“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Philippians 4:8
Hello my friends! Are you experiencing a February heat wave in your neck of the woods? We are setting record high temps in Alabama that will cause trees and plants to bud too soon, especially if we then have a freeze. At least the rain has tapered off for now.
Ok, enough about the weather. You may have noticed that I sometimes use a box as a centerpiece for a tablescape. There are so many possibilities with flowers, greenery, decorative objects, etc. to fill a box. My method is so simple that I wanted to share and give you a few ideas about thinking inside the box!
For a spring tablescape under the pergola, I styled the box with cuttings from the garden!
Hydrangeas, vitex blooms, and sprigs of gold mound spirea were placed in small vases inside the box.
*
For an Autumn Tablescape Blog Hop, I decided to use the box for a table set in the garden.
The box is filled with sunflowers, limelight hydrangeas, nandina, zinnias, angelonias, and purple fountain grass all cut from the garden!
Three taper candles were tucked inside the box!
A Christmas Tablescape with dishes that share the birth of Jesus according to scripture…with the box used to symbolize the gifts from the Magi to the newborn king!
I filled the box with ornaments and swagged gold beads on the outside.
*
For a January tablescape, the box was used in a totally different way!
The early morning winter sunlight casts a glow on pheasant feathers, pillar candles, pine cones, and seeded eucalyptus!
Sometimes I have a plan for centerpieces, but most times I fly by the seat of my skinny jeans! A box is so versatile!
The box came with eleven bottles which I have used a few times. It makes for an easy centerpiece by using one stem per bottle like I did with the yellow roses. A box offers endless possibilities…be creative, there are no rules!
Thank you for reading and commenting. Shh..don’t tell anyone but there might be a new series coming to the blog…let’s just say it is in the planning stages!

Thanks so much, I do love sunflowers!
I like your box! A lovely way to celebrate the nice weather.

Thank you Amalia!
Pam, I love this post! All the different ways to use a box to showcase your theme; beautiful.
Thank you dearest Patti!
I love these beautiful ideas, Pam. You remind me I have a wonderful vintage sewing machine drawer that’s boxy and because it is narrow it would work well on my table. Perhaps I see an Easter centerpiece coming on? First I need to move the paints that are in there somewhere else. As always, it’s beautiful — every photo!
Jeanie, the vintage sewing machine drawer would be perfect!
Great ideas, how inspiring!I love all of them! Thanks for sharing each detail.Hugs!
Thank you Maristella Hugs
Great post, Pam. And, you definitely think “inside the box.” Love them all, but I am especially fond of the one with the Christmas balls. It is so festive and pretty.
Happy day to you and yours!
Thank you Sandra! Have a wonderful weekend!
I love all the different possibilities you showed. I have many of the same plants in my garden but never think of incorporating them in an arrangement. I created a beautiful bouquet of pale pink camellias yesterday, only to wake up this morning and find my kitty had been quite busy with it during the night. Arghhhh.
The pale pink camellias sound beautiful until kitty discovered them!
I need a box!! They are all wonderful Pam!
Thank you Jenna!
There is something that is indisputable … Your immense creativity!
My dear Pam, you can not take more advantage of a wooden box … What beauty is in each of the ways you show us. I could not say which one I like the most because each one is in different situations, such as the Christmas decoration, or the spring one … every year … etc
Good job, friend
Dolores
Querida Dolores, gracias querido amigo! Nuestro clima se ha vuelto extremadamente cálido y será malo para nuestros árboles y plantas porque tendremos una congelación nuevamente. ¡Te deseo un feliz fin de semana! Abrazos
I just love all of your “thinking inside the box” centerpieces! I have a couple of favs that I use and it is always so much fun creating things in them….you are so creative Pam!!!…always enjoy your gorgeous tables!!!!
Thank you Shirley!
Pam, you have inspired me this morning with all of your pretty box arrangements! I’m so ready for spring. We have had ice for the past two days. The crazy thing is before that our temps were in the 70s. I can’t wait to see what your new series is. Take care and enjoy your day!!!
Shannon, the weather is crazy ! We have 80 degrees the past two days. But it will certainly turn cold again. Happy weekend sweet friend!
I love boxes! And you have such a smooth touch when decorating them. I love them all.

