“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.”
Proverbs 21:2
Happy Tuesday…and before we even get started today, I want to let you in on a little secret…we’ve got something fun and exciting going on here at Everyday Living. But I can’t tell you about it just yet. You will have to wait until the end of the post! You know that Tuesday always offers a new tablescape here in our corner of the blog world…even when the heat and humidity are off the charts! I think as I get older it bothers me more and more! Many of you, my sweet readers, have mentioned the ornamental grasses in our garden. Butch loves their natural looking appearance…so we have had them in our landscape for years. The three in our garden are called Adagio Maiden Grass. When the grasses bloom with their tall plumes, it makes for a dramatic setting right here in our backyard. Now, let’s step out to the garden table nestled in the grasses…no need to worry, I will provide the insect repellant!
The grasses serve as a backdrop for my garden tablescapes.
Afternoon pop-up showers made for some dark clouds, but the table received only a misting!
I particularly like the colorful paisley tablecloth that I found at TJ Maxx last year…it was the inspiration for the tablesetting!
If you read about the storm we had last week, notice behind the fence the sunflowers have stood back up…just waiting on their big sunny blooms!
Rattan chargers along with the wood slice add texture.
These glasses have brought in a lot of comments and questions…aren’t they beautiful? They seem to be an all time favorite! They were given to me by a friend many years ago, and are no longer available at Pier 1.
A gift from Katy, the sweet little pink jars hold zinnias cut from the garden!
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
The rainbow over our pasture while I was photographing the table…a beautiful reminder of God’s promises!
Thank you dear friends for reading and for the encouraging comments you leave behind!
And now it’s time for our announcement…
Last Friday, I had one of the sweetest surprises I’ve ever had here in the blog world. The extremely talented Jenna @ The Painted Apron featured a painting of one of my gardening pictures on her Fearless Friday, Pam’s Hydrangeas post.
And it’s available for sale in her store! (Trust me you want to check out everything she sells!) The painting she did of my limelight hydrangeas is available on 11 items to purchase…iPhone cases, stationery, throw pillows, prints, clocks, and more! I will be purchasing several of these items for myself, but it was a hard decision to pick what to offer for the giveaway, but I decided on this adorable tote bag!
So, how do I enter the giveaway? I’m so glad you asked. I will be posting a different question at the end of each of my posts this week and when you comment and answer, you are entered to win! So you have 3 opportunities to snag this oh-so-cute tote bag! We will do a random drawing of all of the entries and the winner will be announced on Tuesday August 1. So let’s get to it!
Today’s question is…
If you visit me very often, you are well acquainted with Tablescape Tuesday and Simple + Southern Sunday, but I am anxious to know…what else would you like to see more of here at Everyday Living? Travel? Decorating? Recipes? Gardening? Let me know in the comments for your chance to win!

