“Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings “
Psalm 17:8
We awoke to a beautiful snowfall Tuesday morning!
Our breakfast view
The Main House (pre-snow) where breakfast and lunch is served…the public spaces invite you to sit down and stay awhile!
Nestled in the trees, “Indigo Bunting” was our cottage for three days
The living area with its comfy seating, coffee table books, wood burning fireplace, and a treetop view!
As an interior decorator, you learn to pay attention to every little detail-and the folks at Blackberry Farm do the same!
The bath is a spa in itself with walk-in rainfall shower, heated natural stone tile floor, and deep soaking tub!
Dinner was served nightly in the barn with its warm ambiance! I used this photo from their website! Go here to see more: Blackberry Farm
A large stone fireplace with a crackling fire, the warm glow of candles, a single white tulip made for romantic dinners!
Hearth roasted snapper with spinach, oyster mushrooms, and marcona almonds!
The main house has the feel of a much loved and grand old home in the Cotswolds passed from generation to generation! The sitting room with a lovely view of the mountains, comfy seating, roaring fire, and warm wood paneled walls welcomes you to sit and relax (and we did)!
A very cloudy and misty day prevented the view of the mountains, but notice the size of the magnolia tree just outside on the terrace!
Cozy nook in the sitting room with slip covered chairs and oil paintings on the beautiful paneled walls
Hot Chocolate+fire=bliss!
Dining at this table, we enjoyed a breakfast of fresh pastries, wild mushroom omelette, griddle cakes, thick sliced bacon, fresh fruit, house made biscuits, stone ground grits, and steaming mugs of coffee! Absolute perfection!
A light lunch of smoked pimento cheese, house-made potato chips, radish and celery!
Love the wallpaper!
Great place for a cup of cocoa on a cold Monday afternoon!
The dining area in the Main House
Notice the simplicity of the light wood table, leather chairs, and art work…casual elegance!
Bells of Ireland in pottery! Love!
Even though the weather was dreary on our walk Monday afternoon, the scenery was breathtaking! Winter has its own beauty!
Butch and I had relaxing time at the Wellhouse, the Farm’s new spa. Have I ever mentioned how much I love a spa?!
Monday was our anniversary and the food was perfect at The Barn!
The chef sent us a surprise–Red Velvet!!
42 years!
Tuesday’s weather was an extra blessing we weren’t expecting! The magnolia and mountains drastically changed from the day before! Look at that view!
Winter’s tranquility and peace! Have you ever noticed how snow muffles sound?
The Barn, a foodie’s paradise!
“Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom…”
-Chris Tomlin

Belated Happy Anniversary. 42 yrs. did they fly by? Our 46 seemed to. Where did they go? We’ve moved a few times, raised 4 kids.
If we’d known about that gorgeous place when we lived in KY we might have gone there, so breath taking. Imagine how gorgeous it will be in all the other seasons. So glad you treated yourselves and celebrated. Kinda nice to get to see it with all the snow, were there alot of people there? The food alone would be worth the trip let alone that scenery. What an incredible place to spend your anniversary. Happy week
