“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
Happy Tuesday sweet friends. As I am watching the projected path of Hurricane Florence, I am praying for all of you who are in harm’s way. I am sure you are getting prepared and battening down the hatches.
I would be amiss not to mention the significance of this day 17 years ago. It’s one of those moments that everyone remembers where they were when our country was attacked and those Twin Towers fell. As Americans, we will always remember the tragedy of that day and the lives that were lost.
With hurricanes lined up in the ocean, and the grief our country experiences on this day, 9/11, sharing a tablescape seems rather frivolous, but hopefully this will be a bright spot in your day!
Late Sunday afternoon was challenging as ominous thunderstorms and lightning were nearby. I set a record time of one hour to set the table, photograph, take it down, and put it all away. Why can’t I always do that? Please grab a garden chair and join me for a rooster parade!

I had no ideas for a tablescape this week and to be perfectly honest, that happens often. I opened up my linen closet to look at tablecloths and my eyes fell on a lovely French inspired toile one. I remembered that I had napkins that matched the border on the cloth, so a plan quickly developed!
The Fitz and Floyd roosters came out of hiding to join the roosters parading on the tablecloth.
Rooster salad plates seemed appropriate…
…as did amber colored stemware!
A wood slice charger grounded the roosters…
…and one of them decided to wear a bouquet!
I recycled flowers from last week’s Floral Friday. I don’t like waste, so why not…
…use the alstroemerias, protea, and loropetalum?
Hammered stainless steel flatware was a recent purchase for our everyday use.
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Proverbs 25:11
I would have loved to had dinner in the garden, but it was a rain-out!
I so appreciate your visits and the comments that you leave. They always make my day.

Jaw dropping beautiful Pam. I will never forget this day and all those who lost their lives. Praying for all those in the path of this hurricane also. Your table is over the top. Love your new hammered stainless. I am a rooster person also.
Thank you so much sweet friend. Hugs and blessings~
Pam, I love this gorgeous tablescape with its French Country theme! The tablecloth is beautiful and makes such a striking backdrop. The colorful Fitz and Floyd roosters and sweet rooster plates grace the table perfectly. As always, beautifully done sweet friend!!!
Thank you dear friend. Wishing you a beautiful day!
Sometimes what we need most are beautiful diversions in the midst of turmoil. Thank you, Pam, it’s lovely. Even we are in the path of Florence, which is incredible, given we are at best 5-6 hours inland from the closest eastern shore. Praying for those directly in the path of Florence’s destruction, especially at this most sensitive time in our nation’s history.
Rita, this storm looks extremely dangerous. Stay safe my friend!
Pam, your table is gorgeous. If by chance your tablecloth comes up missing, I pulled it through the screen. I just couldn’t help myself it is so gorgeous and I am a little crazy about toile.
I so agree with Rita this morning. We do need a “diversion from all the turmoil.” I am about 2 hours north of Rita and it looks as though Florence will bring havoc to our entire state. And, I am so concerned for all my dear friends on the coast of VA. and those who are directly in the path of this dangerous storm.
Thank you for this lovely post this morning, Pam. It brings beauty to our world and lightens our hearts. Wishing you a wonderful day !
Sandra, I have been thinking of you and Rita. This is a particularly frightening hurricane. My prayers are with you and everyone who could be in harm’s way. Stay safe sweet friend! Thank you for your kind words.
Pam… I love your table so much. My den is done with a french country flare and I never get tired of it. I made pillows in that fabric. I wish you were my neighbor so that I could see all your tablescapes in person. Enjoy your week.
Thank you, Katie. A little French country flare always works for me!
Your roosters look just wonderful with that particular tablecloth. Fitz and Floyd does them well — it doesn’t shriek hard-core fall yet really captures the transitional feeling of warm summer and autumn. Very nice!
Thank you Jeanie!
I am praying for all in the path of this storm. Also for those that lost their spouses, mothers, fathers, children and friends so many years ago. I ask God for protection of all those in the path of this hurricane and for those remembering this terrible day and their loss.
Pam, your table is so happy and colorful. Delightfully done. You have so many lovely pieces. The bouquet for the rooster was clever and very effective for your table.
Thank you Bonnie, have a wonderful day!
I love toile and roosters, so this is one of my favorite settings!
Thank you Penny!
LOVE the tablecloth and napkins Pam! The roosters are a wonderful treat seated on a wooden slab bursting with flowers and color, just beautiful! And set against the fall grasses is in more spectacular! I had to laugh when I read about your whirlwind tablescape, been there done that myself sometimes ? It’s almost like “Did that really happen?” with only photos to prove that it did! Your table is definitely a bright spot in this day of remembering 9/11 and praying for our Southern neighbors…
Jenna
Thank you Jenna! I wish I could do all my tablescapes in an hour?
Pam, you may be surprised to know that this is one of my favorites! The toile tablecloth is simply beautiful!
Polly, thank you so very much. I am glad you like it❤️
Thank you for the beautiful diversion this morning. My mom decorated her kitchen with roosters, and now my sister is using them. I am so worried for her and all my family in Charleston.
Prayers for your sister and her family. Will they evacuate, Roxanne?
They are watching and waiting at the moment. Thank you for prayers.
Thank you Pam for faithfully taking time to make a bright spot in our day, it did. I love the way you decorate and this French country arrangement. Romans 12:12 especially encouraged me today, thank you. Praying for safety and comfort for you and your family and for all those who are in the storm’s path. Remembering this somber day and praying for America. God bless you sweet lady.
Vivian, your sweet comments made my day. God bless you.
Thank you, Pam.
Oh my!!!That table is wonderful!Loooove the toile cloth, the napkins and the roosters, everything is perfect! And so cheerful!Today is my son’s birthday…When the tragedy happened he was only three years old,we thought it was the beggining of a third world war…We are not American but we felt devastated too.Blessings to all of you.Hugs!
Happy 20th birthday to your son and your sweet sentiments, Maristella! Hugs sweet friend❤️

Marion
Thank you dear Marion!
Love this French rhymed table and the flowers in the rooster!
This day always makes me cringe thinking about it. My husband was in Mexico on a project and could not get back into the USA. I went to bed that night thinking it was really quiet but woke up about midnight with my house actually shacking because of all the jets flying low over our area. At daybreak it became quiet again and I found out the reason for the many, many planes. It was because President Bush was in a bunker out east. Cheyenne Mountain apparently was on full alert. Scary!!!!!
Thank you Alice. I think we all remember what we were doing on that morning. Let us never forget!
You created all that beauty and took it away in an hour?…Fabulous job and table!…Love the brilliant colors and theme…and must say I had to look twice at those napkins…I had my master bedroom in a previous home wallpapered in that same design and color! I think we will always remember what we were doing when that horrific event happened to our precious country and took the lives of so many innocent people/heroes….
Have a wonderful week…we will be experiencing the effects of Florence and I pray for everyone’s safety….
Thank you Shirley. Stay safe and I am sending prayers and hugs❤️
