“When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.“
Psalms 94:19
Happy Thursday dear friends! I am so glad that you are here. It is time to share another installment of the real day to day stuff at Everyday Living! Warning: there might be a few family photos!
It is no secret that I am a fan of all Hoffman Media Publications and subscribe to most of them. As Butch and I were leaving for dinner in Birmingham, we stopped by the mailbox. The May/June issue of Southern Lady had arrived…
… once on the interstate, I opened up the magazine to begin reading. You can imagine my excitement to once again see one of my photos. I know it is just a small little photo of a tablescape (bottom row, first photo on the left, page 13), but that does not diminish my excitement. Thank you to so many sweet readers who saw it and emailed me.
Our sweet girl had never spent a night separated from her mommy. Seth and Allison took a trip in late March to Charleston and both sets of grandparents divided the time with our sweetie. We took her to Chick-Fil-A for lunch, which is her favorite. We loved spending so much time with her…making precious memories!
Thank you to so many readers who have checked on Butch. The gall bladder surgery went well and he has recovered in a short time. I always carry reading material with me when I know there could be idle time. As we were waiting, I was sitting in the room with my sweet man and I could tell he was bored. I offered him one of my magazines. He never knew I took his picture reading Victoria. His magazines are all outdoor guy stuff! Shh…don’t tell him!
Easter is always a special time with family. We made lots of photos of our girl!
Possibly another gardener? She loves her Da and he loves her!
Ordinarily, I wouldn’t share a photo of Butch and myself looking like a couple of country bumpkins! These were not our Easter clothes! Seth took this photo with his drone, you can see him operating it with his hands!
Now, we look a little better, maybe? We enjoyed a delicious Easter lunch at my brother’s and sister-in-love’s home. You can see a little of their beautiful view of the river.
I traveled with Butch on a 600 mile road trip all in one day to Moultrie, GA. Of course, I had to snap a photo or two. The Colquitt County Courthouse was built in 1902 and it is a beauty!
I have been following on Instagram and reading about Acre Restaurant in Auburn, AL. On our way home, we timed it perfectly to stop for dinner at this very popular eatery. For dessert, Butch and I shared the decadent Milk & Cookies Cake. A rich chocolate chip cake, cookie dough, and vanilla frosting that did not disappoint. Owner and Executive Chef David Bancroft was a semi-finalist for Best Chef:South, for the 2018 James Beard Awards.
I guess it looks like we love cake. Butch celebrated his birthday on April 7th. I don’t know anyone who loves a sweet, gooey, bakery birthday cake as much as he does!
My sweet Daddy reading The Jesus Bible Story Book to Ella Mae.
Our sweet girl helped her Mommy make Da a birthday present. “Da you are DEER to us”!!
Last Saturday morning my ladies small group from church went for breakfast at a local coffee shop that is British-inspired (hence the flag). Let’s just say we weren’t the quietest group. We enjoy doing life together.
On Saturday afternoon we partied again as our family gathered to celebrate the youngest who is turning one! He and his parents will be returning soon to long-term missions in Asia!
L to R on the sofa:
nephew Joel and wife Claire with their three children, Nico, Zay, and Benji; my niece Hannah and husband Ryan, with the birthday boy, Gideon; Allison and our Ella Mae with Seth standing behind and next to me; my 87 year old Dad next to Butch; my brother Mike and wife VV! These are my people and I love them dearly!
Butch and I traveled on Tuesday afternoon to Huntsville to see Celtic Woman. It was an amazing evening of Irish music and dance. We’ve visited Ireland and loved it. The music and videos brought back wonderful memories!
Thank you for your visits and sweet comments. You are special blessings!

Oh Pam! You’ve been busy and having fun, too! Your family is lovely and I’m so glad you could spend the time together. Butch (aka John Denver, I’m sure!) has clearly made a good recovery, for which I’m grateful. You have such fun together. I loved “Da’s” present and of course your Southern Lady features. Isn’t Celtic Woman wonderful? They really know how to do a show!
Happy weekend, coming up soon!

Thank you dearest Jeanie. We do have fun and enjoy life with our family and friends!

Pam, I loved this tour of your busy life. Thank you for sharing all the sweet pictures of your family! Sometime I would love to hear how you ladies make your small group work. I have been in two now that have fallen apart; many young mothers who say they are too busy. My sister’s group, though, has been together for 10 years (she is the baby of the group at 50).
As we were getting ready for church at her house last Sunday in Charleston, she got the devastating text that St. Andrews had caught on fire overnight. My family has worshipped there since 1857. If you saw any of my FB pictures, it was a total loss EXCEPT for the enormous cross that rose from the ashes and the baptismal cross.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Roxanne! I did see your FB photos of the devastating fire. That is heartbreaking. I am so very sorry.❤️

What a precious little granddaughter you have, Pam. I’m not going to tell the Mister what a great picture that drone took of you all. He would be on Amazon in a matter of minutes. Glad to hear that Butch is recovering quickly. Enjoy your weekend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Katie. My son has an aerial photo business. We love seeing all the photos he captures!
