He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8
Maybe this visitor will keep the insects away from our picnic!
A clematis that is pretty but not native and considered by many to be invasive.
Red barns always get our attention!
A close look reveals a little “egg on the face”. EM loves her some scrambled eggs!
Our clematis decided to have a few late August blooms!
Recent rains brought on some colorful mushrooms in shady parts of the yard.
Ella Mae spotted these “toykees”. She loves to watch them run!
Purple passionflower. Spotted this one in south Texas!
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Are they really wild sunflowers? They look like our marigolds, the med. bush ones. They give us some colour in Winter. Passionflowers look like something alien, don’t they? Ours climbed right up into the dead peach tree we took down recently. It never fruits, however. I’m guessing it needs a friend nearby. E M has something else on her face besides egg- love.
Thank you Cath. Hope your Sunday has been joy-filled!
EM definitely has love on her face. Thank you Cath!
Beautiful photography Pam. I brought back a piece of my sisters’ clematis many years ago hoping it could take Colorados cold weather. I love the honey like smell when it blooms. It has grown to cover a porch post every year and I get a little NC love when it blooms. Happy Sunday!
How wonderful that the clematis has adapted to your Colorado winters! Blessings on you Sunday!
Love this post ~ so happy. I so enjoyed seeing your praying mantis. They are such special little things, I always feel like they only show themselves to people who enjoy them.
Ella Mae of course steals the show, egg and all. And, I could look at the sunset all day!
Wishing you and your family a beautiful day!
Thank you Sandra. Have a blessed week~
Love the “toykeys” and Ella Mae’s adorable dress! And those mushrooms, they look like something out of a children’s movie, how pretty! Happy Sunday Butch and Pam…

Aw! Little Ella Mae is just so sweet! What a dollbaby!!! And, your photos are so inspiring, as always! God bless you, my friend,
EM’s dress and that smile – so cute! I’m seeing the Autumn clematis in the neighborhood too, hoping to see repeat blooms on my Jackmanni like you’ve seen! Those mushrooms look like little tomatoes! Happy Sunday…
So pretty Pam… we have wild flowers called coreopsis that look like a yellow daisy with a yellow center here similar to the flower you showed. Love them all!!!
Gorgeous Sunday in your neck of the woods! I planted the same clematis last year and it took! It may very well bloom here in a few weeks.
Em is cuter then cute!
Happy Sunday my friend!
I love the wild clematis that I always see growing wild in August on fence rows. I asked my biology teacher/horticultural friend what it was called. The “old folks” in Appalachia, (where I live) called it “Virgin’s Bower”: because in the late 1800’s people would pick it to make garlands and bouquets for weddings. The name is because Sometimes it causes contact dermatitis and the day after the weddings the bride or bridesmaids would have a rash where the flowers would have touched their skin.
I recently helped make the table decorations of fresh flowers for The Jonesborough, TN Farm to Table dinner. We used wild flowers and locally grown flowers. We included some Virgins Bower and it was beautiful!
I always leave with a smile, your words and photos are so uplifting, Ella Mae is so precious, I love wild toykees too and we have a few show up around here from time to time.
Thanks for sharing.
Sue
