“For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.””
Galatians 5:14
“Not all those who wander are lost.”
On Tablescape Tuesday, I asked what you would like to see more of, several suggested travel. I was delighted because travel posts are some of my very favorites! We haven’t always been travelers…we only began in 2003 when I went to Europe for the first time with our son’s high school class. Needless to say, it was the beginning of a quest to visit far away places, to see more of America the beautiful, and even those little gems near home! And today, we get to re-visit some of those places! This is only a smidgen of the trips we have taken, but let’s pack our bags and get away! Don’t forget to read to the bottom for your chance to enter the give-away!
Santorini is one of the most photographed places in the world! After visiting, I know why.
If I had to choose the most romantic place that we have visited in Europe, it would be Venice. After two trips, I have dreams of going again!
Provence was as beautiful as I had imagined. Rousillion was one of our favorite villages!
St. Petersburg was not on our bucket list, but I am so glad we saw the opulent palaces of the Romanov dynasty, the cathedrals, and the Hermitage! The Catherine Palace is a perfect example of Russian baroque!
We felt so welcomed by the friendly people in Dublin! Trinity College is one of the most esteemed universities in the world with its library containing The Book of Kells.
What a gorgeous view of the Adriatic Sea from the medieval walls in Dubrovnik, Croatia!
Liverpool Waterfront is one of the most recognized skylines in the world. It is so much more than the birthplace of the Beatles!
The Palace of Holyrood House in Edinburgh, Scotland stands at the bottom of the Royal Mile. The Queen spends one week at Holyrood each summer.
From the Mount of Olives, we are overlooking the ancient walled city of Jerusalem. Visiting the Holy Land is an experience of a lifetime!
On a trip last year to the Pacific Northwest, we drove the beautiful Oregon Coast…
…the next day we visited a snow-capped Mount Rainier on the first day of summer…
…also spending a few days in Seattle, a visit (or several) to the famous Pike Place Market is a must!
One of our most memorable trips was to Montana’s Triple Creek Ranch with gorgeous views of the Rockies…
…and amazing outdoor activities!
A business trip to San Francisco offered the opportunity to visit Napa Valley again. We toured this historic estate with its beautiful gardens!
Is there anyplace more magical than New York City at Christmas?
Last fall we took a road trip that turned out to be amazing! We spent a rainy day on Nantucket, but it didn’t dampen our spirits. How could it with this kind of scenery?
While on Martha’s Vineyard, we stayed in the elegant Charlotte Inn. The accommodations, service, and food were impeccable!
Only four hours from home is Blackberry Farm. What a beautiful place to spend an anniversary!
Even closer to home, we discovered Barnsley Resort for another anniversary celebration! The mystery and history were intriguing. Service, food, and accommodations were superb!
Our new favorite place is The Swag Inn…we just visited for the first time in May. I cannot say enough about this hidden gem in the Smoky Mountains. It supersedes all expectations!
Only forty-five minutes from home is Little River Canyon. We spent my birthday hiking this gorgeous and scenic area!
Just a few miles from our house is the beautiful Noccalula Falls which offers wonderful activities for the entire family!
Traveling Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and our own America The Beautiful…we still say this is our favorite place to be, our sanctuary in the Appalachian Foothills!
Thanks dear friends for traveling with us and now time to enter the give-away!

