“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
Isaiah 40:8
Welcome sweet friends and Happy Solar Eclipse Day! It was supposed to be Gardens Galore No. 6, but due to unforeseen circumstances I am unable to host the link party today. I am greatly disappointed, but hopefully I will be able to host on September 4th. In lieu of the party, I am sharing my garden in these waning days of August. Last Thursday I posted about the sunflowers finally showing up with their dinner plate-sized blooms and you can see their happy faces here. Now let’s take a look at my late August garden…
Sunflowers brighten our garden table!
The crape myrtles are still in bloom!
Mr. Scarecrow occupies a corner of the garden, but he mostly falls down on his job!
There are new blooms on our limelight hydrangeas!
Sunshine ligustrums are still showing out, even if most of the garden is a little weary!
Vinca is an annual that keeps on giving!
Hydrangeas in late August
I am grateful for all of your visits and the comments that you leave! Tomorrow is a new tablescape with the sunflowers taking center stage!

Thank you Rita. It has gotten dry here over the past week. Hopefully it will rain this week!
I hope all is well. The gardens at this time of year seem to be winding down a bit, yet they are still lovely. 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful week.
Your gardens still look beautiful. Look forward to the sunflowers having center stage tomorrow. Blessings and abundant joy to you. Dianne
Thank you Dianne…Blessings~
How wonderful that your gardens are still so beautiful during the heat of the summer! … It’s been hot here with little rain. Have a great week Pam and Happy Eclipse Day!!
Thanks so much, Shirley…wishing you a wonderful week!
I look forward to the Gardens Galore party next time. (Sorry you had a conflict today and hope everything is OK.) I love the goldens during fall, and your garden is well on its way! It’s fun to have new blooms to enjoy all at the same time with the goldens. Happy Monday, my friend! 🙂
Thank you Kim! I am certainly ready for fall. Thanks for your sweet concern.
As always, it’s a treat to visit your garden! I love your scarecrow that is always falling down on the job! I hope everything is okay with you, and enjoy this special day,
Jenna
Thank you Jenna and I so appreciate your concern!
So pretty! Your garden looks beautiful even in these waning days of summer. My garden isn’t looking too bad but we live in So. California and with water being such an issue lush flowers are a challenge but I can certainly enjoy yours 🙂
Blessings,
Elizabeth
Thank you so much, Elizabeth! Blessings~

Your sunflowers are beautiful, but I am a bit crazy for your scarecrow.
Have a beautiful week !
Thanks and wishing you a beauty-filled week!
Your garden still looks beautiful! Is that perennial lantana in the foreground of table? Have you tried a steel rod attached to scarecrow? That’s what I finally did to my large dragonfly…put rod deep in ground.
Your garden is gorgeous.
Thank you Leanna!
I’m ready to go next time with a friend’s beautiful garden.
I saw that beautiful friend’s garden!

Snap, thank you for your sweet visits!
Your gardens are just gorgeous, Pam! I need your help over here!!! We moved to this house that has no landscaping. I am just starting to plant some perennials. Mr. Scarecrow is awfully cute!
Ann, thanks so much…I am still an amateur gardener…so much to learn!
A Fall garden is so pretty even in it’s browning and drooping. So many pretty flowers in bloom still here. I like that most of the work is done by now!
Visiting from Wow us Wednesday. Your garden is beautiful; It makes me want to dig up some dirt and start planting. Looking forward to your next party. Nancy Jeannette from ladyandthehouse.com
