“Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.”
Ecclesiastes 7:9
Hello my friends…can you believe that today is the last day of July?! School starts next week, which means I will be keeping my precious Ella Mae three days a week. I love the time that I get to spend with her!
You all know how much I love setting a table in the garden, and this past weekend the lower humidity made being outside much more pleasant. It was nice Sunday evening with a light breeze blowing, perfect for setting a table in the garden. Before we know it, autumn will be here…and with the season’s change, come the change of colors. Soon we will see hues of rust, gold, and burgundy, but for now I am still loving the colors of summer!

The colors in the April Cornell tablecloth were the inspiration…
…with bright pops of red and yellow…
…and colorful zinnias in bottles!
…combine for a summertime table!
The Eastern tiger swallowtail kept flitting around the zinnias on the table!
White dinner plates and watermelon salad plates completed the table!
Close-up of the cute placemats that I have had for several years. The best part about setting this summertime table was I already had everything on hand. The zinnias were cut from the garden, so I didn’t spend any money.
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Proverbs 25:11
Thank you for visiting with me and taking time to leave a comment. I read each one and always reply even if it takes a few day. I love spending time with you all! Wishing everyone a joy-filled week!

Good Morning, Pam. What a treat this post is. Love the tablecloth and your zinnias. The ones I planted in June are just setting on their blooms. But, I am crazy for the placemats and those watermelon salad plates. Such a festive summer table ~ it is summer in bloom.
It is hard to believe we are to the end of July. We must enjoy these next few weeks. Have a wonderful week and
get ready for your sweet Ella Mae.
Thank you Sandra. Hopefully we get much needed rain today. Have a lovely day!
So colourful, Pam, like a carnival! I haven’t seen placemats like that before. The butterfly pic is a keeper!

Beautiful table, and it is so lovely to eat outside when the humidity is lower.
Thank you Carole, hopefully we will get some rain today!
Beautiful, table, Pam! I can certainly see how those AC textiles and fun colors inspired, not to mention the beauty in the garden and the lower humidity! We had the same break, and I spent the entire day (Sunday) outside, just enjoying the garden.
Thank you Rita! We have 90% rain chance today and we are in need of it, especially the garden!
Pam, this is such a beautiful table! The gorgeous tablecloth caught my eye right away! April

Delightful and charming! You amaze me every week! The butterfly on your zinnias stole my heart. I haven’t had many butterflies this year and I am puzzled.

I have a lot of these swallowtails this year. They love the vinca and zinnias!
Oh Pam…we have had a break in the weather too and the Captain and I enjoyed fresh, grilled (cold) shrimp and a garden salad outside today. I love the colors of that pretty tablecloth…lovely garden as usual. I want all your flowers in my garden. Hugs

How I love this tablescape! It ticks every box of things that make me happy. I would fly you or your garden designer here if I thought I could get a garden that looks anything like yours. It is glorious!
Martha, how kind your comments are. We are the designers and gardeners! It is hard work, but enjoyable!
It is colorful, cheerful and beautiful ??????
have a great wend
Thank you so much!
Lovely! I adore April Cornell’s designs and they look so beautiful paired with your watermelon plates and stemware. Who wouldn’t delight in an invite to sit in your garden! Nice work. Popping over from Celebrate Your Story.
Thanks so much for visiting. I love April Cornell designs as well. Happy Tuesday!
WOW- Pam, I don’t know your blog well and have MIA myself all summer – but boy oh boy did your tabelscape shout at me today! It’s GORGEOUS – absolute perfection – with that yard of yours, wow wow wow – stunning.
I love your Bible verses too – and that you shopped your house to put such beauty together.
My tables indoors have been under plastic painter’s cloths all summer as we’re getting woodwork and painting done…..and it is taking forever! And it’s just been entirely too steamy hot outside to even spend more than 5 minutes out there. So – been a long long while since I have done a tablescape or any entertaining. 🙁
Thank you for your post, I needed it! LOL! Have a happy day!
Michele, I feel your pain. We are painting inside and we have been at it for six weeks! Thanks for you sweet comments
