“Do not boast about tomorrow,
for you do not know what a day may bring.”
Proverbs 27:1
Hello sweet friends! I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. Ours was so special…we spent a lot of time with Ella Mae! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, it was perfect for playing outside. But today’s tablescape is inside, so pull up a chair and join me at a blooming table!
You might ask, how is this a blooming table with just a few stems of snowball blooms. Upon a closer look you will see that the china is blooming, as well as placemats and napkin rings!
I found this cute five bottle container at Oakleaf in Highlands, NC.
Vintage white napkins gathered with pink ones for color!
The stemware came from Tuesday Morning several years ago.
“A word fitly spoken
is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Proverbs 25:11
Hand painted mini terra-cotta napkin rings were found many years ago at a spring crafts event at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens.
My snowball bushes survived the frost and are loaded with blooms. The hubby just informed me that frost is predicted for Thursday morning…ugh!
I have long admired the British classic dishware, Botanic Garden by Portmeirion. The celebrated designer Susan Williams-Ellis used early 19th century illustrations as her inspiration. With its mixture of floral motifs and signature leaf border, it is perfect for a (want-to-be) gardener. A couple of weeks ago, I was making a run through TJ Maxx and there in plain view were 6 different dinner plates…I pondered briefly but could no longer resist! They literally jumped into my cart. The pattern was introduced in 1972 and they set a new trend for casual dining!
Thank you so much for your visits and taking time to comment. Wishing you a joy-filled week!

