“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others”
Philippians 2:3-4
Can you believe it is November 15? We have a little over 5 weeks before Christmas…and it’s definitely not too early to start thinking about Christmas decorating! This past weekend, we pulled out some small trees to go in my dining room window and I caught the Christmas decorating spirit! It took my mind to beautifully decorated trees, smells of pine and cinnamon, twinkling lights, and mantels decorated with garlands of magnolia and cedar!
Whether its an elaborate decorating job or simply stockings hung by the chimney with care, chances are your mantel gets a little Christmas love! One special memory I treasure is decorating my Mother’s mantel for Christmas and she loved whatever I did!
Today, let’s take a look at some ideas for those mantels…be sure to check out my Pinterest Board Joyeux Noel!

This is unique…magnolia leaves formed into a bow!
A wreath…greenery…and stockings, simple and easy!
I have always loved the idea of a fireplace in the dining room. The simplicity of the fresh garland is so pretty and I can imagine the fragrance!

My blogging friend, Shirley at Housepitality Designs always has a gorgeous mantel for any season!
Has anyone ever done Christmas more beautiful than my fave, Charles Faudree?
Fragrant Paperwhites are always welcome on a mantel.
This could be done with any color, the possibilities are endless.

Oh what a beautiful collection of Christmas mantels…..seeing these truly gets me into the Christmas spirit…but then again, I am in the Christmas spirit all year round…love the Season of Joy…..thanks so much my friend for featuring my mantel!!!
You are most welcome…I know you are busy catching up, but maybe we can talk soon…we haven’t even talked about your trip!
You’re right, Pam, it’s NOT too early now to get busy. I’ve worked on a few table ideas, but need to start hauling things out . I’ll focus outside on a warm day (we’re predicted to have a cold front move in on Sat), then inside. I still love traditional red too (the one where you commented, with the skates), as well as the rustic, and the traditional mantel garland of that DR, immediately following (#4, 5, and 6). Faudree did his rustic so well, so subtle, so handsome, didn’t he?
Yes Rita, Faudree is missed. I am working on a few things already for Christmas! Happy Wednesday
Thanks Pam for the inspiration. I miss seeing Charles Faudrees work in the different magazines but do have some of his books. On another note, some of the pictures you showed these old eyes were so small I couldn’t see them very well and when I enlarged them they were fuzzy so couldn’t make out the details. Can you send us bigger pictures? Thank you.
Alice, I am sorry you are seeing small pictures, what do you view the blog on? I have checked with several people that used different devices and the pictures show up the way I enter them. I am baffled why yours are small. You can click on the photo and it will take you to the original and it should be large and good quality on the mantel post. Do all of my pictures show up small? I will try to figure it out, my friend!
I’m tempted to skip right over Thanksgiving and move on to decorating for Christmas. But with family arriving next week, I think they’d be a bit disappointed not to have all the festivities of Thanksgiving tradition. Oh, well…there’s always the weekend after Turkey Day, right? Thanks for the inspiration to get our brain wheels turning. Happy Tuesday!
Kim, I have a small start on Christmas decorating and doing more this weekend!
Pam, I worked on my tree in the living room yesterday. Today, I am moving on to the mantel. You have showcased some wonderful inspiration. I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!
Shannon, I know your Christmas decor will be fabulous, looking forward to seeing it!
So much beauty ♥
Thanks so much, Summer?
I am such a sucer for Christmas and for mantles! Come November 26, I’ll be bringing it all out! This has provided tons of inspiriation — they are so lovely! Thanks for sharing them.
Can’t wait to see how you decorate for Christmas, I know it will be wonderful!
Pam, these are such beautiful sources of inspiration! My husband and I stopped in a Christmas decor superstore on Sunday evening. I came home wanting to deck the halls! Lol! But, I think I’m going to hold off until after Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing these!
Shenita, I have never decorated prior to Thanksgiving but I am do some hints to get ahead!
Beautiful inspiration Pam. Mantels can be so much fun to decorate. I would love a fireplace in the dining room as well. Have a great week.
Thanks so much Linda, lots to do but always fun!
Wow you found some amazing inspiration photos. Of course, Yvonne and Shirley had to be included…they are so talented. I too still love traditional red at Christmas (and all year) but I’m loving that turquoise picture too.
Stacey, are you going to keep your Christmas decorating simple since you are in a rental and working on a brand new house? I know however you go about it will be perfect!
My mantel is almost impossible to decorate. It is narrow and shallow, a small part of a longer detail. As if that’s not bad enough, the ceiling is 28′ so scale becomes another issue. So much of my holiday decor has to be on tables, and that’s OK with me.
I love Christmas decorating that fits my style and my home, sounds like you do the same…your mantel would be challenging…tabletop is easy and always looks great!
Thanks for sharing so much inspiration with us. Time to think about getting ready for Christmas.
Thanks, Judy…yes a most busy and wonderful time of year!
Lovely inspiration! I still have the December issue with the facing yellow floral sofas and gold reindeer on the coffee table. So elegant!
Bonnie, I am so glad I am not the only one who saves magazines and look through them again. I especially enjoy thumbing through the old Christmas issues!
I have really been in the Christmas spirit since I read your blog about putting up the tree before Thanksgiving and then decorating it afterwards, I think that is such a great idea, and you inspired me to make a non traditional holiday tree to enjoy for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years which is on my blog tomorrow- thank you Pam! And thanks for sharing all these great mantels, I love them all!
Jenna
Jenna, I think you have a great plan with Thanksgiving and Christmas decorating, can’t wait to see to tomorrow’s post.
Lots of gorgeous inspiration Pam! Decorating my mantels is one of my favorite things to do at Christmas time. Loved the red and white one! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Can’t wait to see all your Christmas decor, Jann!
This was great Pam. I enjoyed each photo and did get some inspiration for them!
Thanks so much, Liz!
I actually love all your choices, because they have the main thing as Naturals or Faux Naturals, thanks for the pins, grins, Sandi
Sandi, I do love to use natural elements for Christmas decorating!
so many gorgeous spaces! I do believe I could live with a version of most of them. Happy Thanksgiving. Sheila
Thanks, Sheila…happy decorating!
Thanks for sharing a collection of gorgeous mantles. They are all lovely, but I’d have to say the red and white is my favorite. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Cynthia
Cynthia, I am partial to traditional red at Christmas. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
So many beautiful mantels. I wish my mantel was not so oversized! I will have to take some inspiration from your photos and just do something oversized! Thanks for sharing at Celebrate Your Story!
Thanks Chloe!
Absolutely beautiful Pam. Every single one of them is a gem. I have a rounded mantel and can hardly put anyting on it. These inspire me so much.
Thanks so much, Mary! Mantels can be challenging!