Thank you Nikki! ?
Excellent roundup of your centerpieces using a box! Very creative. I don’t have a box and have always wanted one as well as a dough bowl! I really enjoyed this post and want to scroll back through.
Glad your rain has stopped. Pouring in Dallas!
Thank you Bonnie!
No, it’s been cold here. -2F this morning at 6am, now 6F above. My internet is very slow so I can’t even see you photos. I’m enjoying a nice fire. I don’t really mind. But I know I’ll get tired of it but I don’t expect warm weather until spring. Enjoy your warm weather.
Thank you Carol!
SWEET!!!!! The one with the individual vases with roses is particularly creative! This is how you get plenty of mileage out of a single purchase. When you can justify the purchase with numerous uses…Golden!!!!
I definitely have gotten mileage from the box! Thanks Alycia!
Oh I love your idea. I have a small antique wooden tool box that holds my Wine Spectator magazines but now I think it will do double duty. 😀
The wooden toolbox would be perfect!
You’ve made so many beautiful seasonal arrangements in this one box. Your post is very timely for me because I was just out shopping around for something similar for my Easter table. I still haven’t found one that is quite right. I was wondering how long your box is?
Lisa, I will measure and let you know. I am at Half Mile Farm and we love it!
Good morning, Pam. Great inspiration!! I have a long copper wine ice bucket that I usually put plants in. Never thought about filling it with flowers in vases! I need to plan a party! Enjoy your weekend!!
Happy weekend, Katie!
Pam, I enjoyed seeing your beautiful creations in a singular container. Very timely post as our thoughts are turning to flowers and our gardens. I saw daffodils in full bloom yesterday. It was 82 here. Have a great weekend.
Thank you Dianne!
I have a similar box that I made last Spring for a table centerpiece. Now I have a lot more ideas for filling it! Thank you!
Thank you Cheryl!
Wonderful post, and love the title. 😉 Also, enjoyed the Scripture you shared… The Lord is good, all the time! And your post definitely points us to look on lovely things! Here by way of Friday Friends Parade… pinned your post!
Thank you Julie for visiting! I will go back to the party and try to find you!
I have an old wooden box that I like to use for flower arrangements. All of your arrangements are so pretty! Thanks for giving me some fresh ideas.
Thank you for biding Tammie!
I love how you ‘think inside the box’ Pam and I’m ready for some garden cuttings and spring flowers! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the bridal wreath spirea and snowball bush won’t be fooled by this unseasonably warm weather and be frost bitten and zapped by Mother Nature this year.
Mary, I so hope my snowball bushes won’t be frost bitten like last year,
Beautiful ideas!
Thank you Ann!
Each one is so beautiful all by itself, I am feeling inspired to stop purging and take all my boxes that I have in a “to be donated” pile and keep them! OK, truth be told I definitely should keep one or two after seeing this! Beautiful !
Thank you so much Christine. Boxes are fun to use!
Each one of your box displays is so beautiful…all so very unique!
Thank you Carol!
Your box is quite an effective decorating tool. The weather has been oddly strange here, too. We’ve had snow and then 70 degree weather followed by snow and 30’s.
I love your hydrangeas! Such a great idea! I have a succulent centerpiece outside but hesitate to do one indoors because of our curious cats. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for visiting Ann!
I love your hydrangeas! Pam, your arrangements are Beautiful! I have a similar box that I LOVE too! Thank you so much for sharing with us at the TFT party. Pop on over tomorrow I will be Featuring your beautiful decor!
Thanks, Theresa
Oh thank you Theresa. A feature is exciting always!
Beautiful inspiration! Looking forward to your possible new series! Thanks for sharing at TFT!
