“With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!”
Psalms 119:10
It seems that summer has been all about gardening here at Everyday Living! I guess that makes sense…because we have spent many, many hours in our little haven. And I have also loved seeing all of your beautiful posts that you have shared on our Gardens Galore Link Party! Be sure to come back for our 5th link party on Monday, August 7, at 8am (central time)! I am looking forward to partying in the garden with you!
If you are a long-time reader, you know that we live in the Appalachian Foothills of Northeast Alabama in a very scenic area with the Coosa River flowing right through our downtown! There are beautiful private gardens in our city that I have shown here, here, and here. We aren’t far from Birmingham…only a short 60 miles, and lately I have been checking out private gardens in the Magic City through shelter magazines. Today we will be taking a walk through two outdoor spaces that are dream gardens for sure…but a little dreaming never hurt anyone! So, let’s stroll through a French-inspired garden and then an English garden!

We have used quite a bit of stone in our garden, so I am drawn to this stone walkway that promises beautiful vistas ahead…

This open-air patio with hanging lanterns provides the perfect spot for an alfresco dinner! My dining spot in the garden is also open air and rests on stone pavers with ornamental grasses as a backdrop.

Lacecap hydrangeas are so delicate in appearance. Unfortunately this was the first year mine didn’t bloom!

I’m definitely inspired by these gardens! Very dreamy indeed. Love that green wall at the end and that swing made from an old chair. You live in a gorgeous part of the country.
Liz, it is inspiring to look behind the gates of private gardens!
Fabulous gardens. A most beautiful post !
Thanks for visiting these gardens with me!
Love everything French! Blessed
The French definitely have a knack for beauty!
Oh, my goodness, how restful and beautiful! Thank you for sharing. ?
Thanks for visiting the gardens with me, Kim!
Gorgeous gardens. Swoon worthy. Thanks, Pam. Very inspiring!
I love perusing garden pages, Bonnie!
Gorgeous Pam, that wooden gate took my breath away, and that vine trellis! Stunning graceful spaces, just dreamy~
Jenna
Thank you Jenna, the garden gate is the show-stopper!
I remember those articles from TH, with such nice gardens. I planted the voodoo star verbena among my annuals last year (fiery fun!). That espaliered wall is gorgeous, but I would think the grass among pavers beside the pool would be a major hassle if the pool is really used!
Rita, the upkeep on so many gardens has to require a gardener full-time!
Oh Pam, thanks for sharing these! They are indeed inspiring and so very, very beautiful!
My pleasure, Jeanie!
I love the trellis patterned wall and the grass clipped and growing between the pavers which everyone could do as it wouldn’t cost much just your time and labor. Thank for showing us what can be done with a garden if you have the strength and inclination.
And I would add if you have the money. Have a beautiful day, Alice!
ABSOLUTELY Gorgeous. I need a touch of Europe in my backyard. Thank you for the inspiration… Would love if you’d share at my first ever Reader Tip Tuesday: http://www.jodiefitz.com/2017/08/01/reader-tip-tuesday-along-new-food-craft-party/
It’s open all week as we intro it! Hope to see you & your inspiring ideas/photos at the party. xo
So fun and beautiful! One of my favorite things to do, when I’m not busy in my own garden, is visit other gardens. Also, vacations usually include at least one garden tour.
Thanks Joanna! A good garden visit refreshes the soul!
Such gorgeous gardens. Thanks so much for sharing them!

Definitely a dreamy garden. I’ll have sweet garden dreams about this one for days to come. Love the beautiful pool area and how it is landscaped.

Beautiful gardens are such a gift. Mine can be somewhat overwhelming as it covers too much area, but with a lot of work and some help last week it is as good as can be right now. I just wish it would stay that way for a while longer than it will!
I have been working all morning in my garden! I am featuring your garden Monday at Gardens Galore!
Linda, it is definitely work…I have been in my garden all morning. I am featuring your garden Monday at Gardens Galore!
I’m honored.
What a beautiful garden here at your post. It is hard work too.
I so miss it sometimes as when we downsized we moved to a big penthouse apartment, but of course, no garden like we had at our big farm when the girls where growing up.
Thank you for visiting.
