“They do not say in their hearts, ‘Let us fear the Lord our God, who gives the rain in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain, and keeps for us the weeks appointed for the harvest.’” Jeremiah 5:24
Maybe it’s a little early but there are some hints and glimpses of autumn showing up around north Alabama. More than hints if you browse through some of the local retail shops. But even outside we are catching an occasional preview of things to come. The angle of the light, the early blooming goldenrods, cooler nights ahead, and the sweet smell of kudzu blooms (yes, kudzu)!
Since fall is my favorite season, there’s surely no harm in dreaming about it. So, I’ve decided to take a look back at just a few of the things that make it a special time. As I did, memories made the dream seem to come alive. And, I have to wonder, what are some of your favorite things about autumn?

I enjoyed this review very much. What gorgeous reminders of the beauty ahead! Fall is my favorite season, too. I can hardly wait, but I’m resisting putting out fall things until the actual fall date rolls around. I don’t know if I’ll be able to hold off – so many things to inspire! 🙂

It is 64 degrees here this morning and beautiful, I can’t wait. No fall stuff out at my house! Have a wonderful day, Kim!

I needed to dream with you today about fall, Pam. We do think alike. I was thinking of writing the same question about your favorite things about fall.
It is good to think and anticipate the next season. I’m afraid I am guilty recently of complaining about the heat and humidity.
Lovely pictures and yes, Jeremiah 5:24 is a scripture to deeply think about.
Thank you for the glimpse of the pleasures to come in your post today. What a great way to begin my day.

Thank you Bonnie! It was 64 degrees yesterday morning! I love every season, but fall is my favorite!

Our weather man says we will get dryer air and somewhat cooler temps by tomorrow morning, the front you are experiencing will hopefully make it farther south. Even a slight reprieve from our heat and humidity will be much appreciated here in N FL. Fall is my favorite time of year also mainly because of the changes in temperature but I love all the colors as well. I have been tempted to put out some Fall décor but will hold off just a bit.

I love this post and Fall is my favorite season! Here in Colorado we are feeling like it will be an early fall-peach harvest was 6 weeks early, the grasshopper type bugs-Cicadas have been chirping for several weeks, temps have cooled and trees are changing. I’m not ready because it means we’ll have an early winter. I love the trees that change into brilliant colors-we will head back to New England in October, I can’t wait!!
Thanks for sharing.

Pam, I am impressed by the magnificent autumn photos that you present to us.
You ask a question … what do we like about autumn?
The serenity of the landscape, the varied and beautiful colors, the soft temperature … It is an explosion of beauty.
Thanks for showing it. It’s still a long way to go for autumn …

Pam: Love all your glorious photos. I always have favorites. Today, they are of your precious Ella Mae, the Ginkgo, and the cotton field. I left a beautiful Ginkgo in my garden in Va. that I had raised from a seedling. It was magnificent and past the second story of the house. The cotton field brings back my Mississippi memories.
Thank you for a lovey, lovely post. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks sweet Sandra! Wow, I can imagine how beautiful your ginkgo must have been. Blessings~
