“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
Psalms 119:11
Hello sweet friends, the weather has been perfect and I had the most beautiful weekend! We celebrated our sweet Ella Mae’s first birthday on Saturday morning with a delicious brunch, birthday cake, fun presents, and lots of laughter. She definitely kept us entertained! Mother’s Day couldn’t have been more perfect…we had our family for late lunch and had the best time! Butch planned and orchestrated it all…what a sweet man he is! We had his famous grilled burgers, baked beans, broccoli salad, and a yummy Oreo pie! And yes, I had to contribute…I made my very favorite cake – hummingbird! It was a special day for many reasons, and we were thrilled to have the newest member of our family, two week-old Gideon with us. My niece, Hannah and her husband, Ryan are the new proud parents! What a gift he is!
I am sure you think today’s tablescape was used for Sunday’s lunch…but no, it wasn’t. Actually, Sunday was a first…shhh, please don’t tell! We used paper products! Now I must explain, since it was Mother’s Day, I let Butch take control of everything…and he wanted me to enjoy our family, just relax and not worry with clean-up. Guess what? I survived and no one but me was bothered…and a good time was had by all!
So this week’s tablescape was just fun for me to create! Since spring is here and all is blooming, I thought we could all enjoy the sweet smell of magnolia blooming here at our house!
The tablecloth was my inspiration…I found it at TJ Maxx last week…I love all its color!
This is really a simple tablescape, quick and easy!
My magnolia tree is blooming and I couldn’t resist the large blooms with their sweet smell! I placed a bloom in three square vases for the centerpiece.
A pair of fly-catchers were included!
Water hyacinth placemats add texture!
Colorful stemware that I still love…a gift from a friend long ago.
There isn’t a plate stack, just a white dinner plate with a turquoise napkin!
“A word fitly spokenis like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
We enjoyed the sweet smell of the magnolia as the sun was setting. Thanks for your visits and your comments make my day!

Oh, what a beautiful tablescape! The stemware, the colors, the floral selection, the scenery…all so pretty & colorful. And to add to this, the special day with loved one. You are blessed, Pam. One memorable occasion to add to your heartfull album of love & life. Blessing to you & your family. May there be many more like this. Lupe W.

Oh my, there is absolutely nothing more outstanding than the magnolia blossom and its leaves. So, so pretty! While the table is pretty, that evening photo is gorgeous!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Rita, thanks so much. We enjoy sitting outside as the sun is setting and listening to the birds chirping…a nice way to relax!

I can smell the Magnolia blooms from here! Your new table cloth is wonderful. It’s perfect with your stemware – always such a nice addition to your tablescapes. Sounds like Sunday was perfect – paper products and all! I’m glad Butch spoiled you a little bit. 🙂
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Kim, we had the best time. After all, it is about spending time with the ones you love so dearly!

Awfully pretty, Pam! I love the colorful tablecloth and the simplicity of the white plates and turquoise napkins. Loads of colorful fun.
I know what you mean about paper. I will gladly use them for a snack by myself or a picnic or an on-the-run kind of thing but rarely for sitting down to dinner. On the other hand, I have a great passion for really beautiful paper ware. Some of the designs are so pretty! But good for Butch, not wanting to add to the work load (for you or anyone else that day!)
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Jeanie, I was aghast when he first mentioned that he was going to use paper products, but we enjoyed the day so much, I got over it!

Paper plates on Mother’s Day! Wherever did you go wrong? Hahahaha! It was the thought behind it that meant so much, and besides, when THEY have to clean it up, it’s a different story, right?
Your magnolias are stunning and make up for any faux pas the men may have caused. Take a deep breath, clutch your pearls, and enjoy the beauty of your table. Then, learn to accept the Chinette.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Probably the first and last time paper products will be used!

Could almost smell the magnolia. Going to NC to my niece’s wedding next week. She is using magnolia in her outside wedding. I’m so excited to be there to take in all the beauty a wedding with magnolia will provide. I would have a hard time going into the house if I was at your home.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alice, I hope you have a wonderful time in NC. Hopefully the weather will be perfect for the wedding. Wishing you safe travels!

Just recently started reading your blog and really like the writings and pictures. I used a combination of paper and linen for my Mother’s day table and I really liked how it ended up looking. I used a paper white tablecloth, a pale pink easter tablecloth runner ( recently bought), pale pink paper placemats and pale pink linen napkins. Why I didn’the take a picture of the table, I don’ the know!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Linda, welcome and I am so glad you found me. Your table sounds so lovely and I wished you had taken a photo to share with me. Thanks for following and have a wonderful rest of the week!

Your magnolias are huge!! Love them with all your colorful accessories! It sounds like you had a perfect Mother’s Day weekend! I spent my Sat. watching my grandson play in a championship baseball game and then hit my favorite Bham stores. Sunday I went to my daughter’s and watched all 4 grands eat ice-cream cones. It was perfect I didn’t cook or clean a thing all weekend! It was so sweet of Butch to take over, so you could relax…I know how you feel about paper products, I cringe when we use them too, but it does make clean up easy! Happy Birthday to Miss Ella Mae!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Jenna, I am so glad you had the weekend off from cooking and cleaning…sounds wonderful!