Pam @ Everyday Living says
Joanna, we love San Francisco!
CarolMaeWY says
Oh the places you have been. The photographs are the best. I’m coming back to read more about the trips.
CarolMaeWY says
We enjoyed your great photographs today.
Our favorite place was Glacier National Park. We loved camping.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Glacier is beautiful!
Alice says
The North Carolina beaches for the sounds and sand, Napa for the wine and olives, Martha’s Vineyard for everything. Love Europe but will stay home just to have ice in my tea!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alice, Butch feels the same way about ice in his tea! It is hard to get in Europe!
Sherry says
Would love to travel to some of your visits.
Sandra @ Maison De Jardin says
How wonderful that you have traveled to so many beautiful places in our world. The photos are beyond beautiful.
Love the blue water of the Caribbean. Especially love the French side of Saint Martin and the Cayman Islands – Grand Cayman.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Sandra, we have friends who have a condo in St. Maarten. We spent a week there in 2015. My Mom and I had been there in 2001. It is beautiful!
marmeladegypsy says
You get around, my friend! And I’m glad you do. And I’m especially glad you shared your photos because they really are stunningly beautiful. I was especially moved by two for very different reasons — the Provence was so rich and warm and vivid. I’ve never been there, but I felt I was through your image. And the Nantucket lighthouse — sometimes sun isn’t your friend with photography, but a moody sky, a monochromatic palette and a wonderful subject. This just drew me in. (And not because it was a place I’d been, because I never saw this view!) Lovely. I’m hoping I win that tote but I went to Jenna’s site and I may well be spending much of my holiday shopping budget there. I’d been there before, through her blog, but this particular painting really hit me. What a treasure for you!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Jeanie, Provence is a place I would love to return. I think we both love Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. We can go to the same places but not see the same things. You are quite the traveler, my friend! I have been shopping Jenna’s shop and I have bought Christmas presents! Happy Thursday, my friend!
RS says
My dream vacation would be a slow leisurely tour of Europe.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
You would love it!
Brenda Gunnells says
Russ and I’ve traveled all the lower 48 states and Alaska 2 times. We’ve traveled some of Canada and up to Anne of Green Gables home Prince Edward Island. I love the Caribbean with its most beautiful waters. I’m dreaming now to make a trip to Hawaii. So Blessed to have seen so much of God’s beautiful creation!!!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Brenda, we love Alaska! We have enjoyed the Caribbean on several trips! We haven’t ever been to Hawaii! Maybe one day!
Kim says
Pam, this is a wonderful review of the places you and Butch have traveled – and in such a short amount of time! I’ve always wanted to go to the holy land…and we plan to go early next year with a group of friends who have been before and with a reputable pastor as our guide. I can hardly wait! 🙂
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Kim, the Holy Land is an awesome trip, you will love it! Take lots of photos
Donna Skaggs says
Your photos are amazing! We just returned from Banff, Waterton, Glacier, Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone National Parks. Our favorite was Glacier. We hope to visit New England on our next trip.

We have in common traveling to Provence,Venice, Pike Place Market, and New York City. There are so many places we would love to visit.
Your travel posts are very good and I enjoy them. You could write articles for travel magazines.
I am enjoying commenting and think your giveaway is special but I will take myself out of the running because I already have one of Jenna’s lovely totes.
Our plans are to travel to El Salvador this fall and take a Danube River Cruise in the spring.
Pam @ Everyday Living says

Brenda Southern says
Love, love your travel pics! So far my favorite place has been the L’Isle-aux-Coudres, a municipality in Quebec, Canada. The island is a laid back in time adventure with the only way to it by ferry.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Brenda, I haven’t been to Quebec, but that sounds fabulous! Thanks for sharing my friend!
Linda Martin says
Enjoyed seeing your beautiful photos. God has given us some very beautiful places on this earth. This past June I spent hours on the most beautiful beach, Magan’s Bay, Saint Thomas, with my family. The beauty of the beach and family will be etched in my mind forever. Priceless!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Linda, I am so glad you have that memory etched in your mind. We went to Magan’s Bay in 1984 as a young couple. It truly is beautiful! Thank you for sharing and traveling with your family is the best!
Jerri says
Loved seeing photos of your travels. I have to say that one of my favorite places to visit is Venice. As you said, very romantic and simply amazing. Loved it!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Venice is amazing for sure!
Sharon Johnson Elsberry says
I love your photos and reading about your travels!! My husband and I are home bodies. We enjoy spending time on the lakes and beaches near us -Panhandle of Florida. We did take an amazing trip to Boston Massachusetts and then rented a car and drove up the coast of Maine to Bar Harbor. Went on a whale watching cruise and loved it! Then drove over to Mount Washington, New Hampshire and back down thru Vermont before returning to Boston. This tour of New England was amazing and will always be a treasured memory. Have a blessed day! Thank you for sharing your wonderful blog!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Sharon, your trip sounds fabulous! So glad you shared the memory with me! Thanks so much!

