“The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.”
Proverbs 15:33
It seems that we just began summer and so soon it will be gone! Everything Autumn is popping up all over blogland and in stores. I have a slight nod to fall in today’s tablescape set in the garden with sunflowers taking center stage. Joining the sunflowers is a patchwork tablecloth my sweet Mother made for me soon after I got married. You are invited to pull up a chair for “patchwork and sunflowers”!!
The setting was quick and easy with the patchwork tablecloth and sunflowers being the stars!
The sunflower blooms were so heavy that I had to place each bloom in a bottle to prevent them from toppling over!
The patchwork cloth has a pretty eyelet edging!
A backdrop of grasses and tall sunflowers!
Mikasa “fruit rapture” salad plates top everyday white plates, with yellow linen napkins…green placemats add texture.
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”
Proverbs 25:11

Your table cloth is beautiful with the sunflowers! The eyelet edge gives everything a true country feel. And, then the plates top it all off perfectly. Happy Tuesday! 🙂

I love your patchwork tablecloth made by your Mother. Looks like it was made for these sunflowers. Your backdrop is simply beautiful. Yes, I have started fall decorating but not a lot. I find I have to get a little head start so I can go to the pumpkin patch and apple orchards. I love fall. I am lifting up a special prayer today that all is well with you and yours. Thank you for this blog friendship. It is a blessing in my life. Dianne

What a special quilt your mother made. It looks beautiful as do your gorgeous huge sunflowers. I know you are pleased after all the problems you had with the weather. Your table is charming.
Hope everything is ok with you. I’ve been away celebrating our anniversary. Discovered I could get coverage outside the cabin as we were leaving!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Bonnie, I hope your trip was great! I need to call you in a week or so!

The quilt is so perfect with your sunflowers in the vintage box! Perfect for your garden setting too, just gorgeous Pam! I can’t get enough sunflowers lately, and was so disappointed I couldn’t find any to bring home from Publix yesterday, you are so lucky to have them right in your own backyard ?

Though summer in Maine will unofficially be over in less than two weeks, I can’t let go of it yet. Sunflowers are a gift and they are in full bloom here just as they appear to be at your place. They make for a happy table.

Sunflowers give a huge bang for a small packet of seeds!

This reminds me so much of a garden party our church did years ago. We used quilts and sunflowers and everyone was charmed! Your version is so fresh and happy! Anything would taste good at that table!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Leslie Anne, thank you! What a fun idea your church had! I might have to use that at my church!

I was really motivated to jump into fall decor a couple of weeks ago, but I have slowed down a little bit, trying to treasure the last of summertime. The sunflowers and the patchwork tablecloth from your mother are a perfect combination. For me, the entire tablescape whispers, “homespun”. Your garden is always such a lovely setting for your tablescapes.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Chloe, I like the description “homespun”!

Your mother made a beautiful quilt. Was it done by hand? My mom made a beautiful quilt when she was young and I have it now and treasure it. Hubby’s mother made them too.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, my mother made it by hand. I have at least 15 quilts that she made…treasured memories for sure!

Nan, you are so kind and thank you for visiting! The cloth has such wonderful memories of my precious Mom who passed away ten years ago. She was an excellent crafter and quilting was her favorite. I have many treasures that she made!

Pam I have to admit I am a sunflower girl and I like the way you used the bottles to hold those heavy stems! How clever! I must remember that. Lovely quilt and the setting is perfect. I miss my Mom too…she has been gone about 16 years now and I miss her every day!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Kari, thanks so much. Missing our moms is always difficult. My Mom made everyday special! Blessings~
