“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.”
Isaiah 53:3-4
“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
Isaiah 53:5-6
We have enjoyed an abundance of butterflies this year and Gulf Fritillaries have been common.
A calm day on the banks of the Coosa!
The first bloom from our Dahlia Tartan!
A nice Sunday afternoon with our two favorites !
This was in a very shady area in the creek bottom. It is as large as a dinner plate! We aren’t good with identifying fungi but guessing it is a type of bracket fungus?
After weeks of dry hot weather, we were amazed to see so many various mushrooms pop up all over the yard overnight following one welcome rain!
Plant snap tells us this belongs to a genus called Boletus. We will leave it to the mushroom experts to make positive identification!
We thought we might take a stroll through the cotton fields as the harvest is underway. Cotton is an amazing plant and the fields are a sea of white this time of year!
We spotted a John Deere picker in a nearby field so this may be next up for the green machine!
The Appalachian foothills make a nice backdrop!
A lot of cotton in our area is rolled and ready to head to the gin!

Dear Pam, I love your scripture selections this morning. I don’t imagine the Lord is too pleased with our world today. I said to my husband yesterday, “We just have to put our country and the world in God’s hands.”
Your dahlias are gorgeous and oh, those sweet girls. Emma looks very much like you, your dad and son. I know you are so happy to have them close and can enjoy time with them and watch them grow. And of course you know I love those cotton fields. I would have to cut a huge bouquet and place it in an old stone crock.
Thank you, dear friend for a lovely post. Have a beautiful day and week ahead. And I hope you are feeling better.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Sandra. I thought of you while 8 was snapping the cotton fields. They are harvesting earlier this year, maybe because of the drought. Happy Sunday!
Bonnie Morgan says
Love your picture with the kids. Sweet family.
I also love to see the cotton fields all white. I’ve seen lots of hay bales in the fields but not any cotton. I think it is November here before they pick.
We still have not had any rain but it is forecast tomorrow. We are very happy.
Love your dahlias and that picture of the zinnia is so pretty.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks sweet Bonnie. We have had a little rain, but not much to speak of. Have a joy filled Sunday!

Beautiful in every way! We have cotton growing in the field behind our house and I am reminded of the scripture that the fields are ripe unto harvest but the laborers are few. Hope you and Butch have a blessed day and week.

The perfect entry for a perfect day….. The dahlias are show-stoppers and what color ! Cannot
imagine a more joyous photo than of the proud Grandparents and their precious little ones.
Thank you for the closeup of a cotton blossom.. a wonderful teaching tool for a child to see the
beginnings of their jeans…Above all, bless you for the Scriptures that open our minds and hearts to the wisdom of His Word … He has borne all our sorrows and transgressions and, yet,
loves us and still holds out the promise of eternal life with Him if we would but listen and follow.
A happy Sabbath to all.

Friend Pam, today Isaias’ quotes are wonderful, they are a beautiful reason for deep meditation. Thanks for remembering them.
Everything you show is beautiful: the dahlia is perfect, the beautiful landscapes, the cotton … everything.
What can I say about those wonderful little people who are a real beauty !!! I love them … The photo is very beautiful and you two are very well.
Autumn refuses to show itself, here it is very good weather. Hopefully, he will finally have to show his face.
