“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
Hello sweet friends and thank you for dropping by on a Friday. Posting on a Friday is unusual for me, so this must be some special occasion, right? It most certainly is! I am so excited to join with three sweet and very talented blogging friends for a brand new Friday series. Floral Friday will publish the first and third Fridays of each month. You all know my love for gardening, so when I was asked to participate, of course I said yes! You will definitely want to stop in and see the beautiful designs by Lidy, Mary, and Shirley with their links at the bottom of my post. A very special thank you to Shirley from Housepitality Designs for hosting Floral Friday!! Let’s see how a touch of tulips can bring on spring!
*
When I think of spring flowers, my mind automatically goes to tulips…and any color works for me! I love that tulips are a wonderful stand alone flower. They are confident in their own beautifully colored skin!
There isn’t much arranging when it comes to tulips, they are independent thinkers with a mind of their own!
Their beauty comes from their lovely color and their surprise element in the vase…
…they start by standing tall, but then they love to gently droop!
I can’t think of spring without thinking of all the birds that build their nest around my home. Mockingbirds are already building in the Lady Banks Roses. I have been monitoring their activity from my kitchen window, they are quite feisty!
All you need is a bouquet of tulips to add a little spring in your home!
A sweet doll chair (that my granddaughter uses for her baby dolls) was placed on the chest with a couple of antique books and dried limelight hydrangeas from last summer’s garden!
The chair is wearing a leopard velvet fabric.
You might wonder what espresso and a raspberry macaron have to do with flowers? Well, for starters, I love them both. Also, this sweet little vintage cup and saucer by Victoria (Austria) has a pretty scattered floral spray pattern. You don’t have to look very hard to find flowers everywhere in our everyday living from lovely china patterns to…
…the Maitland Smith chest painted in floral design, and the marble lamp with small rosebuds and leaves.
Thank you all for stopping by our inaugural Floral Friday! Be sure to visit the creative ladies that are listed below. Their florals are truly stunning!

Pam, You are so right that tulips with a mind of their own! There is nothing prettier than a vase or pitcher filled with tulips to usher in spring. I love your beautiful vignette with your handsome Maitland Smith floral painted chest, bird nest and pretty floral cup and saucer. Your petite leopard chair makes a perfect pedestal topped with books, to elevate the silver pitcher with dried hydrangeas blooms! It was a pleasure to join for Floral Friday.♥
Thank you Mary, it was certainly my pleasure to join in for Floral Friday!
I LOVE your floral vignette of tulips! Just isn’t Spring without those glorious flowers. As always, you have arranged them with such impeccable beauty on that gorgeous chest. And that small chair is quite the showstopper indeed giving a platform for your pretty silver pitcher of hydrangeas and the beautiful added texture and color of the books. Truly, truly a most gorgeous Spring vignette to usher in our First Floral Friday together!!! So happy that you and your talented self are a part of Floral Friday!! Have a great weekend Pam!!! xoxoxo’s
P.S. A reader of mine told me that if you put 3 pennies in the water of a vase of tulips they last longer and I tried it and yes they do!!!
Shirley, you are an incredible talent with the sweetest heart! It is a joy to join Floral Friday!
I am in floral heaven! What a fabulous idea! I certainly will be participating.
Thanks Bonnie, have a wonderful weekend!
Pam, what a beautiful way to start this first Friday of March. Tulips and daffodils and crocus just speak spring. This is an amazing post and so are the others. I will be following all of you. Your photography is pure perfection.
Dianne, you are so sweet! I hope you are enjoying your trip!
That vignette just makes my heart sing! Every detail is exquisite. I would love to see more of that little chair. I came home with an armload of tulips from the grocery store, yellow tipped with red…God’s paintbrush.
Roxanne, those tulips sound so lovely! Enjoy your weekend, sweet friend!
Lovely start to my day and something to look forward to. Your arrangement of tulips is so pretty and such a jolt of spring. Wonderful to see on a cold, snowy morning.
Thanks you Sandra. Tulips are such a happy flower!
I am so excited about your Floral Friday group Pam, what a treat these Fridays will be! I love tulips, a sure sign of Spring! Your vignette is simply stunning, I love the contrast that the leopard chair provides with the lovely lavender tulips…elegant simplicity!!
Jenna
Jenna, thank you! I have always enjoyed the petite leopard chair, now Ella Mae has claimed it.
Thank you for the lovely post, sweet friend. Your vignette brought a smile to my face 🙂 And tulips….they are my mom’s favorite flower and I can’t help but think of her when I see them.
Happy weekend to you, Pam. Hugs!
Hello sweet friend. You are such a bright spot in my day! Thank you and Happy Weekend to you❤️

