“No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.”
1 John 4:12
Hello sweet friends…I hope you are all having a great week! It is very cold and rainy at our house. The rain began on Sunday night and it has rained on and off since then. I so wish I could send some rain to those in California, where tragic wildfires have been so devastating…please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. The weather has made for the perfect time to stay indoors and catch up on some reading and to organize my thoughts for decorating our house for Christmas. I have not quite settled on exactly how I will decorate the house this year, so I guess you can say I am having visions of sugar plums dancing through my head! I always look back on my photos to see what I did in previous years, so why not share some of them with you! While you pull out a chair, I will make us a pumpkin spice latte.
Many of you have asked questions about the greenery around my kitchen door. My Renaissance Man cuts the pine and dresses the door each year. It smells just like Christmas when you walk onto the porch!
The candles are lit each night during the season.
Where will the nutcrackers land this year, I cant decide!
I added this sweet trio of snow carolers last year. They fascinated Ella Mae…they were just her size!
Every year when I carefully unwrap each Radko ornament memories flood my mind. Most of them were given to me by family and friends…precious keepsakes!
Fresh fruit and greenery are a simple and fragrant centerpiece for the dining room!
A treasured ceramic church that my beloved Mother made many years ago is always given a place of honor.
The coffee table is the perfect place to serve a little sweet bite…red velvet fudge…
A couple of years ago we scaled back on the size of our family room tree. It is a lot more manageable and easier to decorate!
It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit, your comments always make my day! Have you started decorating or do you wait until after Thanksgiving?
Be sure to come back for Floral Friday tomorrow!

I like the carollers best, Pam as I was in choirs for years. We don’t have door to door carolling here, though our town has an annual community Christmas carols concert in the local theatre.
My table plans are secret, though I will email them to you so we don’t “wear the same dress”,lol.
Cath
Cath, I didn’t know that you sing. Christmas music will be playing non-stop beginning the day after Thanksgiving. I love your table plans❤️
Beautiful, Pam. As I think you know, I do not decorate for Christmas until at least Dec. 1. I love Thanksgiving so much, and I do not want Thanksgiving consumed by Christmas. With my birthday being at the end of November, I like to celebrate that without it also being consumed by Christmas. Some years it is the middle of Dec before I am decorated for Christmas, and I always wonder why I do so much for only 2-3 weeks of enjoyment, but when I am finished with the decorating, I am always glad that did.
I know you are in full Thanksgiving mode dear friend. Sending my love!
Pam, everything is so beautiful. We have purchased a smaller tree this year as well. So I am anxious to see how it turns out. The pine around your door is gorgeous and I can just imagine the treat it is to pass through your door. I do miss the long needle pines. As for our decorating, our village is all settled, thanks to hubby. That is is project, the tree is up but not decorated, and the candles are in the windows. There is still much to do, but will wait to finish after Thanksgiving. Always bake my fruit cakes the day after Thanksgiving. It looks like the holidays are here, I do hope they go slowly. Thanks for such a beautiful post, will see you tomorrow. ❤
Thank you dear Sandra. You have a good start on your decorating. I think you will enjoy the smaller tree. I hope you will share your fruitcake recipe. I have been making fruitcakes ever since my beloved Mother passed away. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without them. Blessings on your Thursday!
Pam, such beautiful Christmas decorating inspiration this morning! Your home always looks so beautiful, warm, and inviting. Since, I go to my parent’s house for Thanksgiving, I’ve started decorating this week. Plus, it was snowing Monday which really put me in the mood. Enjoy your day, sweet friend!
Thank you sweet friend. Enjoy your weekend!
Like you, I am still mentally planning! The cold rain is making browsing ideas and old photos with a hot cup of coffee just delightful. I am with Patti about enjoying Thanksgiving and my Fall decorations through November. So much to be thankful for in our family this year while we pray for the people in California. I love your mother’s church, such a very precious treasure.
Thank you Roxanne. I am in full planning for my Thanksgiving meal, I love sitting down with my family all gathered around. Have a wonderful weekend my friend❤️
Such gorgeous decor, Pam. In my efforts to simplify, two criteria are in my mind: is it extremely fragile? Does it take a lot of space in storage? While I’ve placed things in the store for sale, so far some of those larger items haven’t sold. Maybe it’s because my mind isn’t totally sold on the idea. The ceramic church and all your ornaments are certainly where the memories beat out the doubt of things to purge. Tradition is hard to beat out too. I’m not one to purge for the sake of buying all new each year. But just adding a few small things certainly has it’s way of catching up, doesn’t it?!
Thank you Rita. I agree not to purge to just buy new. Christmas is all about memories for me. Treasured hand-made gifts from friends and family are always used every year. I have so much stuff collected over the years that hasn’t been used for a while, those are the things I need to purge.
