“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Philippians 4:8
Greetings sweet friends! It feels like October is just whizzing by…and before we know it, Christmas will be here….but let’s not go there just yet!
After returning from Aspen late Monday night, I realized I had done very little fall decorating inside the house. The outside is all dressed in autumn finery, but not so much on the inside. So on Tuesday morning, I decided it was time for a fall vignette in the family room! Have a seat on the sofa for today’s coffee table talk…espresso, anyone?
Morning light streams in my family room!
I realized I haven’t shared “coffee table talk” in several months.
I love an espresso especially as the temps cool off! Butch gave me a Nespresso machine a few years ago…it has a frother that makes the best cappuccinos and lattes! What would you prefer coffee, tea, espresso, cappuccino, or latte. I can even make you a pumpkin spice latte!
Dried hydrangeas from my garden!
I always get questions about the wool leopard rug. It remains a favorite. Ella Mae and I play on it all the time…it never shows spills!
I also dried lavender from the garden…wonderful fragrance!
A tray holds a trio of velvet pumpkins, not nearly as pretty as the ones that are now available. But, do I really need to buy more even if they are prettier? I can’t believe I made a decision to resist!
A bronze statue of a mother and child grace the table along with a favorite book about life in Provence!
Thank you for your sweet visits! And may I ask what is sitting on your coffee table? I love reading your comments and try to respond to each one!

I have a white ceramic pumpkin sitting in a dough bowl of apples, leaves and cotton stems, as well as books, a large bowl and a clear pumpkin with white lights.
We do our best here in Florida to pretend it’s Fall. ?
Sounds lovely, Nancy! Thanks for sharing…have a beautiful weekend!
Pam: This was an absolute treat! Love your leopard rug and pumpkin, such charm. The bronze statue is lovely and I am especially drawn to the blue floral chintz chair. I would love to sit in this room, have something wonderful to drink that your served, and soak up every detail. Now that would really be a treat!
The scripture verse at the beginning, has always been a favorite of mine.
Beautiful post, Pam. Have a wonderful weekend !
Sandra, I would so enjoy a visit with you! Thank you for your sweet comments…have a beauty-filled weekend!
A tin French bucket filled with lavender, a signed book by Thomas Keller, “The French Laundry” also “One Man’s Folly”, a book about Furlow Gatewood’s fabulous homes, and of course Charles Faudree’s book “Home”. There is a blue and white ginger jar, and two blue and white candle sticks, and an old silver magnifying glass. There are no pumpkins in sight!
Alice, what wonderful books on your table and the ginger jar and candles sound perfect!
Can you believe I’ve never had an espresso?!! Maybe because I’m always a day late and a dollar short when it comes to trying new food and drink. Crazy, right? Espresso is as old as time and so am I, and yet…!!!??? Your home is something to behold. I’m looking at the photos and just marveling at the use of fabric and color and pattern. Just amazing! The rug is REALLY slick! I love that armoire, too! Magnificent! Have a lovely weekend!
Alycia, you are so sweet with your comments! You must try an espresso, don’t waste any more time!
Coffee for me, please, and thank you! Your table arrangement is pretty, Pam. I totally get the comment on questioning needing more, even if the newer ones are prettier (like the ones with the feather collars, to die for, right?!) On my coffee table are a few books of compiled, regional history (very collectible in this area, published about 30 yrs ago). That’s it, other than the stray plate and /or napkin from Mr. P. 😉 Enjoy your day.
Rita, I love history and your books sound great! Have a beautiful weekend! ?
While having my coffee, I am really enjoying pretending I am sitting in that beautiful family room. It is so beautifully decorated. I also noticed what I think is a picture of your Mother. Recently I have had a large flat wicker tray with handles filled with a large soft green pumpkin, a candle and dried hydrangeas. It is a joy to open my mail and see one of your posts. You do an amazing job responding to your followers…just one more standard that sets you apart in the blogging world…..attention to every detail. Thank you.
Dianne, you did see a photo of my precious Mother, and how sweet of you to notice! It would be such a pleasure to share coffee and conversation with you! Your table sounds beautiful! Have a joy-filled weekend~
How elegantly inspiring, my friend! Every time I read your posts, I make up my mind to go home and be inspired (again!). ?