What do you mean “want to be” gardener, Ive seen photos of your garden!
That dish pattern is popular in Aus too.
Aw, you are so kind!
Beautiful as usual Pam! Terracotta painted napkin rings are amazing, love them!
Thank you Donna!
Love those handpainted napkin rings! I didn’t know the history behind the Portmeirion, thank you for sharing that. Very pretty mix. Your snowballs are huge! It’s a good thing I’m still busying myself with my purge and other vintage activities because this “spring” weather is underwhelming! Glad your Easter was special, Pam. I bet Ella Mae was excited with the day.
We may get frost on Thursday, yes the spring has been unusual!
Gorgeous dishes! The snowballs are stunning.Love the napkin rings,so colorful and unique.Have a blessed day, dear Pam!
Thank you dear Maristella!
Beautiful! Those napkins rings are so sweet!
Thank you, Penny!
Yes, you definitely had to have those plates…quite the find! Your centerpiece is perfect straight from your own garden. I hope the low temps will not hurt any of your plants. I lost two bleeding hearts. Your tables are always so clean looking and elegant. Brightened my day!
Thank you dearest Dianne!
This has been a great year for snowball viburnums. Your beautiful table is making me head out to the yard to pick some blooms! I bet Ella Mae looked beautiful in her Easter outfit! Hope Butch was feeling better by Sunday.
Easter Sunday in our new church was magnificent. We were all a little nervous about the logistics like parking, getting folks in the correct doors, etc. But it went perfectly, and every seat was taken. We ranged in age from newborn to a 96 y.o. WWII veteran. It was such joy to look around at all the faces who worked so hard to make this day happen. I was very honored to be asked to be the chalice bearer and help administer Communion on this very first Sunday
Thank you so much Roxanne! Butch is doing much better and went back to work yesterday,
I am so glad to hear that everything went so well in your new church facility. Wow, a 96 y.o. WWII veteran and a full house. What a wonderful honor for you on the first Sunday! May God always be glorified in your new place of worship! Blessings~
I love the Portmeirion pattern. That would have been hard to resist.
The snowballs here have been prolific and beautiful.(Wish I had one) A professional nursery owner told me they stayed dormant because of the consistent cold and prolonged period of cold. She said that was why our azaleas bloomed so well and had a more vibrant color, also.
You will enjoy the container for single stems. I have one I have enjoyed so much over the years.
Have a lovely week.
Thank you, Bonnie. Enjoy your week!
Such a beautiful table. Love it all.
Thank you Marty!
Pam, those pretty plates would of jumped into my cart too! Your blooming tablescape is so pretty, and those adorable napkin rings with the vintage lace napkins are beautiful! Your snowball flowers make the perfect centerpiece. I love snowball bushes! We are expecting freezing temps this week, and we are worried because our azaleas and dogwoods have blooms. Enjoy you day, sweet friend!!!
Thank you sweet friend! I hope your azaleas and dogwoods do not get damaged.
As someone who loves flowers, this post fills me with happiness. Flowers always add a touch of “special” to any table. And I am in love with those plates. Perfect for the season.
Are you like me…throwing sheets over everything to keep it alive when frost is predicted? It’s always a frantic rush to get it done just past dark so passersby don’t have to see old sheets all over! Then up early to snatch them off again before morning rush hour. What a pain!? Worth it, though, when your efforts yield such gorgeous blooms as those hydrangea!!! I also love the centerpiece floral vessel itself. How incredibly cool!!! Of course, I’m living the Portmeirion!!! Always so pretty, and perfect for Spring into Summer.
Alycia, I was sure we were finished with frost, but apparently not. We live in the country, so I don’t have to worry about passerby’s. Thank you, still hope you are making great progress!
Pam, you have truly created a beautiful “Blooming Table.” The china is lovely, and I would have had to work very hard for it not to have come home with me, too. I am in love with the hand painted napkin rings, they are so lovely. How special it would be to be a guest at your lovely table and enjoy the beauty.
This post was a treat to see on my cold and rainy morning ! Have a beautiful week !
Thank you Sandra. It is very dark and cloudy, we are supposed to get thunderstorms.
How lovely! Those hydrangeas are just perfect. and I do love Portmeirion — I could easily see setting a lovely table with that, though, I think, not nearly so lovely as yours!
Thank you dear Jeanie!
Beautiful table Pam! I cannot believe that your snowball viburnum is blooming!….Mine just has small leaves and I hope the buds have not been frozen!….It is warm here and there are predictions for possible snow on Saturday…ugh!!…..I so love the dinnerware…I had some in a former home that I hung on the wall in the guest room..they were just too pretty to take out from time to time so I used them as wall art….As a matter of fact, I just came home from a neighborhood luncheon and she served lunch on Portmeirion…just beautiful!! See you Friday for Floral Friday!
How much fun to be invited to a neighborhood luncheon. I love plates as wall art. I have plates hanging in several rooms. I look forward to Floral Frida, Shirley!
Very nice table. I like a lot in centerpiece. Just today I’ve been looking at centerpieces in wood in a store called Sandra Marques here in Majadahonda and it is specialized in tableware and home from Portugal, this country is famous for beautiful decoration of home.
I make special reference to the napkin rings that mimic miniature planters, they are very original and beautiful … I love them!
A hug Dolores
Hola Dolores. Gracias por tu hermosa visita. Sabía que Portugal era famoso por su hermosa mesa y decoración. Me encantan los diferentes patrones de cerámica de platos. ¡Te deseo una semana encantadora y abrazos!
Beautiful Pam. I especially love the napkin rings.

The hydrangea are perfect with all of the other “blooming” on your table. We are all ready for more blooms and less show, aren’t we?
Yes, indeed! Thanks Chloe~
It certainly is a beautiful blooming tablescape Pam. I love Snowball Bush blooms. Mine won’t be blooming for a while. I hope they survive the frost a 2nd time. 🙂 The napkin rings are so fun! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Thank you Jann!
Beautiful, Pam! I’ve seen your gardens, and they are amazing. Love the cute napkin ring idea!

Thank you so much Debra!
One of my dearest friends has been using her extensive collection of Portmeirion since that 1972 date. She still adores them. Your table is charming, and it is perfect in your beautiful red dining room. Isn’t it amazing the beautiful things that we find at Tuesday Morning!? Thanks for hosting each week. Cherry Kay
Thanks so much, Cherry Kay. Have a wonderful weekend!
That’s a cute flower display. I’ve always enjoyed the Portmeirion dish design. I learned their name years ago when I collected a bunch of mini teapots that were made with extra cute details and they were made by Portmeirion. I like those painted terracotta napkin rings- so cute!
Thanks so much Liz, have a wonderful weekend!
Stunning tablescape. Thanks fr saring.
Thanks so much!
