“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.”
Proverbs 10:9
Since the beginning of summer, we have been enjoying the great outdoors for Tablescape Tuesday, but not this week…today, we are taking it inside! You all are invited to join us around our dining room table! We’ve seen some gorgeous autumn tablescapes in the blog world…some simple and some over-the-top…and the season has just begun! I know that there are hundreds of ways to set a seasonal table, but today I want to take it back to the basics…with the traditional orange pumpkin! Yes, I love all the pretty and softer shades of pumpkins, but something about that humble orange just says FALL!
I allow the orange pumpkins to be the stars for this autumn tablesetting!
Using my cream-colored china which you often see, I placed a mini-pumpkin on the salad plates…love this one’s stem.
The centerpiece is really simple…I placed an assortment of pumpkins in a pretty Italian tray that my sweet sister-in-law gave me a couple of years ago. Does it get any easier than this?
On either side of the tray are real antlers (my guys are hunters), which I love to use in fall and winter.
Adding to the centerpiece is a pair of metal flowers that I have had for years. As I have often said, shop your house to find a little something unusual to use for your tablescapes.
I used water hyacinth placemats to provide texture on the bare wood, again so simple – I didn’t even have to iron a tablecloth!

Plaid napkins with embellished napkin rings are added for a little sparkle.

I love the early morning light that pours through the dining room bay windows.

Nicely done, Pam. Lucky to find that stem on the tiny pumpkin! I am loving the basic white (or is that cream?) china, thinking I need (right!) a set for everyday use. I would gladly get rid of one (or more) sets for a nice, classic set of white or cream. hmmm……
Rita C at Panoply says
Noted (by re-reading) that your china is cream. Lovely set.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Rita, the cream china is my workhorse. It is so easy to add color!

Absolutely beautiful and elegant. I love how you featured the orange pumpkin. Such a beautiful color in nature. Not many things that grown have the vibrant color of a pumpkin. When we say pumpkin orange, everyone knows what color it is. Love everything you have done in your tablescape.
