“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God”
2 Corinthians 5:21
When I get my mind set on something, I will do whatever it takes to make it happen. Now, that can be a good thing or a bad thing…hopefully mostly good! I have been wanting to have a waffle bar for some time now, and I thought what better day to do that than Mother’s Day!? I would have my family over and we would enjoy waffles with all the fixin’s…so much fun, right? Well, Butch decided to take over Mother’s Day and it was absolutely perfect…complete with his grilled burgers! But, I still wanted to have my waffle bar! So when Monday rolled around, I did just that! This is such a fun and easy idea for the whole family…besides, who doesn’t love a waffle?!
As you can see, chalkboard writing is not my forte!
I have a new Belgian waffle maker, so I had to try it out and it so much easier than mine that came over on the ark!
My eight foot island in the kitchen is perfect for buffets and help-yourself-style meals!

Fresh blueberries and strawberries with chocolate chips for toppings!
Chalkboard paper runner is from Sur la Table.

My charcuterie board is often used on the kitchen island…a treasure that was made in Europe of 19th century wood and purchased at Blackberry Farm.
Fresh whipped cream, powdered sugar, and sprinkles for topping off the waffles!
Butch can’t be without his favorite syrup, made in Fayette, Alabama since 1928!
Toppings not pictured, but that we enjoyed were white chocolate chips, coconut, and of course, butter!
If you enjoy having family and friends for Sunday night dinner, this would be a perfect idea. You could even introduce savory to the menu with the addition of fried chicken fingers and gravy!
Can you believe I ate all of this?
What about you? Would you choose a waffle with just butter and syrup or would you go all the way with toppings?

Good morning, Kim…I tried to comment on your tablescape yesterday and I kept losing my comment! I loved it with the black and white checkered cloth, the rooster plates, and French hens. Such a pretty scene outdoors! Thanks, my friend! Happy Thursday!

Oh, boy, I’m sitting here with my mouth drooling!! Everything looks scrumptious and you’ve given me an idea for next year’s Christmas Day breakfast with the family. Thank you for letting me know about the runner from Sur La Table! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

Wow, looks delicious. It would be hard to choose between topping choices. Your buffet is very attractive.
My daughter is carrying on the tradition of waffles with raspberries, chocolate sauce, and cream on waffles for Christmas Eve that her mother-in-law started as a young ministers wife to quickly feed three hungry boys and a husband after church service. I haven’t seen many people turn down waffles much less a waffle bar so tempting.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Bonnie, I love that your daughter is carrying on the tradition of waffles on Christmas Eve! Wishing you a beautiful Sunday!

Wow Pam these look delicious, what to choose!! My son’s idea of heaven on a plate is waffles with Nutella so he would have no problems here!!

Joy, I am with your son…a jar of Nutella is bliss!

After 21 years, the waffle iron I got as a wedding gift finally had enough and sputtered out. I just bought a new one and have been on a waffle kick. Your bar looks scrumptious and now I’m headed to the kitchen to make some more with some of your great ideas! Mmmmmm!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Leslie Anne, who doesn’t like a waffle?? Happy Sunday!
Lori says
Indeed, the waffles and toppings look delicious but what I really love is the way you displayed everything! You used all the perfect dishes and that chalkboard runner is fantastic. An idea you didn’t mention but I spotted in one of the pics is to use a pedestal cake plate to put the plates on – your ruffled green one is so pretty! The beautiful roses make a lovely centerpiece on that fabulously long island – buffets must be a dream on it! Thanks for sharing – you’ve provided lots of inspiration!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Lori, you are so kind! The cake stand was a purchase last fall from TJ Maxx and I didn’t even think to mention it! We have always enjoyed the island for family buffets and holiday entertaining! Wishing you a beautiful week!

This is such a fantastic idea Pam! A great and fun way to feed a group, and they do some of the work themselves! I love all your topping suggestions, especially adding fried chicken! I am pinning this to my beach entertaining board, this would be so much fun to do this summer. I love your handy chalkboard runner too. I was poking around in Hobby Lobby yesterday and now they have chalkboard everything, love the stuff! Also had a package of Belgian waffles in my hand at Costco but put them back, darn!! Super fun, thank you!