Shelley
Thanks so much Shelley!
Tulips have their own own personality. Today I will have to throw some out but oh how I’ve enjoyed their sculptural shapes and changing bloom. Next trip to the grocery will bring home more.
Tulips are just happy!
Pam, this is so pretty! What a beautiful post and gorgeous vignette! I adore that Maitland Smith chest. It is stunning! You have inspired me to find some tulips to brighten things up around my house. Enjoy your weekend, sweet friend!
Shannon, you are always so sweet and encouraging. Happy Weekend!
Pam, your tulips are just glorious! Tulips are the only flower I know of that actually grow in water once cut, it’s why I usually cut mine a little shorter at first. Your vignette is beautiful {I have the big sisters to your doll chair- oh, my, how I love yours!}
It is such a thrill to know that we will be sharing Floral Friday’s together, friend. Wishing you a beautiful weekend,
Xoxo Lidy

Hello Pam, an excellent idea that you have carried out. It is very beautiful what you show us, the tulips are so beautiful …
The place where you have located them is perfect. The furniture is very beautiful as well as the accessories.
I’ve seen Lidy’s blog, now I see more …
A hug
Dolores
¡Feliz Sábado Dolores! Espero que tu nieve se haya derretido y tu clima se haya moderado. Gracias por tan dulces comentarios. ¡Te encantarán los tres blogs, señoras con mucho talento! Bendiciones mi amigo ~
the snow yes, but it rains as much as in the universal flood! hahaha, what to do? Patience…
Stunning vignettes! The darling teacup caught my eye!I agree with you,Pam!Hugs!
Thank you Maristella! Hugs
Absolutely gorgeous! Your tulips add a sense of romance to your home.
Thank you Nancy! I went to your blog and I guess I am tired, but I couldn’t find how to comment! The photos of La Jolla were stunning!
Thank you very much. How very nice of you to let me know.
As for comments … you are able at the end of each blog post.
I have a hard time commenting on other people’s posts as well at times. Especially if they are not a WordPress forum.
I hope one day you can stop by again and try. Sometimes if you click on the Blog Title… that will help bring up only that post and the comments section may appear more easily.
Thank you once again for stopping by. I truly appreciate it!
Your vignette is just gorgeous! Needs to be in a magazine! I love tulips because they are pretty all alone! Is that an antique Mora clock? I bought an antique Mora clock recently and love it.
Thank you so much Nancy, you are so sweet. It is an antique clock that I have had for at least 40 years, not a Mora. I decided to paint it to resemble a Mora. I would rarely paint an antique, but I did the clock and I love it. What a treasure to have a Mora. I would love to see a photo of it.
Those tulips are absolutely stunning! Thank you for linking up with our Friday Friends Parade!
My pleasure, thank you Ashley!
Tulips certainly symbolise spring for me. I have a “Rainbow Border” in my garden which in April is coloured by tulips, from one end of the spectrum to the other – they’re fab! #DIDI
I would love to see the tulips in April!
Pam, your tulips are just so pretty! Your vignette is stunning and I love the peek of the clock behind. “Tulips are independent thinkers.” Such a great thought! 🙂
Thank you dear Stacey!
Tulips always make me smile with memories of my father planting them with me. Each spring would how a special joy on discovering them popping up. I learned that if you add pennies to the vase they won’t droop as quickly. Thank you for sharing your lovely vignettes.
Pam-Thank you for sharing your beautiful tulips and vignette, which sing spring! As we await a snowy day here tomorrow in the northeast, the timing of this post is perfect!
Thank you so much Lee. Thank you so much for stopping by!
Pam, I am new to your blog today, thank you for inviting me in with this beautiful Spring Vignette. Your mirror is a stunning backdrop for this vignette! Oh how I love the sweet marble lamp and chair. My mother being Irish and father English I have always loved Tea Time at our home. I do love the delicate tea cups like yours. I have been looking for a small wall cabinet to display my collection but have not found a source. I do know I will enjoy your blog and look forward to the next one.
Elizabeth Ann, welcome and I am so glad you are here. Hopefully you will find a wall cabinet for you tea cup collection. Happy Thursday~
This is just gorgeous Pam!
Thank you Amber!
This time of the year I love seeing all the beautiful colors of tulips. Your tulips are fabulous. I plan on putting more into my garden this year. Thanks for sharing all the beauties.
Thank you so much, tulips are just happy!
