A matelasse coverlet serves as the table cloth. I cannot find my white linen cloth anywhere. How do you misplace something that large? While searching for the cloth, I did find my peacock place card holders that have been missing for two years!
Thank you for your sweet visits and comments…they really do make my day! How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
I can enjoy this view for a few days!

Beautiful romantic table- love the tulips and the heart shaped dishes. The desserts are calling my name!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Liz, so thrilled you are joining in the blog hop!

Gorgeous tulips, candlelight and sweet treats are so pretty and romantic. Love all your textures and patterns. The geometric placemats and polka dot napkins accent your heart plates beautifully. The softness of the sheer organza napkin overlay is so sweet as is the heart napkin ring. I don’t remember it but it is very nice for a Valentine table. Your menu sounds delicious.
I also had forgotten that Butch loved red velvet cake! Hooray for cup cakes!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Bonnie. I am looking forward to your Tablescape dear friend!
Carole @ From My Carolina Home says

I love music and lighting also, Pam, and I can sense your mood created with this romantic tablescape. TJ’s is a great source for fun plates like the ones you scored. I know one thing…..serving a table full of sweets is enough to make my mister fall in love, over and over again. 🙂 The meal looks terrific, too.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Rita. A table full of sweets is always perfect at our house!

Such a beautiful and romantic Valentine’s table in your gorgeous red dining room! Your pretty heart plates, tulips, and candles are just the perfect setting for a delicious meal. Those sweet treats looks scrumptious! We stay in too on Valentine’s Day and celebrate with the kids. We make and decorate heart cookies, and I create a fun and festive table for a special dinner. It so much more enjoyable than going to a crowded restaurant. Happy Monday, sweet friend!!!

Thank you Shannon! I love that you celebrate with the children. Baking and decorating cookies is the best❤️

Oh my goodness! Those are darling napkin rings. Love them. I just love your table dear friend. So pretty and romantic. Yes, I am with you on staying in to keep from fighting the long crowds. Plus the fact that everything seems to be 3-4 times higher in price. It is crazy. Last year I done a table for two and it was so US! My man some of his favorite foods, comfort of home and and a sweet time of simply talking and catching up. When you have a large family as we do it’s hard sometimes to have that quality time. Thanks for sharing. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Cindy, you described the perfect Valentine’s Day! Thank you for your encouraging visits!
Alycia Nichols says
45 years?!?!??!? Well, hallelujah! Amazing and wonderful! Congratulations!!! So lovely to see your tulips as I stare out the window at icky old snow. Such a pretty table!! I particularly like that matelasse runner. It lends implied warmth, something many of us are still yearning for as winter trudges on through the month of February!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you so much, Alycia. February can be a mixed bag of weather here. We have a problem sometimes with spring springing too early and then all the buds are killed by a late frost!
Maristella says
How fabulous,Pam!What an adorable table…Looooove the gorgeous tulips…Congratulations on your wedding anniversary.Best wishes!

Such a lovely and inviting Valentine tablescape for two! How terrific that you get to share it with your sweetheart of 45 years – that is something to celebrate and you’ve created the perfect place to do so! The “Love” plates are fantastic and the heart-shaped candy on the table accent them wonderfully. Your menu sounds delish and how nice it is to have the whole dining room table to spread out and enjoy it – always like seeing a tablescape done like that.

Pam, your setting is lovely. And I’m curious, did you make those macarons yourself?! Using the coverlet on the table is a great idea. It really does look lovely. Good job!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I wish I could say I made the macarons, but I didn’t! I actually took a cooking class to learn how to make them at Sur La Table. But, I have never tried them at home.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day is always best at home .
Dinner may be quite simple , but the presentation is
what makes the evening special !
I have used matelasse coverlets for a tablecloth as you have done . Always so pretty and provides a lush backdrop for beautiful tablescapes.
Where did you purchase the white runner ? I admit ,
I do have a weakness for such linens !
Dear Pam,although I may not always respond , please know that I thoroughly enjoy each and every post from you. Always a pleasure !
I do hope you find your white tablecloth …you will.
I had to chuckle … sounds like me .
My solution would be to have an entire room for linens and things ! Storage is a dilemma at my home. What a lovely problem , huh ?!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Christine, thank you so much for following our little blog. The quilted runner came from Sete, France many years ago. I have always enjoyed using it especially during the winter months! I am running out of storage, also!

A beautiful table setting, Pam–love all the little details that work so perfectly with your red dining room. Hubby and I generally share Valentine’s dinner at home, but there are a few wonderful restaurants that we love, that are quiet, so we enjoy that as well. Our granddaughter, Evelyn, was born on Valentine’s Day so, of course, it is an extra special day for us. 45 years of memories gives you both much to reminisce about–CONGRATULATIONS!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Bobbi, how very special that Evelyn was born on February 14th. I hope you received my email.