Presently, I have a bamboo tray on my coffee table (but it is pretty cluttered up right now – since Irma!!) with remote controls, a set of pottery clay coasters with Chinese characters, and probably a toy or two, and some children books, leftovers from the last visit of a grandchild!
I have determined that sometimes I have to let things go because these days will not come again! These grand-babies will grow up and they will pick up after themselves (maybe!! Ha!Ha!)
Thank you sweet friend! Yes, let the grand-babies play. Ella Mae’s toys are in our family room now. I always keep them out for her! One day they will be too old for toys and playing on the floor! Happy weekend!
I’m still recovering from a broken arm and leg, but I really wanted to put out some Fall decorations. I sweet-talked the teenager who works in my yard into helping me! My coffee table is full of memories. The table is large and Oriental, inherited from my Mom. It has a brass and mirrored tray (from the world’s best sister) that holds a trio of Wohlford oil lamps from Mom. I filled a beautiful gold bowl with tiny Lady apples. An ornate Chinese footed tea tray from Mom holds a beautiful handmade turkey that was purchased on a Girlfriends Trip to Asheville. A small blue and white tulipierre from sis and tiny piece of sparkling hand blown golden glass fill out the tray. And a beautiful coffee table book on China rounds out the table. Sitting here with my coffee and looking it over, I am quite pleased with myself!
Your room is so beautiful and just my style! I too appreciate your uplifting Bible verses with each post. Have a great day, Pam!!
Roxanne, I remember you telling me about your broken arm and leg. I am so sorry that your recovery has been slow. I would love to see a picture of your coffee table full of memories. I am very sentimental and I loved your description of the objects and where they came from! I would love to see it in person! Hugs and prayers~
Everything is just beautiful, Pam! I love, love, love your family room! It is just stunning! It belongs in a magazine. I hope you have a happy and blessed day!
Thank you sweet friend! Have a beautiful weekend~
Beautiful Pam! I am loving blue for fall this year and your dried hydrangeas are so lovely~ You can never have too many pumpkins I say, but good for you to resist them! I am so envious of your Nespresso machine, how amazing to whip up your own lattes etc with ease!
Jenna
Jenna, if you like lattes or cappuccinos, I highly recommend a Nespresso machine!
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful, love all the color combinations.
Have a blessed day.
Sue
Thanks so much Sue! Happy weekend!
Wow, your table and room is awesome! Also love these great ideas for my Fall coffee table! I think I’ll get myself a Nespresso machine 🙂
Blessings,
Elizabeth
Ahem…I’d like a pumpkin spice latte, please. I’m pining over your lavender! I tried to grow it a few years ago. One plant survived for a year – long enough to fall in love with it! Our soil holds too much water during rainy seasons, so it got bogged down and died. I should purchase more for pots! (Next year.) Your home and furnishings are lovely, and I enjoy looking at all your details. Love your decorator style! I like your pumpkins with the long stems. No need to replace them at all. Good resistance! Happy Thursday! 🙂
Thanks so much sweet friend! Come over for a pumpkin spice latte anytime! Lavender grows great in a pot, try it next spring!
I’m not an espresso fan but if I was sitting at that gorgeous space I would be SO willing to try! It’s simply beautiful — everything you share makes my heart smile.
Aw, thanks Jeanie. Not everyone likes espresso for sure!
What a GORGEOUS room! I LOVE the leopard rug, I have a zebra rug in my living room! I also love and have a touch of leopard in almost every room too. I have a Fall vignette on my coffee table featuring some velvet pumpkins as well! Love the Mother and child statue. I have pinned this to revisit onto my “beautiful rooms” board:)
Pinky, thank you for pinning. I have a touch of leopard in most of my rooms! I love your autumn decor!
PS, I have that exact same leopard velvet pumpkin too:)
Hobby Lobby???