It’s fun to look at all your decorations (and have a bit of “greens” envy when I see the beautiful greens Butch does for your door. I’m headed to the greens market on Sunday (after our art sale weekend — I’ll be glad for Monday so I can rest!). I’m both eager to start decorating and not quite ready so your inspiration is the perfect does of Christmas for me today!
Jeanie, have a wonderful art sale weekend. It sounds like fun!
How fun seeing your Christmas pasts!
Thank you Penny!
What a special treat to see your beautiful decorations from years past. The ceramic church your Mother made is so special. I have not started decorating because my. grandson, Davis, insists that we have Thanksgiving first. Since my daughter and I both love Christmas so much, it is hard for us to hold off. I doubt that I add anything new to what I have as I have years of special and meaningful decorations. I always get fresh greenery and make my own bows. My plan is to put both trees up the day after Thankgiving. It goes so fast. Maddie and I have been singing carols every afternoon on the way home from school. Thank you for sharing.
How fun to sing Christmas carols with Maddie. The decorating will begin on the day after Thanksgiving. Thank you sweet friend❤️
Enjoyed your Christmas past and looking forward to Christmas ? present. The greens would be my favorite. I can almost smell them in Wyoming. I’m with the Thanksgiving crowd. I really enjoy that holiday too. My son will be having dinner again this year. Then we’ll have Christmas dinner. I had knee replacement surgery so not much decorating for me this year. I usually try to decorate for fall before Halloween. I love the colors. The holidays must be so fun with Ella Mae around. It will just get better and better. Our great granddaughter is now one so added fun for U.S. but what to give her and our great grandsons. ??
Thank you so much Carol. I hope you are doing well with your knee replacement. Yes, having a 2 1/2 year old granddaughter makes everything special as you know with your great grands. Have you stopped blogging?
Thanks Pam, my knee physical therapy is going great. It gets stiff though. The pain is tapering off which is good. I’m trying to find my own ideas for blogging. The writing doesn’t come easy for me.
I made your red velvet fudge last year and can’t wait to make it again. Such a hit!
I am planning on making again. I am so glad you like the recipe!
I agree with you,Pam!It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!Love everything but that gorgeous church caught my eye!Hugs, dear friend!
Thank you sweet Maristella! Hugs~
Pam all of your decorations are lovely but being a Pink lover, the church in pink is my favorite.
Marilyn
Thank you so much Marilyn, I am also quite fond of it!
Thank You for sharing your Christmas decorations. The plaid mugs are so pretty and the carolers are nice. We decorate after Thanksgiving.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Marion and Marilyn
Happy Thanksgiving Marion and Marilyn!
I was very excited to remember some pieces that show us from other years. You know that my favorites are the nutcrackers, they are great pieces. Another thing that deserves my greatest attention and affection is the ceramic church that remembers your mother … she is very beautiful.
You have very interesting objects for their beauty and memories of other family moments.
I am sure that this year will be as always spectacular. No … you do not need to put much effort into it, I know that your creativity and Butch will be more than enough.
A big hug
Dolores
Dolores, tienes un recuerdo increíble de que recuerdas algo de mi decoración navideña de años pasados. ¡Nos encanta decorar nuestro hogar y disfrutamos mucho al usar las cosas que nos traen tantos recuerdos! Bendiciones y abrazos, Pam
You are so inspiring Pam, thank you :-D…
Blessings,
Jennifer
Thank you Jennifer!
hello Pam, what a beauty! Every single pic is a masterpiece. Love them all ????????
Thank you so much Gisella?
Your Christmas pasts are inspiring and I can’t wait to see how you put everything together this year. When we lived in New Hampshire, I would always cut greens for the two iron urns I had on our front porch. It was so cold, that they looked good well into the new year. I miss the look here in Florida with palm trees by the front door…not so Christmasy.
That is quite a difference in New Hampshire and Florida Living. Thank you Karen!
Everything is so inspiring Pam. I admit I had intentions of waiting until at least wednesday, but I couldn’t resist. The thought of lights not working or having to re-wire something at the last minute always makes me start a couple days earlier then most. I started today by just putting the trees out in their perspective spots to see if that is where they’ll stay.
I am in love with your radko ornaments. I need to start adding those to my collection.
Christine, I understand going ahead. If I wasn’t hosting Thanksgiving, I would start today. Wishing you a most wonderful Thanksgiving!
Thanks for the Christmas inspiration Pam! I especially love the big swag of pine on your door and your gorgeous tree! I always look forward to unpacking the Radko each year too. Your fudge looks delicious! ♥
Thank you Mary. I always love the Radkos and the glitz they add to the tree!
How Lovely you have made your home for the holidays. I’m with you on memories and nostalgia. I think being ‘IN Style’ means you have none of your own. If your decor has no connection or meaning–it’s just decor–! Love your post from beginning to end, Sandi.
Thank you Sandi. I agree with your “in style” comment.
Everything looks sooo cozy and beautiful–just the way I always envision Christmas.
Thank you dear Bobbi, hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful!
