“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
Psalms 28:7
Happy Tuesday dear friends. I hope your week is off to a good start. Can you believe that one week from tomorrow is July 4? Have you made your plans?
I am joining a talented group of bloggers hosted by the lovely Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate to bring you a week of patriotic inspiration for your Independence Day celebration. I set up a table on the patio and would love for you to join me!

You’ll find red, white, and blue Tablescape inspiration at the bottom of this post.
Most of my summer tablescaping is in the garden. But with the heat and humidity, I chose the patio under the pergola. At least, there is a garden view!
Setting a red, white, and blue table only required going through my stash of linens and dishware!
I mixed a cobalt blue charger, red dinner plate, blue willow salad plate, and a festive bowl!
Mixing patterns is one of my favorite things to do when setting a table. A white cotton tablecloth (not shown in this photo) was the underpinning for a vintage blue checked cloth with diamond patterned placemats and navy napkins paired with red polka dot ones.
This fun stemware is 4th of July appropriate with the red and white striped straw!
We celebrate our country’s birthday and my brother’s birthday each year at our home.
We keep it simple…the menu never changes: grilled burgers and hot dogs, birthday cake and home-made vanilla ice cream!
The center piece was quick and easy. I picked up blue hydrangeas and red roses from the grocery store. White crepe myrtle blooms were cut from the yard.
The festive banner is from Hobby Lobby!
On either side of the flowers are cobalt vases with mini American flags! I had to pull out the vintage Schwinn 3-wheel bicycle for the background!
The patriotic burlap wreath was purchased last year on sale at Kirkland’s!
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Proverbs 25:11
You can see a similar red, white, and blue floral arrangement that I made here.

Just gorgeous Pam…I always love having a virtual seat at your table, especially if there’s a garden view! Such pretty red, white and blue dish layers on your table, topped off with your beauitful flower arrangement! Our heat has been oppressive here, even stepping outside takes your breath away, Thank you for the beauty you share, it’s always a pleasure to blog hop with you. ♥
Thank you Mary, stay cool today!
This is classic Americana at its best, Pam! Love the bike addition. We keep our menu classic too, with burgers & hot dogs, though sides and desserts may vary just a bit, depending on the mood. I love the view from the pergola setting in your garden.
Thank you so much Rita. The humidity has been a killer. We are getting rain, but it hasn’t helped the heat! Have a wonderful day!
You have given unique idea of displaying colorful flowers.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful post.
Thank you for visiting, have a wonderful day!
Pam, you are an expert in mixing patterns! I love your view and your table is festive, patriotic and striking. You do color and texture so well. I’m loving your flower arrangement flanked by the American flags! So appropriate!
Enjoy your 4th celebration with your family. You are blessed to have them close by.
Pinning for sure.
Thank you sweet friend! I can’t wait to see yours tomorrow!
Pam, this just couldn’t be any prettier!
Thank you Stacey!❤️???
It’s perfect Pam! LOVE the bicycle in the background and the mixed patterns on the table give the setting a real picnic like family feel. As always your garden is a beautiful setting, and your mix of red, white, and blue dishware is so pretty but still feels casual enough for a yummy backyard BBQ. Your menu sounds perfect!
Jenna
Thank you Jenna, looking forward to your Tablescape tomorrow!??
Beautiful Pam!!! Your table is so inviting in that gorgeous garden of yours. Your mix mix of plaids, polka dots, and every other pattern is fabulous and your flowers are stunning. But you knocked it out of the park when you set the bicycle in the background!!! I am drooling at the words – homemade vanilla ice-cream! I am honored to blog hop with you and your spectacular table settings. Enjoy your birthday celebration.
Thank you sweet Ann!
That’s the thing about hydrangea — they are such simple,, showy and beautiful arrangements. Add the roses and myrtle and voila! It looks great on the table and in that vase. The whole table is just fabulous and it’s a good thing I’m not within easy driving distance because that menu (especially the ice cream) sounds to die for. I think you make every day a beautiful one. I love it!
You are so sweet and encouraging, Jeanie! Have a wonderful day!
Oh, Pam – so very pretty and festive. I love everything, from the tablecloth to your gorgeous centerpiece. And, the polka dot napkins are great ~ I am a lover of just about anything with polka dots. And, the bicycle looks like the bike I had growing up. All perfect with your beautiful garden as the view.
Happy Fourth of July to you and your family – Happy Birthday wishes to your brother! Enjoy that home-made ice cream !
Thank you sweet friend! It is another hot and steamy day here. I need to weed, but it was so hot early I talked myself out of it!
Pam, I agree with Bonnie and others that you are a master of pulling together the perfect colors and fabrics and design for an extraordinary table. I don’t want to forget the flower arrangement. Hydrangeas with roses makes for a stunning centerpiece. The most beautiful wedding reception flowers I have ever seen were hydrangeas and red roses. Perfection and then the blue bicycle enters the picture!! Background a WOW…just awesome.
Thank you sweet friend! I wish all my blogging friends could join me❤️???
beautiful combinations with patriotic colors, I think this time you have overcome.
Congratulations
Dolores

Good Afternoon Pam,
I think I may have figured out how to comment. Now that would be something else wouldn’t it!
Well goodness, this is all magazine picture perfect. From the bike in the background to your front door with the festive and gorgeous wreath. All of the detail of this Americana table are gloriously beautiful and your mix of my favorite flowers for your centerpiece looks like it’s from a florist. You always, always set and style a very classy table!
Thank you so much Jemma. Have a lovely Wednesday!
Pam, there I was enjoying viewing your patriotic tablescape when I saw the Schwinn blue bike in the background —- bee still my heart! I am now deeply envious of it! When and where did you get it? It’s just fabulous and perfect for riding in a July 4th parade!
Thank you Debbee. The bike belonged to my chosen daughter’s grandmother and she gave it to me. It would be perfect for a parade!

Absolutely adore this! And oh…that bike in the background! I am a sucker for blue and white and then when some red is added…Oh be still my heart! Happy 4th. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Thank you Cindy! Have a joy-filled Wednesday!
Bee-yoo-tee-ful!!!!!!!! While the color scheme is all familiar, the look is very fresh! I’m so in love with those chargers it’s probably illegal!!! I have ruffled chargers in 3 or 4 colors, but nothing like this brilliant blue!!! I love the pattern mix from tabletop up, especially the placemat against the tablecloth!!!!!!!! I hope you’re able to stay cool in the heat and humidity to come. Our temps here are forecast to hit the upper 90s with heat indices around 110 over the next few days. I’m planning to move all my movable potted plants out of the direct sunlight!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Alycia, thank you for your visit! The temps and humidities are a bit unbearable. You stay in and stay cool. Wishing you a Happy 4th of July!

Another beautiful post, Pam. I love the red, white, and blue bowls! Since I love red, white and blue (and yellow!) you might want to will those to me, although you will probably be around longer than I am! And as you know, I do not “need” any more dishes. But I did have some gifted to me just yesterday, the Churchill blue (maybe blue willow?) pattern. I love them!
Thank you Patti. Wow, more dishes!! I need photos of them.
have I ever told you how envious I am of your yard?! I mean, WOW!
All the details are immaculate, and I love it from every angle. Happy long weekend!