I will take decaf sweet tea please. Be sure and load it up with the sugar, it keeps me sweet. That’s what I tell the mister. My coffee table was a little of everything today but it’s back to the pumpkins on a tray. I don’t always have books on a coffee table but recent magazines. We have two coffee tables since the room is so long. One I reserve for serious reading and the other is right by the tv. I spy a red and white chair I don’t remember seeing a chair I haven’t seen with a green ottoman in front of it. Are you holding out on us??!!
Thank you Jan, I can certainly do sweet tea! No, the chair nor the ottoman is new!
I’ll have a Pumpkin Spice Latte please Pam! Gorgeous room! I’ve always admired your designer’s eye and mix of patterns and pretty fabrics and I’m wild about your rug! I envy your wonderful morning sunlight. We face west so it’s dark in the morning and HOT in the afternoon/evenings. 🙂
Thank you Mary, and I can whip up the pumpkin spice latte anytime!
Beautiful Pam…I feel like I can sit down and have a cuppa with you. My devotion time is the early morning in my Secret Garden but I know sitting across from your pretty table would be wonderful too.
Thank you so much, Kari! Blessings~
I love seeing you leopard rug. I’ve wanted to do that for ages but just haven’t come up with the perfect place for it to work. Leave it to you to have the perfect pumpkin to go with it. I’ll have any kind of latte you want to serve.
I would be thrilled to make you a latte!
Your room is just fabulous and cozy!Love everything but especially the pretty hidrangeas and your beautiful table.Adorable post!Have a lovely weekend!Maristella:-)
Thank you Maristella!
Thank you fpr sharing details aand accompanying photos. I love this style of decor. Would you share the name and maker of the blue chair fabric please>
Your family room is wonderful, so warm and inviting. The coffee table vignette is lovely, specially the hydrangeas in the white pitcher.
Fabby
Fabby, thank you so much for your kind words!
Thanks so much, the fabric is Raymond Waites and it has held up beautifully for at least 15 years. My window treatments and two bergeres are covered in it. I know it is no longer available!
My coffee table has a large bread bowl that belonged to my maternal Grandmother. I never knew her as she died in the 1940’s before I was born so I am thrilled to have her bread bowl. It is full of pumpkins, pine cones, and other fall fruits and berries. I look forward to every one of your posts and I love your use of color and pattern. Such a relief from all the white so prevalent now days. Just love that rug!!!! Also love your posting of scriptures as part of your blog. I’ll forgo the espresso and anything remotely connected with coffee! Just bring me a diet coke!
Bonnie, the bread bowl full of pumpkins, pine cones, and fruits and berries sounds so beautiful and what a treasure the bread bowl is! Thank you for your very sweet words! Happy Tuesday!
Beautiful as always Pam! I adore white pitchers filled with hydrangea…so pretty and fresh. Your home is so warm and inviting!
Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!
Blessings,
Cindy
It is my pleasure, Cindy! Thank you~
Hmm, I’m almost embarrassed to say what is currently sitting on my coffee table… ready? a stack of Charles Faudree books, Swedish country interiors book, Patina farm book, um… 3 glasses that are half full, cat treats, a spray bottle, an empty bag of chips, and kleenex. Oh and a pin cushion. Definitely not picture worthy, that’s for sure! Thanks for linking up every week with Thursday Favorite Things!
Angelina, your table says we live here! Thanks for your sweet visit!
Beautiful Pam! Your coffee table reminds me of my mama. She styles very similar to you.
Thank you Pamela!
Hi Pam, that rug is awesome and I love your tray of pumpkins! I love coffee table books and have four sitting on my ottoman right now. Most of them have to do with vintage and salvage. I’m not a coffee drinker, but enjoy a cup of tea occasionally. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Thank you sweet Jann!
That’s a beautiful mother and child statue. I think it’s great that it celebrates motherhood. My errant son would call me Sir when I told him what to do. I would get annoyed and tell him, “you call me Mum, that’s my title, I earned it, especially after 48 hours of labour, Thankyou!!”
Beautiful room and blog. My coffee table is messily full of things in progress for my daughter’s 16 th masquerade party, just like most of the house is, arrrgghh!
Regards Cath
Just bought an older house and am getting it remodeled. Would you share where you got the leopard rug?