Love this tablescape and especially those glasses. I want those! Waa.
Might like to see some recipes for the gorgeous food you feature.
Always enjoy your lovely blog! Sundays are my particular favorite– beautiful puctures with meaningful words. Recipes would be nice and maybe share reading selections you (and/or) Butch are enjoying.?
Pat, thank you for your encouraging words about our Sunday series! I really should do more about the books we are currently reading. We both read constantly, Butch finishes at least one book a week and he hasn’t even retired!
The ornamental grasses make a wonderful backdrop for your tables, Pam. Your table cloth today is a favorite of mine. Ahh…, the pretty colors and paisley pattern sing to my soul. I’d love to see decorating tips, tricks, and techniques. You know, how you did it all in your decorating career. The method behind blending things so beautifully – that sort of thing. The tote is beautiful and very useful! Thanks for having this fun give-away. 🙂
Kim, thank you for being one of the first bloggers to reach out when I was new at this blogging thing! Thank you for your suggestions! ?
The rainbow is divine and what a special sign to you that day! I haven’t seen one in ages. In fact, the last one I saw other than in pictures was in France in 2014! I like your zinnias in the sweet pink jars, too. I planted zinnia seed and the rabbits ate the little seedlings. Love how you repeated the straw and natural texture with the chargers and centerpiece. You have a knack for putting things together.
I like all your posts so it is hard to choose what I would like to see. I adore travel but also like decorating.Blogging technology and photography tips would also be nice and helpful.
Bonnie, blogging technology and photography is still what I am working on. Seth is a wonderful photographer, videographer, and aerial photographer. He tries to teach me and he has helped, but his knowledge is more than I can comprehend at one time! ?
Pam: Your blog is beautiful and I so enjoy each and every photo you post. I know you must be a marvelous cook. I would love for you to share your favorite recipes with us, as well as your design thoughts and ideas.
Your table is stunning and so love the colors. Thank you for another lovely post.
Thanks Sandra! Cooking is a pleasure, I struggle with photographing food in my kitchen…I am still working on it!
Pam, I would like to see more recipes.
Your hydrangeas are so gorgeous, how do you get them to grow?
Carol, I don’t do much. We cut the limelight and vanilla-strawberry ones way back in late winter. They have grown so much!
That probably makes a big difference in how bloom next year. ?
Your garden is so special! How wonderful to have a painting to commemorate the beauty.
Don’t enter me for the give away because I’ve already won a wonderful piece from Jenna. 🙂
Thanks Stacey! I am excited to get the painting from Jenna! Blessings sweet friend~
Love your gardening posts with God;s wonderful words added. They bring me joy everytime I read them
Thank you Colleen…God’s Word always encourages!
Pam, this is my favorite table!! So beautiful!! Please let me know if you ever have a garden tour!
I definitely will, Jenny!
Well, Pam, I think this tablescape has to be one of your very best. You have absolutely captured the colors of summer nestled among the grass and hydrangeas. Love the rainbow. Maddie and I took many pictures last week of the rainbows after the afternoon storms. God has gifted you Pam and you are using your talent for His Glory. I might want to see more decorating and gardening. I love the fall so I would like a fall garden party with pumpkins, etc.
Dianne, a fall garden party sounds like a great idea! Autumn is my favorite season!
I would like to see more travel features. Thank you for sharing.
Be sure to check out this Thursday’s post!
I enjoy your blog so much. Sunday inspires me of God’s beauty with your pictures and Tuesday’s show the beauty you make. I would love more about your garden and also decorating.
I am a big fan of your tablescapes….keep them coming…You inspire me to try new tables of my own <3
Thanks Linda! ❤️

I love Jenna’s art and have bought from her Society 6 store before. Blog about what you love and inspires you. Your tablescape today is a bright cheerful spot in your garden, love those glasses.
Carole, blogging about what we love and inspires us is the key!
Travel and a few recipes would be nice.
Rainbows bring me great joy every time and this one along with your table setting is a beautiful gift to me. The table setting looks like another part of your flower garden as it blends into the background. Please don’t stop showing your garden and I’m waiting eagerly for Butch to build you a She Shed. I vote for recipes.
Alice, thank you for being a faithful follower of the blog. We are in discussions over the She-Shed! ?
A beautiful use of color and pattern! This is a happy table.
I would like to see more posts on decorating and gardening.
It is all fun to me! Love the fancy tables! I would enjoy travel pictures too!

I would love to read more recipes that you have tried and also more decorating ideas. I sew and would like ideas for things that can be made at home. Thanks for a beautiful blog!
Pam, I just really love the color spectrum in this tablescape! Everything is just so pretty, and those are colors I frequently wear (corals, peaches). The tablecloth and those glasses are perfect together. I’d been wondering about your garden storm effects, and am glad your sunflowers survived.
As for blog content, I really love it just the way it is! I know your content and schedule, and look forward to the posts in my mailbox. So I wouldn’t change anything!

What a fun table Pam, you are fearless with the pattern mixes in the fun bright colors, wonderful for summer! The grasses in the background are just spectacular! I think your blog is a great mix of decor, garden, tables and recipes, I am a firm believer in writing about your passion at the time, it always shines through rather than something forced. Once again I am so flattered to be part of this giveaway and all your kind words!
Jenna
