“I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him.”
Ecclesiastes 3:14
Hello sweet friends! I hope everyone is staying warm and cozy as the arctic blast makes its way through! This cold weather has been a good excuse to catch up on some reading and much needed relaxing after the holidays. For me, the New Year always feels so refreshing and I love to reflect on what the previous year held. As I have been looking over my most viewed blog posts from 2017, it’s obvious that you, my sweet readers, share a love for the same things as me…travel, decorating, and gardening! I know some of you are thinking “why are there no tablescapes in Everyday Living’s most viewed posts?” I am glad you asked! This year, I divided my Top Ten most viewed into two different posts, and the tablescapes have a post of their very own! I love to share my Everyday Living with you all, and today you are allowing me to do just that…from walking around a Historic Southern town, to Christmas, to gardening!
It was easy to see why the readers of Southern Living had voted Madison as one of the top ten South’s Best Small Towns! It was a perfect unexpected stop!
I was surprised that so many of you grabbed your umbrella to take a walk in my garden!
It just so happened that Pantone’s color of the year for 2017 was greenery, the shades of my powder room!
Who doesn’t love a Christmas tour? Thank you for showing up sweet friends!
This was my number one viewed post and I could not be happier! I have discovered over the past three years a new hobby…GARDENING!
I even stepped out on a limb and started a new link-up party…Gardens Galore! It was so much fun to see all of your beautiful outdoor spaces, flowers, and gardens! I am anxious for spring and summer to get here so that we can party in the garden again!
Thank you so much for your visits and your sweet comments, they are so encouraging and truly make my day!

Adults put money in a special envelope and give it to children.

As I sit with my morning coffee looking out at the snow that fell in Raleigh last night, I long for the spring! Your lovely photo of your garden takes me there. All of the photos are beautiful, Pam. As you of course know, I have had the privilege to see your spaces in person for almost 43 years, and I always marvel at the beauty you create. It was such a joy to be with you and the family last week. Thank you again for your gracious hospitality.

Fun to review your top posts. Your garden has me yearning for spring.
It’s been freezing here all week. In the 20’s is so unusual! It has been nice to sit by the fire though, drinking warm drinks.
I’ve decided I have too many decorations as it has taken me a week to put everything up!
Maybe it will warm up soon.

Good morning Bonnie. It is 12 degrees here and I haven’t wanted to do anything but read, drink coffee and hot tea! It took me 4 days to take down and put away Christmas. Stay warm!