Your pictures are fabulous and your words express your delight in having visited these places. The first place on my list is the Cotswolds in England. I have two of Tom Caldwell’s prints of the Cotswolds in my home. The English countryside is so beautiful. The romantic in me wants to go to Paris. For years I have wanted to go to Montana. You have just solidified that yearning. I have visited many of the big cities in America the beautiful. Bob and I love short day trips around WNC. We have so much right at home. I too want to try the Swag sometime. Have a blessed day.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Dianne, I have been to England on three occasions, but not the Cotswolds…that would be so lovely. Paris is definitely romantic. I hope you get to The Swag!
Rita C. (Panoply) says
What a fantastic compilation post, Pam! If you do no further traveling in your lifetime, you have made travel memories of a lifetime! Just wonderful, all the places you’ve been and documented. I love this. When we consulted with our financial advisor just over a year ago, he instilled something in us that has stuck like glue (and for our newly retired neighbors too). He said most people quit traveling much by the time they’re 75 (unfortunately, mostly because of health issues of one partner or another), so the time to travel is NOW, while you’re healthy, unafraid of exploring (of driving or arranging tours, etc.). I must say, our neighbors are crossing things off their bucket list faster than we, but I’ll give us some slack since we remodeled this year. 😉 Great post.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Rita, Butch had a major accident 10 1/2 years ago and wasn’t expected to live. He is a miracle, he was back to running after six months. That was when we decided you can’t wait, now is the time! We have been to 41 countries, we hope to go to Australia and that will make 6 continents. I don’t think Antarctica is on our bucket list!
Carrie Lever says
My favorite place that I have ever been to was when I was able to go to Israel in 1998. At that time we went through Jordan. We got to see the mountain where Moses looked over into the promised land
Rosie M. says
Hi, Pam,
I also love to travel. Right now my hubby and I are enjoying our new RV, so I’d have to say my ideal vacation would be to take about 8 weeks, and circle the country! It’s hard to schedule that large of a time commitment, but this type of trip is really on both of our bucket lists!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
That sounds like a perfect trip Rosie!
AnnMarie says
I do not travel very much at all but we did go to Italy for our honeymoon 21 years ago. I loved Sorrento. I want to re-vist Italy and tour the Tuscan area.

I love your travel pictures. I know they bring back lots of sweet memories! I must make Swag Inn an item on my bucket list!
I supposed I must pick a favorite place – it is indeed hard…
Tahiti – staying in one of those on-the-water bungalows surrounded by the beautiful blue Pacific waters, is pretty hard to beat…with the perfect sunset, it is almost Paradise!
A close second is Venice…been there twice and I want to go back there one more time! Love the canals & the gondolas!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Esther, Tahiti sounds fabulous! Yes, we both love travel!
Eleanor says
That is easy. Paris, France. We spent a full week there and found everyone to be so friendly and so many places to visit. We certainly can’t catch up with you. However, I loved seeing all of your pictures.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Eleanor, I love Paris. I have been twice but haven’t spent more than three days either time. I need a week!?
Julia says
I haven’t traveled much so seeing the beautiful United States of American is on my list! Thank you for sharing your photos with us, beautiful!

We have had to slow down because Butch and I have aging Dads that aren’t doing so well. We haven’t been out of the country this year. A home on the Gulf is a blessing for you all to enjoy!
Yvonne says
I have to say Paris. We lived 15 min by rail outside of Paris for one year. Every time we had to travel into the city was a new adventure-so we got to experience the good, bad, ugly, magical, and beautiful.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yvonne, what a pleasure it must have been to live 15 minutes by rail from Paris! I know you have some wonderful memories!
Stacey says
I’m going to go back and study your travel posts. We’ve never traveled that much as a couple because my husband travels so much for his job. Of course, that doesn’t include much fun stuff. Our 30th anniversary is in February so we are trying to decide on our dream trip. 🙂
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Stacey, I hope you plan a really special trip for your 30th!

Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Debra for traveling with us virtually! ?
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Debra! There is nothing wrong with being a homebody!?
Dianne Lanier says
I love your photos! They are definitely a reminder that few places are more beautiful than our own Alabama! One of my most favorite places to visit is the quaint little town of Middleburg, VA. The horse country leads you back into the past where ancient ivy covered buildings remain in pristine condition. Local barbeque and Derby pie are served with sweet tea at the Red Fox Inn, where JFK claimed a table. A memorial garden is dedicated to Jackie O., a constant face on horseback. The shops carry hand made linens, sheep’s woolen from local farms, and cheeses made by Virginians just like they did in the 1800’s!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Dianne, I agree that Alabama has so much natural beauty! Middleburg sounds wonderful. I am going to check it out, thanks for all the interesting info!
Chloe Crabtree says
So many wonderful places you have been, and you are so blessed to have such beautiful photographs to remind you and to share with us your amazing travels. You have been to many more places than I have, travel safely as you continue to explore our world!
