“And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
Philippians 2:8
Hello sweet friends! I hope you are having a good week so far and that you are enjoying spring blooms and lovely weather. It has been a beautiful spring here in NE AL with the dogwoods, redbuds, and cherry trees putting on a fabulous show. Normally on Tuesday there is a tablescape, but today I am sharing a little vignette that I put together for my foyer. With the new life that we see all around us, it is my hope that we will turn our eyes to Jesus and the new life that He offers us.
A couple of months ago we purchased six acres that adjoins us. This property has an old barn and you also might remember last year the 1860 historic home which caught fire and burned. All that remains are the brick fireplaces and this one porch column. We are amazed that this gorgeous cherry tree that sat so close to the home was not damaged by the fire and intense heat! Butch and I rode down on the Arctic Cat so he could cut a few branches for me to enjoy!
Their pink blooms are gorgeous! If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen my picnic table covered in the cherry branches.
With Easter fast approaching we are preparing to celebrate the victorious resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Today I want to focus and reflect on His cross. Without His death on the cross, there would be no forgiveness of our sin.
A simple vignette with a cross and my Bible remind me of Jesus sacrifice! The blooms announce that new life is here!
A print of the Via Dolorosa was purchased in Old Jerusalem on a trip to the Holy Land. I remember so well walking this small street within the ancient walls.
The Via Dolorosa (Way of Suffering) is believed to be the path that Jesus walked, carrying His cross on the way to His crucifixion. You can read about our trip here and here.
“And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
Philippians 2:8
“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:3-5
Thank you so much for your visits and sweet comments. I will be sharing an Easter tablescape on Friday, hope to see you then. Have a joy-filled day!

So humbled at what our Lord done for us. I was carrying two of my grand girls to school this morning and my 11 year old grand was telling me all about Easter and what it meant and how heart broke at what Jesus done for her on the cross. Pam, I was about to turn bapticostal in the car! LOL! Just melted my old Nana heart. What a picture of true love when I look at that cross. Love your cherry blossoms. So very pretty. Speaking of new life…how’s the newest addition? Hugs and blessings, Cindy

I so loved that your Bible is opened to Isaiah 54 and 55. Oh that we would understand how important that we read and believe that the Old Testament is as revelent today as the New Testament as it prophesied the coming of Christ, (Isaiah 53), and showed what happened to countries that turned away from God. And Jesus said in Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets ; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them” Easter, our celebration of His life and resurrection, coming when the earth is waking up from a cold Winter, Springing back up to life. Praise the Lord.

Amen and Praise the Lord! Thank you Alice❤️

Oh, sometimes I think about that Via Dolorosa, and my heart goes out to our dear Savior once more! To know He walked that anguished walk because of my sins humbles me before Him and makes me love Him with all my heart! I imagine it is quite an experience to actually be there and walk that path and think of all He suffered for us. Your vignette is just amazing and so heartwarming! I, too, am so very thankful that it didn’t end with that agonizing cross, but Jesus came out of that tomb on that first, glorious Easter morning! And, now we have hope! So thankful to visit with you, sweet friend, and I just loved the Scriptures you shared! Have a wonderful Easter season!

What a prophet was Isaiah … He foresaw our beloved Savior and presented Him to us to see
through the ages. Your Scriptural selections are spot-on for the season, Pam. Now to get out
and clip some cherry blossoms and set them around our symbolic vintage lamb and Cross on
our entry table resting on Isaiah passages … You are so inspiring, dear one.
